"March 1st, 1989, I just finished up with another treacherous mission involving the foiling of another plan by Professor Nimnul. I still do not understand that after his many foiled plans by myself and the Rescue Rangers that he still pursues further plans of destruction. I guess that's what perseverance does to you… Or a big ego. Also, today I had the plea-
"Does he have to have it so loud!" - Chip aggressively remarked as he slammed his pen and book on his desk proceeding down stairs to the living room.
As he approached the living room , there was what Chip figured to be; Dale mimicking air guitar like motions while listening to one of his favorite rock bands at a rather loud volume that could be heard from just about any point in the tree house.
"Dale! Da-" - Chip yelled as he walked over to Dale, who was ignoring Chip. Chip then unplugged the television.
"Hey, what's the big idea!" - Dale with a frustrated expression stormed over to Chip. Which was an indication that another argument was about to erupt.
Chip thumps Dale on the head.
"Listen here dummy, your music's too loud. Can't you go listen to it elsewhere?" - Chip restraining the urge to not continue the argument while posing the question to Dale.
"I don't have to go anywhere! I live here too, I should be able to listen to my music and read my comics whenever I want. You're not the boss of me!" - Dale exclaimed getting close to Chip, grabbing him by the collar of his jacket.
Chip shoved Dale off and prepared to take a swing at him. Before they could fight Monterey and Gadget entered the room.
"Now Chippa, we all have had to listen to your music from time to time. It's not my cup of tea, but I respect yea when you play it. I think it's only fair if we give Dale the same opportunity." - Monterey lectured while pointing at Chip.
"But-." - Chip tried to argue before being interrupted.
"Yeah Chip, fairness is important. Besides with earplugs in, you hardly know it's even there." - Gadget said to provide a side of positivity to the issue.
Dale stuck out his tongue at Chip and smirked. Chip just glared and refocused his attention on Gadget and Monterey.
"Oh, alright. Sorry Dale." - Chip said in a sigh of disappointment as he returned to his room to continue writing.
Chip then looked through his closet and pulled out a Sony Walkman that he had shrunk with Nimnul's giganitco ray gun. Inside was a Johnny Cash cassette. He put the earbuds in and pressed play. "I've got Stripes" started to play. Chip wasn't much of a hardcore fan of 80's rock and roll that Dale was interested into. He is only a fan of Johnny Cash because that's what his father listened to when Chip was growing up in the late 70s. Dale being adopted into Chip's family left a lot to be desired from Chip. As they were both so different. In 1976 Chip's father took him to a Johnny Cash concert. Chip will always cherish one of the last memories of his father who passed shortly after in the spring of 1977.
A knock could be heard at the bedroom door. Chip turned to face Dale who came in.
"Um, are you okay?" - Dale questioned as he shared a feeling of concern and question towards Chip.
"What the heck are you talking about?" - Chip said flustered at the question. He then released on the clock in his room that he had been writing for the past 6 and a half hours.
"Oh, its late." - Chip gave a look of defeat looking from the clock to then Dale.
"Yeah, I came in to get you for dinner but you didn't respond so I left you alone." - Dale said as he approached Chip in a concerned tone.
"So are you still mad about the music from earlier?"- Dale asked.
Chip, being secluded from his own thoughts for so long, had forgotten about the incident that only occurred hours ago.
"It's fine Dale."- Chip smirked in a sigh.
"So, you want to come and eat. I waited for you so you wouldn't have to eat alone." - Dale said with a slight blush and in a embarrassed tone.
"You waited for me?" - Chip looked in a state of surprise. Dale nodded
"Sure, lets go Dale." - Chip said as the both of them proceeded down to the kitchen table.
As Dale joined Chip for dinner, everyone else had already gone off to bed. It was 11:00 at night when Dale had gone to see Chip. The two ate with minimal talking. All was assumed back to normal until the next dispute.
