Destiny: The Taken King Cinematic Trailer Music
In the darkness of space, a massive vessel drifts within the rings of a gaseous planet. The vessel's design is a consistent rectangular hexahedron along its length, while the ends curve inward like an inverted pyramid. Four main spines protrude from the bow; numerous lesser spines protrude outward from both bow and aft. The ship has one single, enormous engine. Near the aft, two gigantic dishes are built into the hull. A massive empty circle swords the ship, as if all the pieces of ice, rock, and dust have been pushed away by a massive pulse.
This is the Dreadnaught, the Flagship of the Hive, and the personal vessel of the Swarm's late ruler.
Oryx, the Taken King.
Ever since Oryx was defeated by the Guardians of the Last City, activity aboard this mighty vessel had been at an all-time low. However, that was four years ago.
Suddenly, across the hull of the mighty vessel, a flicker of dark energy swept across, converging onto one single point.
The Altar of Oryx
Within the Tower, three guardians are gathered in the Hall where the leaders of the Vanguard would often commute to discuss missions, defenses for the last city, developments, anything and everything related to the safety and security of the last safe haven for humanity. The guardians in the room were Commander Zavala, the Titan Vanguard, an Awoken male wearing heavy armor; Ikora Rey, the Warlock Vanguard, a dark-skinned human woman; and another Titan wearing a complete armor set of the Sunbreak armor, painted with a Metro Shift color scheme.
With his helmet placed on the table, his Ghost floating by his side, the Titan had his arms folded as he spoke with both the Vanguard leaders. They were hashing it out over the developments regarding the Last City's enemies: the Pyramid, what the Titan saw when he entered it, the Cabal and the Almighty; whatever was trying to kill them. It was going back and forth for some time until they were interrupted when a new voice spoke up.
"The Darkness within the Dreadnaught has stirred," said the owner of the voice as she entered the Hall. Wearing muddy brown armor, a headwrap, and blindfold over where her eyes would be. The most notable characteristics about this individual were the orb she carried with her and the three glowing eyes that pierced through her blindfold as black tears rolled down her face, "Just as it spoke when Oryx arrived and the Pyramid's discovery, it has spoken once more."
"Eris, we are in the middle of a discussion," stated Zavala.
In Saturn's orbit, a jumpship entered the planet's orbit, appearing similar to an old SR-71 Blackbird with several modifications. The jumpship's engines propelled the vessel towards the Dreadnaught wherefrom the cockpit, the Titan and his ghost could see pulses of dark energy sweep across the colossal ship's hull.
"It speaks now because the Hive has acted once more."
The ship flew closer to the Dreadnaught and headed to where they first stepped foot on the Dreadnaught 4 years ago since the ship had been repaired. The jumpship swung near the mighty vessel and the Titan and his ghost were deposited onto the ship, armed with as many weapons as was required and many more. Presently, the Titan was carrying what looked like a cross between a rifle and a minigun.
"We are already aware of The Pyramid, thanks to your and Ryan's efforts," replied Zavala as he glanced at the Titan across from him.
"Don't think she's here to remind us of our problem on the moon," countered Ryan as he turned to Eris Morn, "This something else isn't it?"
Inside the halls of the Dreadnaught, Ryan fought his way through the hordes of the Hive, gunning down Thralls, Acolytes, Knights, and Wizards alike. Nothing would stand in his way and if something did, he had plenty of other weapons he could break out and unleash on the Hive. Unlike the last time he was aboard this ship, he was heading to another part of the colossal vessel: one he had not been to before.
"Ever since their king's defeat, the Blood of Oryx and the Taken crave for their master's return."
Rounding a corner, Ryan leaped into the air, then seemingly pushed off nothing to glide higher up over two Ogres who appeared to be guarding a door of some kind. When they saw the Guardian, both monsters roared as they fired their barrages of void energy. While in the air, the Titan suddenly formed a rocket launcher, Gjallarhorn, and fired two rockets, one for each Ogre. The projectiles collided with their targets, exploding on impact, and killing the beasts. Landing back down on the ground, Ryan sent the weapon back to his digital vault and faced the door.
Charging towards the massive doorway, the Titan's body suddenly burst with Arc energy as he drew closer to the obstacle in front of him. Leaping into the air, the Titan let out a battle cry as he brought his hands together, interlocking his fingers, and brought his strike down against the door. The obstacle to the Guardian was removed almost instantly as the doors were thrown open into this new area while the Titan landed in a crouch and from behind his mask, his eyes widened when he saw what was in the room.
Numerous Taken were scattered throughout the massive area, as were several dozen Hive. However, what had Ryan's full focus were the two hive Wizards who appeared to be performing a spell of some kind in conjunction with the power to Take, a power that was only used by only one being.
The energies from the spell converged to a massive throne of osmium and slowly began forming a vessel, a body.
"The Hive and Taken-,"
It was then the body took on a very familiar appearance and a dark growl rumbled through the entire throne room.
"Are attempting to resurrect their King."
'Ryan? Can you hear me?'
The Titan groaned as he sat up and immediately, he took notice of his surroundings, for one thing, where he was, looked nothing like the inner halls of the Dreadnaught. Also, there weren't any Hive either rushing towards him intending to tear him to pieces, shoot him, or slice him in half with their cleaver. Examining the area a bit more, he noted that the floor appeared metal and was also illuminated by red lights.
"Ah... Rook?" said Ryan as he got to his feet and held his head, "What happened?"
'That might be difficult to explain,' replied the ghost to the Guardian.
"Why is that?" asked the Titan as he headed to what looked like the right direction. Upon exiting the corridor, the Guardian stopped in his tracks to only look in surprise as milling about were dozens of humans but more than that, multiple other creatures clearly not human but not Fallen, Cabal, or Hive either.
'I have no idea where we are,' stated the Ghost as Ryan took in all his surroundings.
"What do you make of him?" asked a man sitting in a chair within an empty room. He has close-cropped silver-grey hair with "steely blue" eyes which appear to be prosthetic. He was wearing what looked like a sort of futuristic business suit. The office the man was in had a very large screen that displayed what looked like a star but also had multiple readings and updates appearing around the edges. In the man's hands was a manila folder, opened up to reveal several photographs of Ryan.
"It is difficult to say," replied a woman with a slightly Australian accent, standing across from the man. She had long black hair that reached down a little past her shoulders, caucasian skin, and blue eyes. She was also wearing a type of suit of her own, with the main body being white with a hexagonal pattern going over it while the sleeves were black.
"But it is obvious he has been trained."
Ryan was making his way down a corridor, his Auto Rifle drawn as he gunned down Geth Troopers left and right with deadly accuracy. Pausing at the entrance to a larger area, the Titan peered into the room to see a huge Geth Prime standing in the center with several other Troopers. In the room were several containers. The Titan snorted as he almost felt insulted by the easy targets.
In his hand, a grenade formed and after cracking his neck he charged right in. Tossing the grenade towards a line a Troopers, the device exploded, sending a line of fire in the direction of the Troopers, setting them ablaze. The other Geth turned to fire at the Guardian, but Ryan was already shooting, the mini-gun/assault rifle combo unleashed with a deadly fury of bullets that tore through the robots.
"And trained well."
Placing the Auto Rifle on his back, the guardian then slides on the ground, taking out two sidearms and fired a spray at the other Geth before turning his attention to the Geth Prime. The Massive machine was firing its light machine guns at the Guardian, forcing him to take cover behind a container. Putting the side arms away, he reached for his belt and drew a massive 17 1/2" black bowie knife, the blade a reflective silver. Tossing the knife in his hand, he grabbed the sharp weapon by the tip. Jumping out from his cover, he threw the knife with all his might and the blade hurtled through the air and stabbed the Geth Prime right in its single eye.
The machine let out a series of mechanical squawk and beeps as it took a step back. With it blind, Ryan charged right towards the Geth and rammed his shoulder right into its leg. The impact knocked the machine down onto its knee, allowing the Titan to grab it by the back of the head and yank it further down so that he could place it into a headlock.
The machine beeped wildly as the Guardian began squeezing tighter and tighter and tighter before actually ripping the head right off. While the body fell, Ryan held the head of the Geth Prime taking his knife out from the machine's eye and then tossing the head to the body of the broken machine.
"Like he has been fighting ever since he was born."
Hearing other footsteps, the Guardian turned to see two others approaching. One was a human woman, about six foot two inches, wearing black armor with the characters 'N7' on her right peck. A red and white strip went down her right arm. Her armor lacked a helmet and left her head exposed, revealing her red shoulder-length hair, light skin, and green eyes. She was carrying an assault rifle.
The other individual was not human, but an alien Ryan came to know as a Turian. Standing at about six feet, with two long, proportionately thick fingers and an opposable thumb on each hand, each tipped with talons, and a set of mandibles around their mouths. Wearing an armor similar to that of the woman, the Turian carried a sniper rifle.
"Got to say, Ryan," commented the redhead woman as she and the Titan were sitting in what looked like a lounge at the bar, each with their own beverage, "You seem to pull off some insane stunts on the regular."
"Trust me, Shepard," replied the Guardian, "I've had a lot of practice and more than a few enemies to get that practice."
In the black void, a debris field seemed to appear from out of nowhere. The pieces all appeared to come from a ship of some kind. A very large one at that. From the darkness, a dark, horrible growl was heard as a pulse of black and white energy swept across the debris field followed. The pieces of junk suddenly began converging on a single point.
"You might think you have all the angles, but you don't," stated Ryan as he glared at the man in the office, "It's not just humanity's existence on the line."
"We are more than aware of the Reapers," spoke up the black-haired woman.
"Believe me, Miranda," replied the Titan as he glanced at her from the corner of his eye.
A dark shadow rose up and swept across a large field. On the ground were dozens of the Reapers ground forces. The creatures all turned to see what it was and saw it create a massive sword in its right hand. The beast was easily 27 feet tall, with organic red and burgundy armor. What stood out most were the three glowing eyes and the massive wings that flared out as it growled with dark intent.
"I wish I was."
The creature let out a roar as it leaped into the air, its wings giving it extra lift as it raised its sword and brought it down on the closest Reaper.
