Darken Rahl discovered the betrayal of his army, the D'Hara army, and the Mord-Siths. They allied with the Sisters of the Dark and joined Keeper's cause to change the world.
Keeper knew the power of Orden Boxes was weaker than the Conjunction of Spheres. This separated the world in two for a time. The worlds were the world without magic and the world with magic. The worlds intertwined because of a portal. Unknown to people, the Conjunction of Spheres recombined both worlds turning into one. As a result, the Keeper tried once more to conquer Earth and revived Emperor Jagang. The Emperor infiltrated into the House of Rahl and turned it against Rahl.
Richard, Kahlan, Zedd, and Cara went to People Palace after they had won the war against Imperial. They found the lifeless body of Darken Rahl. Cara revived him with the breath of life, but the assassins killed again. His last words were "the Keeper wants to rule the land of the living... you must stop him... going to Camelot". The assassins showed up and they were no match for the strength of the four. After they had finished the fight, Zedd told them Cara can't revive Rahl because of the dacra. They checked the bodies and noticed the assassins belonged to Jagang.
Without losing time, Zedd used a portal and teleported everybody in Camelot. They went to the queen and told her what had happened. When she heard this, Gwen didn't know what believing. Gaius, when he was a young warlock, had studied at the Palace of Prophets. He heard many rumors about the Seeker, Mother Confessor, and the Wizard of the First Order. Gaius didn't trust Cara because she was a Mord-Sith.
During the meeting, Percival took the body of Gwaine to offer him a proper burial. Cara saw Gwaine was still warm and asked the permission to resurrect him. The queen agreed and Cara resurrected Gwaine. The queen, Gwen asked if she could also resurrect Arthur.
The next day a small force of soldiers from Camelot joined them on the journey. In the middle of the night, Sisters of the Dark, Mord-Siths and D'Haran soldiers attacked them. They beat them and wondered why D-Haran soldiers and the Mord-Sith did this. Remaining to the questions, they went to sleep; a big day awaiting them.
In the morning, they passed Avalon Lake. All the monks from the island died by banelings hands. A squad of troops attacked and Morgause, Cenred, Roudan, Morgana, and Mordred lead them. Morgana and Morgause attacked Cara with magic and all magic used against her turned back to them. Kahlan confessed Roudan and Cenred and later Roudan died by a Sister of the Dark hand. Zedd injured Mordred with magic and stunned him. Then the fight was over and the Mord-Siths and the Sisters of the Dark ran away. Morgana, Morgause, Mordred, and Cenred became prisoners.
Meanwhile, Cara caught a Sister of the Dark. Kahlan confessed her and ordered to sacrifice her magic for Arthur. The Sister of the Dark did, warming Arthur long enough to Cara to revive him. Arthur didn't remember how reached on the island. He was happy being alive and all returned to Camelot. Cara tortured Morgana and Morgause with Agiel to say all that she knew, but they refused it.
The heroes suspected something was going on because all the clues said that, but didn't know what.
In the morning, Camelot was under attack and all the little girls stolen. Arthur and his knights did not know where they were being held the prisoner. They only knew must find them before they became the next generation of Mord-Siths.
Cara suspected that Morgause and Morgana knew where the prisoners were. She tortured Morgana with Agiel in front of Morgause and Mordred to make her talk. Morgause told them where the little girls were. There was no time to waste! The girls were at the Desir. Arthur was curious and he touched the Agiel.
Cara said, "A powerful king screams like a coward"
"What?" Arthur asked.
"Nothing. She is Cara," Kahlan explained. Everyone laughed.
Meanwhile, the prisoners were in prison and Zedd cast a spell and made the whole prison immune to magic. Percival, Leon, Arthur, Gwaine, Merlin, Richard, Kahlan, Cara, and Zedd went to the cave of Desir. Night came and they had to make camp.
In the middle of the night, Mord-Siths and Sisters of the Dark attacked them. In the middle of the fight, a dacra hit Arthur. If they did not surrender, Arthur would die. They received unexpected help from a Sister of the Light, Verna. She pulled away from the dacra and saved Arthur. The attackers ran away, but a Mord-Sith didn't run. That Mord-Sith was Denna.
"Is good to see you again, Seeker! said Denna and threw the Agiel down. "I am not your enemy and have some answers for you."
"What makes you think they will trust you?" asked Verna and shared. "Jagang is back and takes control of everything."
"This makes sense," realized Zedd after listening to Denna's story. "This wants Rahl to tell us with his dying words."
"What about you, Verna?" asked Kahlan and listened to her story too. "The situation gets under control."
"We must rescue Midlands from Jagang," said Richard and asked who was responsible.
"Beautiful lady, do you love me? I can't live without you!" Gwaine said.
Cara gave him a big slap and they all laughed. "Mord-Siths are deadly, my dear. We hurt man, but we know give pleasure. But I love you."
"Guys, we have more important things to do," reminded Merlin to them and asked. "What is the Conjunction of the Spheres?"
"A distant event that brought new elements to our world," answered Leon and resumed. "One of them is magic and my father tells me this story."
"So this explains how the worlds combined again," concluded Percival and shared. "We can talk while we eat."
Merlin ate some fish. Nicci, a Sister of the Dark, ran away because other Sisters of the Dark who wanted to kill her. She ran and tripped over Merlin. Sisters of the Dark accompanied by brother Narev saw the allies and retreated.
Merlin fell in love with Nicci, and Arthur was very curious about who the Keeper was and what he wanted.
"The Keeper is master of the Underworld; The Gatekeeper," Nicci said.
"Hold on, the Gatekeeper isn't Cailich?" Arthur asked, confused.
"No, she isn't," Merlin, answered. "Let Nicci speak"
"Thank you, warlock. The Keeper wants to rule and destroy the world of the living—our world. His loyal helpers are Sisters of the Dark and banelings. Banelings are dead people who receive a second chance to kill every day in the name of Keeper to live again. Men, women, children, soldiers... It does not matter. All humanoids can become banelings."
"And what happens if I don't accept the Keeper's offer?"
"You will burn in the flames of hell, where you will suffer for eternity." Denna said.
"That's why we're here," Richard said. "To stop the Keeper's plans and save the world, we should rest now. We'll find the girls in the morning and deal with Jagang later."
"I will stay," Arthur said.
"No, little coward king," Cara objected. "Denna, Percival, Gwaine and I will stay. Warlocks are useless against Mord-Siths"
Arthur was so shocked that he started laughing. Useless warlock? Merlin thought to himself. Zedd thought I am too old for this.
They went to sleep and Merlin had a strange dream. In his dream, he met the Creator. She told him that in the few days rifts from the underworld would appear if they did not kill Cailich. If she died, rifts would appear after two months, but they were not ready to face his power yet. The Creator showed Merlin what would happen to the world if they did not kill Cailich now. You must resurrect Kilgharrah.
Merlin woke up screaming. Luckily, it was morning. Arthur, Richard, and Kahlan were awake. They calmed Merlin and everyone else woke up.
"The mad warlock screams like he sees a ghost!" Denna said.
Merlin told them his vision and his dream with the Creator. They had to make a difficult decision. Either went at the Island of the Blessed to kill Cailich or to Desir Cave to save the girls.
Cara and Denna argued, "We must stop the Mord-Siths... If we stay here, they become the next generation and Camelot will suffer another attack. We cannot split up—we do not know her plans, or who is guarding the girls.
"Are you both nuts?" Arthur asked. "The fate of my kingdom rests on this decision."
"Say one more word, Arthur, and you will eat my Agiel," Cara snapped.
"The fate of your kingdom, Arthur?" Zedd said. "No, it is the fate of the entire world. Yet, I am afraid the Mord-Siths are right: we must save the girls.
"Why aren't Cara and Denna like the others?" Arthur asked.
"I killed my father when I was nine years old," Cara said. "I regret that day and what I did. It depends on your strength and how you can fight your training. The biggest enemy of a Mord-Sith is a Confessor. They train to hate. But, Kahlan is my friend and I cannot hurt her. And as for Denna, he Darken Rahl betray her and now she wants to live at all costs."
"True," Denna said, "but the Seeker gave me a second chance. I used it wrong and now is the time for a third chance and use it. That's the true path of power."
Gwaine interrupted. "Less talking. We must save the little girls from those monsters, and forget about your vision."
Merlin glared at him. "What? You're joking! What will we do if things happen like in my vision?"
"They faced the Keeper, they know how to beat him. They know his dirty plans," said Gwaine
"True," Richard admitted. "We defeated him once we would do again. Now is the time to save the girls."
"Richard abandoned the mission many times to save everyone who needed help. He still defeated Keeper," Nicci offered.
"Let's save the girls then," Arthur said.
They kept their eyes open because Mord-Siths could ambush them. They were in their territory, near the cave of Desir. Some Sisters of the Dark and D'Haran soldiers protected the cave's entrance. Mord-Siths trained the girls on how to use the Agiel. They fought the guards and saved the little girls.
They returned to Camelot and returned them to their parents. Uther met them and was a baneling.
"What have you done, Arthur?" Uther yelled. "You accept magic in Camelot? Don't you understand why I forbid it for so many years? I will kill Merlin and every warlock who stands in my way!
"Are you mad, father?" Arthur retorted. "Merlin saved my life many times. He helped me to build Camelot and Albion. He is my friend. What happened to you?"
"His time is almost up," Denna explained. "He accepted the offer of the Keeper, but he has killed no one, so the Keeper wants his soul back. If you kill someone you can live for one more day and I can resurrect the peasant. If you hurt the warlock the only person who will die here is you."
Merlin reminded them they must resurrect the dragon. Uther killed a soldier and Denna resurrected him. But, she did not want to resurrect the dragon.
"I won't kiss that dragon in the mouth—don't watch me!" Cara said. "Fine, I'll do it. God gives me strength please!" Besides, she resurrected the dragon.
"Resurrected by a Mord-Sith... Better I die again," said Kilgharrah. "A confessor, friends with a Mord-Sith? Has the entire world gone mad? And who are you?"
"My name is Cara Mason"
"Cara Mason... I know your name from somewhere, but I do not remember from where... Wait, I remember! Your father was a Dragonlord."
"A Dragonlord? What is that?" Cara asked.
"They are masters of the dragons," Merlin explained. "We protect them; we teach them how to use their powers. I am the last Dragonlord alive."
"Right!" Kilgharrah said. "I was born in the Middle Lands. My whole life I lived there. All the generations of Cara's family were Dragonlords. There were many dragons, but many of them left before the borders appeared. The other dragons and I remained there for 400 years. Your father, Cara, knew many people who wanted to leave, so we did. When crossed the border I said goodbye to your father, but the most powerful Mord-Sith attacked us. Your father fought like a hero, so we could leave. After a month, when I came to Camelot, I received a message from him: it is a way to save Uther. We need shadow water, which you can find on the Island of the Blessed."
"That's impossible!" Cara said. "My father a Dragonlord? That would mean this happened ten years before I was born. I killed him and I regret it every day."
"I accept your apologies," said Kilgharrah. "You are more powerful than a Mord-Sith. You resisted the temptation and become more powerful. Your father would be proud of you."
They all went eating at the castle and started talking about how to stop the Keeper's plans. Uther apologized to Merlin and gave magic a second chance. He allowed it the practice in Camelot. Meanwhile, guards laughed when heard Cenred loved Kahlan and he wanted to make her queen. He kept saying he can't live without her and wanted to be free to protect his mistress and if he locked him, he cried.
"You make men love you," Gwen said to Kahlan. "Can you teach me how to do that?"
"He doesn't love me," Kahlan said. "I confess him; he lost all his will. He is under my charms and those charms will disappear if I am killed. I cannot teach you how doing that because it is my power. I can confess everyone who I touch—it does not matter if it is men, women, or children. My touch is deadly for Mord-Sith. Cenred will protect me until he dies or I do."
"In the morning I want Morgause hanged," Uther said. "Mordred is Morgana's victim and it isn't his fault."
"No, don't hang Morgause!" Denna said. "I have a better idea. I will start Morgana in the path of the Mord-Sith, and she will kill Morgause."
Everyone went to sleep, but Denna started the Morgana's broken. Meanwhile, had a dream from the Keeper. He showed them how their world would be when he ruled again. In the morning, they talked about their dreams. Denna broke Morgana and killed Morgause in front of everyone.
After this, they went to the Island of the Blessed to stop Cailich. When they arrived the enemies ambushed them. Sisters of the Dark, Mord-Siths, banelings, D'Haran soldiers showed up. Kahlan used Condar and corrupted half of the other army to fight with them. Cara faced Cailich, and after a long fight, Cailich died and all the dragons stopped fighting.
Our heroes found shadow water and cured the banelings. After a short time, the rifts from the Underworld appeared. Merlin and the others realized somebody tricked them. The only way to stop the Keeper and his rifts from the Underworld was to find the Stone of Tears. Seeing what happened, they returned to Camelot and started cured all the banelings. The Shadow water cured banelings of the plague and slowed the creation of the banelings army.
Merlin felt bad because the Keeper tricked him. The Creator spoke with Merlin in his dream, but the Keeper changed her words. She said, "Cailich mustn't die, she must survive to stop the Keeper's plan. The Mord-Siths, Sisters of the Dark and D'Haran soldiers want to kill her." The Keeper changed the words to "Cailich must die—if you don't kill her, the Keeper will rule the land of the living. You must stop the Keeper's plan at all costs. Mord-Siths, Sisters of the Dark and D'Haran soldiers will try protecting her."
"You do your best, Merlin," Gaius and Richard reassured him. "At least we saved lots of people tortured by the banelings plague, and we saved the dragons."
"Thank you," said Merlin. "I needed that."
