Day 5
Finn Collins has always been an outsider. He never felt welcome, to him he was a guest in a foreign place. Ava felt like she didn't have a home, to her she was always in a cage. Could this be the freedom they both need...
Finn's POV.
'I kissed her, she kissed me. Clarke thought I was her boyfriend. Our we that cute? Obviously.' I thought to myself. Maybe her and I could have something.
"Finn, I need you to help me get some plants." Clarke said. She was sitting at a table with Monty. I was leaning on the all my arms crossed, my right ankle over my left.
"Ok." I said. Octavia and Bellamy came in.
"Bellamy, perfect just the guy I needed," Clarke was standing in front of Bellamy. "I need some of these special plants, I need you to come with me. And we could hunt while we're out." Bellamy thought about it, he nodded.
"Can me and Ava come?" Octavia said. She was standing in the doorway with Ava. She looked good. She always looks good.
"No, you'll get, and Ava will just zone out and walk off a cliff." He said. Ava chuckled to herself. Octavia got closer to him, she was yelling at him. Clarke looked bored. Ava was mouthing to Clarke.
"*Let's go.*" She mouthed. Clarke nodded. Bellamy and Octavia didn't notice them leave. I thought about following them, but Monty asked me for help.
Ava's POV
Clarke and I headed towards the forest. She was going on about some plants, she was getting some of it wrong. So I would correct her, she would roll her eyes. We had a far walk to go. so instead of telling her to can it like everyone else, I kept telling her to tell me more.
~ Flashback ~ Narrator's POV
"You see Ava, all those green spots?" Marcus asked, Ava nodded. "Those are filled with trees, grass and flowers." She watched the earth from her small window. "And at the top of earth there's snow and at the bottom."
"What's snow like?" She said not taking her eyes off the wonderous planet. He looked at her confusion on in his eyes.
"I-I don't know. In books it's really cold and wet. It melts in your hands and you can build snowballs and snowman." She giggled at his words.
"Snowman? People made out of snow? Walking around and talking?"
"What? No, they were like statues not real people." Marcus just found out he had a daughter four months ago. He was shocked but happy.
"Sir, Abby needs you." One of his guards said. He nodded.
"I'll see you later today." Ava nodded not taking her eyes off earth. He walked out leaving her. Ava was always interested in Astrology. Ocean taught her.
"Ocean..." Ava said sadness crossing her face.
~ End of Flashback ~ Clarke's POV
I know Ava wasn't listening to me, but it was nice to be able to talk and not be told orders.
"I think we're close." I say.
"It right there by that stream." She said pointing to a stream to her right.
"What?" I look to were she's pointing. "No, there up the there." I pointed towards the path we were on.
"No! The plant you are Looking for grow by streams."
"No they don't! How do you even know, you spend your life locked up."
"My mother studied plants. Me and my sister know plants when we see them." She looked hurt. I kinda felt bad, she never brings up her mother or her sister.
"Oh." We walked towards the stream. "Ha, you were right... Sorry." I say grabbing some of the plants.
"Yep." She sat on a rock playing with her hands. I felt really bad.
"Hey I'm... I'm sorry." She looked up. "About your mom and sister." She looked behind her.
"I'm sorry about your dad." She said it so coldly. I could tell she was trying to get a reaction out of me.
"We should go now." It was getting late. I stood up and started walking she followed.
~ Back at camp ~
I went to the dropship, Monty was still working at his desk. Bellamy, Octavia and Finn walked towards me. 'what do they want?' I thought to myself.
"Where's Ava?" Bellamy said. I looked around.
"She was just here, we came in to camp together?" I say.
"No, you came in to camp alone. Where is she?" Octavia said.
"I swear she followed me in to camp. We left together and... She's gone?" I whispered that last part to myself.
"What do you mean gone?" Bellamy says getting closer to me. I was thinking about the last place I saw her, the last place I heard her footsteps.
"She... She's in the woods. Possible still at the stream." I say walking past them, out of the dropship. I almost reached the gates when Bellamy grabbed my arm, forcing me to look at him.
"You can't leave, the grounders are out there. And it's dark." I hadn't noticed that it was night time.
"But she's out there."
"We'll go at sun rise." I nodded.
"If she dies it's on your head." I storm off to the dropship.
Ava's POV
I heard everything they said. I was just behind her but I saw a female deer and wanted to pet it. Which I did before it rambed me in the stomach. Ha, funny me. I saw her go in camp, but I didn't want to go in camp yet so I stayed behind. I was leaning in the wall playing with some flowers. When I heard Bellamy and Clarke.
"Shit!" I whispered yelled to myself. "I'm in so much shit! They are going to kill me. I can't walk in there now." I thought about what they would say. Then it hit me. "I'll just stay in the woods. I'll sleep by the pond, and when they find me I'll say ' I got dizzy then blacked out.'" They would believe me. I haven't eaten anything. I stood up and started my journey towards the pond.
*SNAP*
Something or someone was following me. I kept walking picking up the paste. I heard footsteps getting closer to me. I started walking faster. The footsteps got closer to me. I ran as fast as I could. I thought about if it was Octavia or Bellamy or anyone else, but they would have said it was them. I was almost to the pond. Pain ran all over my body I couldn't breathe or move, I was frozen. I was flipped on my back.
"*Gasp* h-hel-p *Gasp*" I tried to speak, but every word caused more pain in my lungs. I was in complete darkness, I didn't know if my eyes were open or not.
"No one's coming for you." A heavy object hit my head. I lay there unconscious.
Fear. Fear is a strong thing it can make you do so unthinkable things, it can change you to be badass or chicken. Ava may have been sceard of what the others might say, but now she's unconscious and doesn't know where she's going...
