Heya, sorry it's been awhile. I got sucked into the BnHA fanfiction fandom pretty badly and have only just now managed to dig my way out.
There are so so so many fan fics in that fandom that it's not funny.

Anyhoo, I was really surprised at all the views and hits I got for the month of March.
It's more then Dec, Jan and Feb combined and at first I was really confused, but then I realised that it's cause DMC5 came out this month.
Whoop whoop. It didn't completely click until I was about halfway through this chapter since it had alot of things i need to look up in the devilmaycry wiki.
(Devilmaycry wiki is my friend) That's were I saw how they had updated the profiles of the character to include the DMC5 info.
Tell you what I was practically vibrating I was fangirling so hard. If it wasn't for the fact that it was still downloading I would have totally left this chapter in it's partly done state while I played it.
Though now I'm in a slightly calmer state I might replay DMC4 first before starting DMC5 just to refresh myself.

Okay, on to responding to comments from the last chapter.

ZER0HER0-I'm glad you like Shiro, I was a bit worried since she's a OC that people might be a bit annoyed with her, so nice to know she's accepted.
I will be adding Paddy and Dante's love for strawberry sundays in this fic as well. i just haven't found a way to include the sunday's yet that is believeable.
I mean it just doesn't seem plausible for them to be delivered tall glass an all. I will have them reunited with each other at some point though.
As for Paddy believe it or not she was actually schedule to appear in the next chapter before I got your comment. So you'll get to see her interact wih Shiro soon.

reddevil47- Yay the first member of the 'Shiro Protection Squad'. I hearby name you president. Glad you like Shiro my little OC baby.

supboyyyyy93- Thanks for enjoying my story.
I always love to hear from the readers and honestly comments like these really do inspire me to keep writing.

A big thanks to everyone who followed and favourited too, it really means alot.

Now on to the next chapter.

DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN DMC OR IT"S CHARACTERS. IF I DID I WOULD HAVE ALREADY FINISHED DMC5 BEFORE THE TRAILERS WERE EVEN RELEASED.

Devil Children

Chapter 8

The group of demon hunters had eventually settled themselves back in the front section of the shop.
The red devil was working on breaking in his new office chair, already in his customary position with his feet on the desk, leaning back and hands behind his head. He'd forgone the usual magazine covering his face to hide his napping form due to the fact that it was pretty pointless to even try with the amount of people currently in the same room.
While Vergil was sitting on the new couch reading yet another book and been his typical silent antisocial self, the two huntress and ex-order member where currently having a game of pool and the amount of teasing, jeers, cursing and laughter at others misfortune would have made it impossible for even the most stubborn or bone wearily exhausted person unable to sleep.
Which normally would have put him in a foul mood, but he was currently seated in the comfiest chair he'd ever sat in, had a full stomach, some old rock song playing in the background and spent the day stylishly kicking some demon ass.
So, all in all he was in a pretty fantastic mood.

Hearing footsteps he turned his head to see Shiro enter from the back having finished the dishes and taken of the pink frilly apron she had previously been wearing. Moving past the three still in the middle of a match she walked to the side of the shop entrance where a ladder and two big doors were currently leaning against the wall.
'Huh,' Dante thought, not having noticed them before in his mad rush in before.
The female teen picked up the ladder first and set it in the doorway before climbing to the top and rummaging in the toolkit attached to one of the ladder steps. Wondering what the girl was doing the red twin had to fight from chocking on the gulp of beer he had just taken when the white-haired huntress shot out a ghostly apparition of her devil bringer to pick up one of the two doors and hold it in place in the doorway as she began to secure its hinges.

He wasn't the only one who had turned to watch as the sounds of balls been hit and the turning of pages had come to a stop.
"Woah," Lady whistled, "didn't know you could do that."
Shiro after finishing securing a screw turned her head to look down at her, noticing that everyone was currently staring at her.
"What do you mean? Hasn't nii-san done this with his devil bringer before?" She asked confused.
"Well yeah, but I've only really used 'snatch' for fighting or missions," the ex-order member clarified, "not something so um…"
"mundane," Vergil supplied turning back to his book.
Nero shot him a glare at been so blunt even if that was what he had been thinking.
"Oh," the female teen nodded, having turned back to working on the next screw. "So, you call this 'snatch' then. I see."
She moved a few steps down and without even moving the door currently in the grip of her ghostly appendage she moved to the next hinge.
"Well I suppose using 'snatch' for something like this does seem a little overkill per say but these doors are about a ton and it would require more then one person to fit them in normally. Doing it this way is just more efficient. Why not use what advantage I have?"

"Suppose that makes sense," Dante chuckled."
The blonde huntress walked over and rapped a knuckle over the other door, raising an eyebrow at how solid it sounded.
"This is made pretty sturdy, what's it made of?"
The long-haired devil had finished attaching or four hinges to the door and was now checking if it opened and closed properly.
"The outside is just normal wood panels, but the core is metal. So, it's strong enough to stop a bullet. The doors seemed like they took a lot of abuse, so I figured the stronger the better."
No one felt the heart to mention that half of that abuse was from the people currently in the room. Moving on to setting the other door into place the female teen glanced at the red devil.
"So how did you acquire all your devil arms? You seem to have amassed quite a collection."

The red twin smirked at this, quite liking having his ego stroked.
"Thanks. It's a good thing you didn't touch them either since thy can get a bit uh moody with others."
Vergil rolled his eyes at this, "really Dante? Moody?"
His twin just shrugged.
"I'm quite aware. Unless with the permission or defeat of the current owner it would be stupid to even attempt such a thing."
"How'd you tell they were devil arms?" Nero asked, not bothering to mention that he had picked up Cerberus once when he had just moved in and nearly been frozen solid if it hadn't been for the old man grabbing the demonic nunchaku from his hands and calling the demon off.
Not one of his smartest ideas and the ribbing he had gotten from the red hunter had gone on for a whole week.
"I can sense their demonic signatures. Clear enough to see what kind of demon they were at least and they're all pretty high level. They didn't answer me when I asked how they came to serve you either because they've been told not to talk or because they don't want to talk with me. So, it's why I'd thought to ask you."

"What you can?" The teenage hunter asked amazed as well as a little embarrassed.
Shiro nodded and pointed at the familiar tripartite nunchaku.
"That one is a three headed hellhound with the ability to control ice."
Dante whistled, "wow, spot on. That's exactly what he is. Pretty impressed you were able to tell that much just from his signature."
"It might be due to her been more demon, she's most likely more attune to them and they're signatures then we are," Vergil theorised finger tapping on the spine of his book as he went over the number of facts, he currently had available. "It could be worthwhile doing some more research on the matter at a latter time."
His twin gave him a small nod before turning back to the young huntress. "Anyway, the devil arm you so clearly pointed out is Cerberus. He was one of the first demons I fought and defeated in Temen-ni-gru."

The female teen froze at this, "wasn't Temen-ni-gru a tower that acted as a gateway to the demon world among other things."
Dante rubbed the back of his head, "uh yeah, it's kind of a long story."
The odd eyed huntress laughed bitterly at this, "some idiot though it's be a good idea to break the seals on it and open a gateway to hell in order to get more power." She turned her different colour eyes of the blue devil then who was glaring at their so coldly it was a wonder the room didn't ice over.
The red hunter decided to quickly diffuse the tension in the room before it someone was either stabbed or shot.
"Anyway, it isn't a problem since it was destroyed, and no one is going to try and unseal it again."
He shot a glance at Vergil as if to confirm this and watched him scoff and look away.
Figuring that was a good enough answer he turned to the human huntress, "It was after defeating Cerberus that I first met Lady as well. She burst through the window on a motorbike and shot a missile at me, not that it worked out to well."

The odd-eyed huntress crossed her arms, "yeah but I did shoot you in the face not long after that, twice."
The red hunter scowled, "yeah after caught you and saved you from falling and becoming 'just a pretty stain', and I caught the second shot."
"Hey, I didn't need you saving me I was able to save myself just fine thank you very much."
"You shot him in the face?" Shiro asked, confused.
"Huh? Oh yeah, wouldn't be the first time it happened, and likely not the last." Lady replied finally calming down a bit seeing the perplexed look on the female teens face.
The blonde devil nodded, "yeah I stabbed him with his own sword while electrocuting him when we first met."
"I've lost track of how many times I've run him through with Yamato," Vergil added, finally turning back to his book.
"Yeah, everyone seems to either shoot him or stab him when first meeting him, or reuniting in Vergil case," Trish added.
Shiro turned to look at he brother, "nii-san?"
The ex-order member had the decency to look sheepish, thumbing his nose and looking away from his sisters piercing ocean blue eyes the same shade as his own. "Uh, I kinda pinned him to a statue of his father with his own sword upon meeting him."
The human huntress gave him a pat on the shoulder, "it's fine, it's fine. Not like it'll kill him anyway. It's like a right of passage."
"Hey!" The red twin exclaimed scowling at the lot of them.

The white-haired female mulled this over for a bit and when she finally did speak it seemed sort of hesitant, "so…. does that mean…. I should…. shoot or stab Dante then?"
The silence at that moment was so thick it wouldn't have been surprising for a tumbleweed to appear and roll across the floor. It only lasted a moment though as in the next they're were numerous people talking at once.
"OH MY GOD YES! You totally need to shoot him in the face," the odd eyed huntress yelled while giggling madly.
"If you feel you want to dear then sure, he usually warrants it," Trish said trying to cover the smile she had on her face with her hand.
Nero was barely able to stand and was holding onto the side of the pool table for deal life as he laughed so hard, he couldn't breathe.
Even the blue twin was struggling not to show amusement at his brother's expense, eyebrow raised, and the corners of his lips raised ever so slightly in the barest trace of a smile. "I much prefer stabbing him personally."
"WHAT? NO, DON'T LISTEN TO THESE MONSTERS!" Dante screamed bolting over and startling the young huntress as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders, hugging her to his chest as he placed his body between her and the four other hunters in the room.
Shooting a glare at the unapologetic group behind, "don't go corrupting her you pair of harpies," he said to the two females by the pool table.
"You're meant to back up your brother too, Verge not throw him under a bus," the red hunter growled at his twin who just narrowed his eyes at been called Verge yet again.
Then the red devil turned his gaze on the final member who had managed to finally take a deep breath through all that laughing, "and you, shouldn't you be the first one to tell your little sister that she shouldn't go around maiming people?"
The ex-order member just grinned sinisterly back at him, "only those who don't deserve it."

The red twin spluttered at this, "really? You're all evil. Worse then demons I tell you. Demons."
Trish gave up trying to hide her smile and addressed the girl who was hidden from view still by the red hunter.
"Ignore him sweetie. He can be a bit of a drama queen sometimes. If he ever does something to annoy you greatly then feel free to shoot, stab or somehow lethally hurt him in any way. He can pretty much heal from anything, so you don't have to worry about him kicking the bucket and it is a nice form of stress relieve. Sadly, he never learns from them either and still remains the annoying idiot he always has been."
"Okay, if I ever think Dante deserves it then I'll do it," Shiro replies, her voice slightly muffled since her face was still stuck buried in Dante's chest.
The elder hunter looked down at her in disbelief before throwing his arms in the air as if to as the heavens why they had forsaken him before crossing them and turning away with a pout.
"I've been betrayed by everyone. You know just because it doesn't kill me doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. Why don't you all try been shot in the head and see if you like it."

The red devil felt a hand gently patting his head and looked to see that the female teen was patting his head as if consoling a child.
He would have been insulted at this if it wasn't for the fact, she had to stand on her tip toes and could just barely reach if her trembling from was to be believed.
"It's ok Dante, I don't think you've done anything that would deserve that kind of punishment. So, you don't have to worry about me doing anything like that to you." She keeps patting his hair wobbling even more as the strain of staying on the very tips of her toes becomes even more difficult.
The red twin can't help chuckling at the sight and gives Shiro's hair a messy ruffle, knocking her flat back on her feet. "Thanks for that Small Fry."
"Give it time. You'll do something that will warrant you been shot in the head by her one day. Probably soon to," Lady said sagely.
"If you're just going to keep trying to get me maimed you can leave," Dante grumbled stomping back to his desk.
The odd eyed huntress grinned flashing her teeth at him, heading to the entrance, "don't worry I was going to head out around now anyway."
The blonde devil stopped leaning on the pool table and followed the other huntress, "same here. Thanks for the meal sweetie it was delicious."
"Yeah see ya Shiro."
The pair left through the one fully secured door waving at the long-haired devil as they went.
"Good riddance," the red hunter huffed.

Wanting to get back to the previous topic before it had completely derailed the female teen went back to securing the final door before speaking, "so what about your other devil arms? You never got to finish telling me about them."
"Oh, guess your right. Got a bit off topic there," Dante supposed.
Pointing at an electric guitar he said, "this here is Nevan. She's another I fought in Temen-ni-gru. She's sort of a vampiric fairy that shoots lightning and summons bats. I can play some killer music on her though and she even doubles as a scythe."
"The two scimitars are Agni and Rudra. Agni is the red one while Rudra is the blue and they can control fire and wind respectfully. They're an annoying pair of chatterboxes though and it's only because I threaten to toss them in a garbage heap that they've shut up when not been addressed," the red hunter explained before gesturing at a set of gauntlets and greaves, "that one is Beowulf. He was some weird half blind lion, four bird winged scorpion tailed thing. Managed to blind him completely and needed up finding him as a devil arm when Temen-ni-gru collapsed. Though I'm not sure how that happened."

"If you're talking about that pathetic light beast it attacked me thinking I was you and was swiftly dealt with. I ended up losing it when I fell, so it's only thanks to me that you have that demon in your possession," Vergil clarified not even bothering to look up from his book.
His twin turned to him with a surprised expression, "really? Well thanks Verge. Anyway, the one that's a bit similar to Beowulf but with some extra pieces is Gilgamesh. I acquired him after beating this weird snake lady and destroying their hell gate in Fortuna."
The ex-order member sat up from where he was leaning against the pool table at this. "I remember her, didn't know you thought her too."
The red hunter smirked at the male teen. "Well I had to finish the job someone started but didn't finish. Besides you were to busy been stuck in some giant floating statue at the time," Dante teased.
"Fuck you, just whose arse did I have to fucking chase over the whole god damn island in the first place," the young hunter swore.
The elder hunter just winked at this to the teen's fury.
"Anywayyyy, I got Pandora, the brief case looking one, after destroying the hell gate guarded by some ugly toad and his brothers. It has over 666 forms all of which are totally badass. The exoskeleton looking devil arm is Lucifer and it can shoot out numerous exploding swords. The demon guarding that hell gate was some pompous wannabe who kept going on about Sparda this and Sparda that. Gosh it was satisfying to knock him down a peg or five."

Nero groaned at that, "yeah that jerk was an annoying pain in the arse and the toad was just disgusting."
The white-haired female looked between them both for a bit as they lost themselves in past memories before clearing her throat, "what about the lightning dragon and fire jinn?"
The red twin frowned confused, "the what?"
Tilting her head, the girl pointed at sword with a dragon head and a pair of black and orange gauntlets.
"Oh, you mean Alastair and Ifrit. Is that what they look like? I never got to see them in their demons' forms since they were already demon arms when I found them."
"Mhmm, as near as I can tell," Shiro nodded.
Looking at a massive partially flesh and spine covered sword she continued, "that is Sparda's sword, it's signature reeks of his power even after all this time."
"Uh yeah, guess you would know about that one. It's pretty easy to tell now that it's awakened, before then it was just a standard sword called Force Edge," Dante sighed looking over his shoulder, "I don't tend to use it much, so it just sits there unless Trish has a need for it. Rebellion works for me just good enough."

"How'd you end up getting Rebellion anyway old man? I don't think I've ever seen you without that sword if you can help it," the ex-order member noted looking at the red hunters signature weapon.
"It was a gift from my old man. I got Rebellion while Verge got Yamato. It's why he's so touchy about it," the red twin answered winking at his blue twin when he received an icy glare for that comment.
"That's about it for the devil arms, the rest are just normal weapons I've picked up over the years. So, what about you Short Stack? Care about showing of your arsenal," Dante inquired, his curiosity about the younger devils' weapons peaked.

Climbing down from the last step of the ladder the long-haired huntress set the ladder of to the side as she checked the newly fitted door before closing it and it's pair the sound of the locking mechanism ringing through the room.
Dusting herself off she grabbed a small bag, taking a key from it before she placed on the red hunter's desk.
Looking inside he saw more of the same and guessed they had to be for the new doors and quickly pocketed one before chucking a key at the other two hunters much to their displeasure.
Seeing there was still some left he resolved to give Lady and Trish a copy when he saw them next.
Raising his eyes, he watched the girl in front of him wondering if she was going to answer or not.
Deep blue eyes, much darker then his own watched him for what felt like eons but was most likely only a few seconds before the girl raised her right arm.
It was covered in what looked like a fingerless white leather glove that ended before her elbow.
Numerous small bluish-green metal interlocking plates reminiscent of scales covered the top of the glove while the metal on the wrist seemed to contain a small gap and left the leather of the palm uncovered.

Flicking her wrist, a small bladed shot out from the gap, startling at least two of the rooms occupants who hadn't expected it.
"This is my devil arm Oorachi. A giant poisonous white snake demon of untold disaster. It doesn't seem like much, but the blade can paralyse, knock out or kill depending on the poison secreted. The poison can be changed at will."
The blade retracted with another flick of her wrist.
"Damn, sounds pretty deadly, though you'd have to get pretty close and personal with a weapon like that," the red hunter whistled.
Shiro nodded, "yes, that's why I have my other weapons."
The male teen looked around and frowned, "I don't see your other weapons. Did you put them away somewhere or are they still at Kyrie's?"
"They're here," she said lifting her devil bringer up.
"Wait what?" The other teen exclaimed.
"You are aware that your devil bringer is capable of storing demonic relics allowing you to use their power, correct?" The white-haired girl checked.
"Ah, yeah," the ex-order member confirmed looking at his own devil bringer.
"Well in the forging process of my other weapons my blood was added to the metal. This allows me to store them in my devil bringer as they contain my demonic signature due to this process."

Nero blinked at her mouth agape, "what?"
"Interesting," the blue twin remarked, "been able to impart your demonic signature on what is otherwise is a normal weapon. I've never heard of it before. Does it have any other uses apart from been able to absorb them into your demon arm?"
"It allows me to resonant with them more, charge them with my power as well as track them if needed. But it's mainly been able to absorb them that is most useful since it means I can always basically keep them on me without been restricted by social requirements or human whims," the huntress explained.
The red twin raised an eyebrow at this, "cool, you could basically just waltz through any security with a whole arsenal of weapons without anyone been the wiser." Holding her devil bringer out it glowed a bright blue of a moment before a black gun stylised with green and purple vines and silver sword materialised in her palm. "The sword is Silvervine and it's entire blade can be broken up into segments attached to a flexible metal core which can act like a whip. Making it good for close and mid range combat. The gun is called Nightshade and basically is a revolver capable of firing my condensed demonic energy as bullets. I have numerous small blades, needles and other such weapons too but these as well as Oorachi are my main fighting pieces. Not counting my devil bringer of course."

The ex-order member reached out for Nightshade before stopping.
Seeing Shiro give a small nod he picked up the gun and began examining it, his inner weapon smith geeking out.
"Woah the craftsmanship and detail on this is fricken awesome."
The white-haired devil gave a tiny smile at her twins enraptured expression before the red hunters voice caught her attention. "Well they're pretty an all but a weapons only as good as the one who wields it."

"Indeed," she replied her eyes staring intensely at his. "Maybe you get to see if I wield them adequately at some time."
Taking the gun back from Nero she absorbed them back into her devil bringer before picking up the ladder and taking it to the basement in the back.
Missing the looks the two sons of Sparda directed at her back.
One eager at having another person to spar with, the other sizing up an opponent who could end up been a threat.

And that's the end of chapter 8. Sorry if it is really fillery.
I needed a reasonable way for Shiro's gear to be introduced, plus I'm a sucker for them just generally interacting with each other in a causal setting.
I tried not to rehash too much of the games plot since most if not all would already be familar with this knowledge.
As for Alastor been a dragon and Ifrit been a jinn this is just pure whismy on my part, based on their design, names and outside info.
They are in no way Canon. Not that this fic is anyway, lol.
I was going to make demons for the Fortuna devil arms too but gave up.
The best idea I could come up with for Pandora was an eldrich horror demon monstrosity, while the other 2 were total blanks.

And yes, Oorachi is based of the assassin gauntlets from Assassins Creed. They just seemed too neat to pass up as a weapon for Shiro.

As stated above next chapter will feature Patty and is another chapter I've been looking forward to writing for awhile now.

Please comment, follow and favourite.
I love hearing from you guys, you're the main reason this story is still going and didn't just sit as a rough draft of Ch1 on my pc.

Thanks for reading,
