PROLOGUE PART 2

THE NEXT DAY

I wake up around 8:00 and go through my usual morning routine. Start with breakfast which takes about 20 minutes, followed by what I can only describe as the "TRIPLE S" (figure that one out. :P) and finally get dressed and make my way over to the store.

9:00 hits and right on cue I make it to the store where I am greeted by the same employee who greeted me at the cash register the day before.

"Ah you must be John. My name's Hutch, and I'll be training you for the day."

"Well it's a pleasure to meet you Hutch." I respond

He takes me for a tour of where the different instruments are located and how they are distributed across the 2 floors.

"One thing I like about the setup of the store is that we have 2 floors." Hutch says.

"Yeah I agree 100% with you dude, in Dorval we have a similar setup and it really helped me out on showing customers on where they needed to go if they were looking for something in particular." I respond.

The tour went on without any problems and after that my day started and pretty much I was on my own. One thing that I liked a bit more about this store than the one in MTL was that I only spoke English to customers. I am bilingual but not perfectly as I speak more english than french, but I don't struggle with it.

During my lunch break, I am sitting in the break room with Hutch.

"Say dude, what do you think so far of the job?" He asks

"Oh I love it, reminds me of when I was in Montreal. Say just outta curiosity, i don't mean this to be weird but what school you going to when summer's finished?"

"I'm graduating from Jasper High this year actually, technically next year but you get the idea."

"Hey me too." I exclaim,

"Oh sweet, we might be classmates."

"Hopefully so."

The rest of the day goes by and we finish at 5:00. I was just about to get in my car when I saw Hutch waiting in the parking lot.

"Hutch, you waiting for someone?" I call out.

"Yeah I take the bus so I usually wait here for a bit before I head to the bus stop. Why?"

"Well I can give you a lift if you want, I don't mind whatsoever."

"Really?!, Thanks dude." Hutch says as he gets into my car.

"What's your adress dude?" I ask.

"2387, Aries Drive."

"WHAT?!, dude were neighbours." I practically shouted, surprising him.

"Damn dude. First of all, I'm right here and secondly, what's your address?" He chuckles.

"Sorry hehe, I live on 2510 Aries Drive." I said apologetically.

"Well shit we really are neighbours, awesome." He responds.

1 ½ months later

It's been nearly 2 months since I first got my job and met Hutch and we've become really good friends. During one of our days off we drove around the city and he pointed out some of the areas of town I should avoid going to, and I also found out that we're both metalheads so that's a nice little bonus.

It's now the day before school starts as I drop Hutch off at his home after going out for supper. Right as he got out of the car, he turns back to me and asks.

"Hey, are you taking the bus to school tomorrow or are you driving?"

"I'm taking my car, why?"

"If you don't mind, could I ride with you to school for the year. As much as I don't mind taking the bus, I kinda grew tired of the long ride and having to deal with being crammed with several loud students."

"Of course I don't mind dude. It's gonna be a much quicker ride to school, less noise of kids being hella loud and we both get to listen to ACTUAL GOOD MUSIC."

We both chuckle at my comment. (A/N IMO, Modern Pop music is boring and repetitive beyond reason).

"You're right on that, well I guess I will see you tomorrow then."

"You betcha, What time do you want me to be here?" I ask

"Since school starts at 9:00, and we're 10 minutes away. Be here for 8:15"

"Sounds like a plan then. See ya tomorrow dude,"

"You too John."

I got home and after gaming with my buddies some more before I eventually decided to call it an early night since it was a big day tomorrow. Who knew what I had in store for my first day at a new school as a new student.
