Chichi finally recognized where they were heading. They were on the way to the lake where they had their first date. She thought it was the most romantic thing that Goku had ever done for her, but she still felt they needed a conversation. Once they landed, Goku threw a capsule that had a picnic basket with delicious treats including a bowl with the nicest looking apples and soft blankets. Goku held Chichi's hand, "Would you give me the honor to fight me?" Chichi now remembered that time that she tried to take Goku on a date to do the most pleasurable thing, that for Goku was to fight. Chichi replied "It would be my pleasure" and punched him.

Goku: You got so much stronger. It hurts!

Chichi: I won't be going easy on you.

They fought for a few minutes remembering their date until Goku made a wrestling maneuver to put Chichi on the grass and he got on top of her to kiss her. Chichi reciprocated the kiss, but stopped him before letting herself go in her husband's arms. "Goku, we need to talk." Goku got close to her and reposted,"I know, I just miss feeling you close to me". She caressed his face, "I missed you even more". The couple sat up facing each other and holding hands.

Goku: You looked great in the ring. I was jealous I was not the one in the ring fighting you.

Chichi: hahaha. Don't try to be cute.

Goku: Chichi, I am very sorry I forgot your birthday and that I am not as attentive to you as I should. I will do better, but please be patient. I am an alien raised by a loving hermit, someone who has been dead for 8 years and in space for a couple, so sometimes I don't know how to behave. I only know you are my home.

Chichi: I never thought of you in that way… You are correct, you are different from everyone else on this Earth. But this is just not about my birthday, it is about the life that I envisioned for us. Goku in an upset, almost hurt tone, "Our family is my priority too, Chichi. The worst day of my life was when Gohan was kidnapped by my brother. I was not strong enough to defend him. I felt that I could have prevented that situation if I kept up with my training. I kept thinking that I was relieved that you did not come with us to Master Roshi's because he would have killed you. I do not ever want to feel like that. Then Gohan had to fight Cell, because I was not strong enough to defeat him. My boy had to sacrifice his innocence and fight a monster because I couldn't. I don't want that for Goten. I want him to enjoy his childhood. There is no doubt that I love training and fighting the strongest opponents, but I also have to do it to protect you and the boys. To give Gohan the chance to be a scholar and Goten the chance to grow up to be whatever he wishes. At least while I can."

Chichi: What do you mean by while you can?

Goku: One day I will be old and not as strong. Also, one day I will die of old age. When that day comes Gohan, Goten and Trunks will be the ones responsible to defend our planet. Gohan might start having kids soon which I am sure will make him want to train again because he would want his kids to grow in a peaceful world.

Chichi: Oh Goku… I never made this connection to your training. I thought you just liked being away from me.

Goku: I don't like being away from you. I just need time and space to concentrate. You had to leave home to concentrate too. At home there are many distractions. You are my most beautiful distraction.

Chichi: Oh Goku…

Goku: Please don't say that I would be happier without you again. You know when I was fighting Freeza for the first time in Namek and he realized my power, he offered me everything I could possibly wish if I joined him. Chichi was surprised by her husband's words. She neve thought that part of Goku's determination to get stronger was rooted in the incident with Gohan. She never knew that Goku's priority was their family until now. In the end, that is all she really wanted from him. Goku was incapable of lying. Chichi knew that every word he said he meant.

It was time for her to make a choice between staying with Goku who loved her more than anything in his own way or leaving to start a more conventional life. There was nothing conventional about her. She was a dinosaur hunting princess, a martial artist, daughter of the giant Ox King, mother of two of the most powerful beings in the universe and a strong woman that took care of her family when Goku was gone. After understanding Goku's main motivation to train, she could not hold training against him. She realized that she needed to learn to communicate better with Goku. All this time she thought he had different priorities, but they share the same ones. Every time she communicated when she was unhappy about something, he listened, like when he got a driver license to please her, even though he can fly or use instant transmission.

Chichi: I've known you for decades, but I did not know you felt that way...why didn't you tell me sooner

Goku: I thought you knew… You know everything about me. You know me better than anyone else.

Chichi could not resist but to kiss her husband as passionately as she did when he came back to life after seven years.

Goku did not want to interrupt the kiss, but wanted to know Chichi's decision and make sure that that amazing kiss was not a goodbye kiss, "I want to be married to you. Do you still want to be married to me?

Chichi: Yes,Goku! You are my home too.

Goku interrupted Chichi with a kiss that she enthusiastically reciprocated. They kissed and touched each other like they had not done in a long time. Maybe it was the reconciliation, the tournament, or that Chichi was wearing the combat clothes from 20 years ago, but this moment felt almost like when they were young and were discovering each other's bodies for the first time. They were nervous, but enjoying each second of this tender moment. Goku's hands caressed his wife's body, it was stronger since the last time they were this close. He could not help it and started undressing his wife.

Chichi: Goku, what are you doing? We are out in the open.

The couple made love under the stars celebrating their reconciliation. Normal couples renew their vows in ceremonies, but Chichi and Goku renew their vows by winning martial art tournaments and escaping on Nimbus to commemorate their union.

They were cuddling while Goku ate an apple, because there was a picnic and Goku was not going to waste any food.
