maul's pov

Darth Maul was getting tired. this Jedi was Very powerful, almost a match for his master. almost.

he saw an opening and moved in and... blocked. the Jedi's padawan had caught up. maul knew this was a fight he could not win and there was no way to get rid of the padawan. he would fight till the end.

and then the padawan got in a lucky hit across his legs

"AGHHH"

"Who are you and who sent you!?" the padawan questioned

"I don't talk... to Jedi... scum. ah"

the Jedi looked over him "patience obi-wan if he dies we can't question him."

obi-wan looked at his master "but he's a Sith master shouldn't we kill him?"

"a Jedi never kills an unarmed opponent... or in this case, an unleged one." Qui-Gon said the second part quieter

old fool. maul thought. he's trying to keep me alive. he could feel himself losing consciousness. rage would fuel him.

but he passed out anyway as the two Jedi carried him out.

Obi-Wan's pov

his master was being foolish keeping a sith alive.

"where do you think he learned the ways of the force master?" Obi-Wan asked

"I don't know Obi-Wan, but I intend to find out. something about this doesn't feel right. we best find young Anakin. I hope the boy hasn't done anything foolish" Qui-Gon replied

ah yes the fly in the ointment of their relationship, Anakin skywalker. but Obi-Wan did hope nothing had happened to the boy. if it weren't for him they would still be on Tatooine.

as they entered the hanger they saw the Noobian Fighters landing. including the one, Anakin had been in.

"It seems your fears have been realized master" Obi-Wan quipped.

fortunately, Anakin was alright. "Qui-gon, sir guess what, Me and Artoo went up into the space battle and we blew up the enemy ship and... hey what happened to that guy's legs. who is he?."

"master Jedi sir" one of the soldiers approached them "we've just received word that Nute Gunray has been captured, sir. an um sir why are you carrying that... thing"

"I need to question him, soldier could you get a medic. he won't be telling us anything if he doesn't live" Qui-gon said.

"right away sir."

Obi-wan turned his attention to Anakin, as Qui-gon went to get a medic. "That man master Qui-Gon is carrying, he's the sith that attacked us on Tatooine. master wants to question him"

"I thought he looked familiar. He looks like a Zabrack, but I've never seen one like that before, what's a sith." Anakin asked

"all I know is that the Sith were the ancient enemy of the Jedi. but they were said to be extinct. the sith use the dark side of the force. he's very dangerous Anakin." Obi-wan said.

"I wonder where he's from." Anakin wondered

"well we'll find out soon enough." Obi-Wan said.

so that's the first chapter Qui-Gon is alive and Maul is in custody.
