Storm was asleep in a tree. Most cats slept on the ground in a nest, but then, Storm wasn't most cats. She twitched in her sleep as she attempted to dream her way into Starclan for another rant.
She felt a gentle breeze on her fur, and when she opened her eyes, she found herself standing in a sunlit clearing. Why it was day in Starclan when it should be night was beyond her. She looked around for nearby Starclan cats, but none were to be seen. Probably because they didn't want to listen to Storm rant again. She picked a random direction and started running in search of Starclan cats. As she pelted through the forest, she caught sight of a starry white pelt.
"Hey Snowfur!" She called. "Gather all the Starclan cats for a clan meeting, because I've got something important to talk about!"
Snowfur groaned when she saw Storm, but didn't dare disobey the she-cat. After all, if she did, she'd either end up as the subject for Storm's next rant, or she would feel Storm's claws. Once the cats of Starclan gathered, which, to Storm's annoyance, took quite a while, Storm climbed onto a nearby tree branch to yell at the foolish cats below.
"I'm sure you're all wondering why I brought you here…"
"Hey!" Yowled Snowfur. "I'm the one who gathered them!"
Storm hissed. "Silence! You gathered them under my orders. Now, the subject of my rant is…." She paused for dramatic effect. "Mapleshade!"
"Wait, what? What'd I do?" Mapleshade asked.
"Someone get that Dark Forest cat outta here! She doesn't belong in Starclan!" Spottedleaf yowled.
"LEAVE MAPLESHADE ALONE!" Storm yelled. "She needs to be here for this. So sure. She broke the code and took that stupid, arrogant, cheating little brat known as Appledusk as her mate. And yes, Appledusk was cheating on her. I'll get to that in a moment. So she broke the code, had kits, and allowed the clan to believe the father was Birchface. And she was EXILED for it. Not just her though… Her kits were exiled right along with her. The warrior code says to protect all kits, so technically the clan broke the code as well! And as if that wasn't bad enough, she was forced to swim across a flooded river, lose all three of her kits, only for Appledusk to dump her and for Riverclan to drive her out! Other cats have committed far worse crimes. Like Leafpool and Crowfeather! Crowfeather broke one code, and Leafpool broke TWO. Yet they weren't exiled! Leafpool got demoted, and maybe they lost their clanmates' trust for a little while, but they got off lightly compared to Mapleshade! And Graystripe and Silverstream. One, Silverstream was better before she became mates with Graystripe. And two, Graystripe is accepted into Riverclan, then back into Thunderclan, and is later made DEPUTY! Where is the sense in that!? Back to Mapleshade. She went a little crazy, hallucinating her kits, who told her to take revenge. Okay. She did make some questionable choices. However, if the clans hadn't been so harsh, it wouldn't have happened that way. So. What's my opinion? Both sides are in the wrong, however, Mapleshade did not deserve her fate. Also, 'bout Appledusk cheating on Mapleshade. He and Reedshine were clearly very close. After all, Reedshine was willing to stand up for him, and you wouldn't really do that for a cat you weren't that close to. So that means, while Appledusk was with Mapleshade, he was also with Reedshine. Good grief, did he even care for Mapleshade at all? Mapleshade, you're better off without that piece of fox-dung."
The cats of Starclan murmured quietly in agreement as they started to see the sense in Storm's words. But Storm wasn't done yet.
"Good, you starry fools are starting to see sense. But wait, there's more! Snowfur! You died from a car- sorry, monster hitting you- on the road- I mean, Thunderpath. But you were chasing a Shadowclan cat. He was running away, and was back on his territory. You shouldn't have chased him. It's your own fault you died!"
"That's a little harsh," Bluestar meowed.
"Maybe so," Storm agreed, "But true nonetheless. Anyway, that's it for this rant. You Starclan cats are free to go."
"I thought she'd never let us leave," meowed a grey she-cat.
"I heard that, Yellowfang!"
Storm watched the cats go, and she began to fade from Starclan as she woke up. She sat up in the tree, and started planning her next rant.
Wow, didn't think I'd end up making two chapters of this. Guess I had more to rant about than I thought. Will there be another rant? Maybe. If I find something else unsatisfactory, and I probably will. Hope you enjoyed it and stay safe! :)
