Sooooo that was a really long gap between chapters. I have to thank everyone who is willing to put up with my really erratic updates but I'm really disappointed with myself. So from now on I'm going to start giving myself a deadline to update by (since I usually get more motivated when I have a due date for something) which will be 3 months from the last posted chapter. That been said it doesn't mean that is the day I'm going to post a new chapter, it could be well before or even after. The point is that if I haven't posted a chapter by that date without giving a proper reason to declare why a chapter may be late I would like for you all to give me plenty of messages and reminded about posting the next chapter. I'm not going to use the word spam but please do feel free to message me to get my butt motivated and write the damn chapter :P I will post the deadline of the next chapter on my Authors Page so I and you can keep track of it for all of my current fan fic's. (Which is currently at only this one but I am hoping to start on another very soon).
Now during my absence a lot of new people have favorited and followed this fic which absolutely astounds me. Thank you all so much. You are the reason I keep doing this and give me the desire to keep writing.
I also had a few reviews which I'm going to reply to now.
reddevil47- Glad you thought I was okay at writing Patty. I still kinda want to rewatch the anime just to refresh myself up on her a bit. Yeah it's hard to believe Shiro was sleeping in a dirty room and you'll find out just how bad it was in this chap, sorry.
ZER0HER0- Thanks again for letting me know you think I was spot on with Patty. It really helps having you guys let me know how i go writing this. I know I love writing the interactions with everyone, you just can't as much of it with the games. Sure you have some deep moments and some emotional growth but it's cut up with lots of badass and stylish fighting and drama. Love the games don't get me wrong but I adore getting to flesh out the characters a bit more in a fic like this. Even if it is just them doing something mundane and normal. I think it would be interesting to write about Dante's alter ego. I was going to write a bit of backstory when Nero and Vergil first came to live at Devil May Cry separately before the start of chapter 1, later on in this fic, but I also kind of like the idea of having other flashbacks of the guys past as well. So I might give it a shot though it probably won't be until V pops up in the fic which isn't going to be for quite a bit.
supboyyyyy93- Awww thanks for thinking my little OC Shiro is adorable. She actually turned out slightly different from how I first imaged but I'm quite happy with how she turned out. Glad you seem happy to wait for my updates but I'm still really angry with myself for letting it go this long. Should be a bit more consistent now though :/
guest- *squee* glad you love the story so much. I honestly never imaged so many people would bother to read this fic let alone all the nice comments I've gotten for it. It totally makes my day and lets me know that all the work and energy i put into it are totally worth it :)
DISCLAIMER- I don't own Devil May Cry despite me sharing Dante's general laziness and love for pizza.
Devil Children
Chapter 10
As the heavy doors closed behind the two girls the tension in the shop seemed to increase.
Dante still held suspended in the air by the teenage hunter, held his hands up in the universal symbol of 'I'm not a threat', hoping that his submission would help stop the younger devil from trying to eviscerate him.
"Hey Verge you mind helping me out here? Please," he begged shooting his twin a slightly desperate look.
Sadly for him the blue twin had returned to his sword maintenance despite the high levels of murderous intent that all but consumed the room.
"No, I don't think I will," the blue devil replied with cold disinterest, "maybe you'll finally learn something after he castrates you."
The red twin chuckled weakly at that thinking his brother was making a joke. A poor, exceedingly gruesome and harsh joke, but still a joke none the less.
That was until he started to see the red begin to swallow the blue in the younger devils eyes and knew that maybe his brother was actually correct in his statement.
"Uh….Hey Kid, let's just talk about this calmly with out bloodshed. Okay?" The red hunter bargained.
Nero's scarlet eyes bore into his own unflinchingly before growling out, "one minute, after that I'm ripping you apart."
That threat caused the red devil to swallow nervously.
It wasn't the threat of violence or a fight that made him antsy but somehow irreparably burning the bridge between him and the young hunter.
He might not like to admit it but he really enjoyed having the teen around. He brought fire and excitement to his otherwise boring monotonous life.
Plus it was fun as heck to tease the kid since he always reacted to it.
Even hunting seemed more exhilarating even when facing small fry demons since now he had someone to compete with. But mostly it was because the kid ended up filling a bit of the void losing Vergil had left.
He'd might not have ever shown it but it had torn him up and no matter how much time had passed the pain never dulled or went away.
The wound still as raw and bleeding as that day so long ago he had watched him fall.
Sure his twin was back now and that pain was just a faint echo of what it had once been but the kid had helped without even realising back then.
So he did not want to mess this up and lose the kid.
Taking a breath the red hunter focused on the devil currently suspending him off the ground.
Geez he'd only ever seen the kid this angry once and that was when his adopted sister had been taken.
He should have guessed the kid had a sister complex.
He made a note to tease him about that at a later time when the situation wasn't so serious or tense.
"Nero," he started causing he teen to look at him in shock since the Dante never used his name unless something was very serious, "I know I don't set the best example at times but you must know I would never do anything to break your trust in me. Yes I may have admired the appearance of Pint Size but that was it. It is no different to the way I interact with Trish and Lady. I can admire them both as attractive, strong , intelligent women and maybe even flirt with them a little but I will never ever cross that line with them. I respect them to much and would much rather have them as family then do anything that would sully that bond. Understand, the same thing applies with you and the Sprout. I would never hurt you like that."
The teen devil remained silent during his little speech before eventually sighing the red in his eyes fading back into their natural ocean blue, before the hand holding him off the floor released him.
Shaking out his clothes that were bunched up from where the had been grabbed the red devil looked at the younger, "So, are we good Kid?"
With another sigh the ex order member nodded, "yeah we're good," before he punched the Dante in the face breaking his nose.
"Ow! What the hell Kid?" The red hunter asked clutching his nose before popping it back into the right position and letting his demonic healing repair the damage.
"Just because I understand you won't do anything more doesn't mean I'm not going to hit you for looking at my sister," Nero replied settling back into the couch and resuming his channel surfing.
Now it was the red devil's turn to sigh, "fair enough."
At least the kid hadn't used his devil bringer to punch him.
Shooting the blue devil a glare he grunted, "thanks for the assistance Verge."
His blue twin didn't even look up at him, "you seemed to have had it handled. Though I have to say I'm a bit disappointed you weren't eviscerated. I feel that would be a much more effective means of disciplining you then a mere punch would be."
Dante just threw his arms up at that before collapsing into his arm chair with a huff, "not cool Verge, not cool."
Throwing his customary mag over his face so he didn't have to look at the two devil's he tried to get a much needed nap after that whole fiasco.
He actually growled as the phone rang next to him.
It'd only been about a minute or two since he'd closed his eyes, couldn't he get a damn break today or was the whole world conspiring against him.
Banging his fist on the table he caught the phone receiver as it lifted off from it's cradle into the air he gave a yawn as he rested his head on the table and drawled, "Devil May Cry…."
Before he could ask about the password he was interrupted by a familiar voice saying, "It's me Dante."
The red hunter frowned, "Patty? What's up? Didn't you and the Shrimp just leave?"
It'd only been maybe twenty minutes or so since she'd left, what could have happened in that time that would require a phone call.
He doubted it was demons not in the main streets during the middle of the day. Plus the blonde girl didn't sound panicked enough and there were no screams coming from the background.
"Yes but I have something important to inform you and the others that couldn't wait."
Knocking a few papers off the table as he straightened up in his chair he felt his mind race.
"What is it Patty?" he asked seriously going through different scenarios from her announcing she was going to form a demon hunting team with Bean Sprout to they had bought out a whole store and needed a lift to bring it all back.
God he hoped it was the first one he didn't think he'd be able to financially deal with the latter.
"Did you know that despite cleaning and fixing up the rest of the shop Shiro is still sleeping in a room filled to the brim of junk and dust?"
The red devil swore his mind had to reboot as the sudden downfall of all his imaginings crashed and burned around him.
"Wait, she's what?" He asked once he managed to shake his head and refocus on the conversation.
"Her room is still the same as when she moved in Dante. I don't even think she has a bed in there and she seems perfectly fine with it. She needs a proper bedroom Dante."
Ok he could sort of see why that was an issue, geez how much of a bleeding heart was Small Fry that she would place their supposed needs about her own well being.
He admitted he wasn't exactly the cleanest and didn't mind a little mess but even he would draw the line at sleeping in a cramped, box filled room.
He need space dammit, did you know how awkward it was to fit into tight confines with his height.
No sir, the bigger the better.
"Well, yeah I get that. I'll have a chat when she gets back about taking care of herself first. The bathroom and everything else can wait until she fixes up her room," he replied.
Almost instantly after he had finished he heard the teenage girl darkly answer, "No."
Blinking confused he looked at the receiver like it was broken before placing it back to his ear and asking, "Huh, what do you mean no?"
The red devil swore he could hear the sound of something creaking under strong pressure before the blonde continued, "I mean no, you are not going to talk to her about fixing up her room. You and the others are going to sort it out and fix it up for her."
Dante almost fell out fo his chair from that.
"Wait! You expect us to do what?"
He had to jerk the phone away from his ear at Patty's next outburst that was so loud the other two occupants of the room winced at the sudden ear splitting shriek. "YOU WILL DO THIS DANTE. Shiro's has cleaned, repaired, purchased and furnished nearly all of your shop all by herself as well as fed and cooked for you out of the goodness of her heart with no complaint and with no desire for any kind of reward. She deserves more then to just be scolded for not doing her room first. You get off your lazy junk powered ass and do something nice for her in exchange for everything she's done for you. And YOU WILL be doing it or I will make it so every single item of clothing you have is bright pink instead of red. And that is just for starters," the girl stated coldly.
The red hunter couldn't suppress a shudder at that.
He could tell she wasn't kidding and even he despite his rugged good looks and charm could not pull of a hot pink outfit, not to mention he'd rather claw his eyes out than to look at such a monstrosity.
"A-al-alright then," he stumbled trying to get that terrible image out of his head, "I'll get started on it along with Verge and the Kid."
The two narrowed their eyes at him, wondering just what in the blazing hell Dante had just volunteered them for now.
"Good. You should have it done and ready for when we get back and it better be the best room ever," the blonde girl said.
Loosing his grip on the phone he fumbled with it before catching it again, "Wait! Wha…," he began to ask, panic clear in his voice, but before he could finish the blonde had already hung up on him.
Staring at the disconnected receiver for a minute he quickly dialled another number, Trish could help him, he knew it.
He twitched as the phone rang and rang before hearing the voice mail prompt.
Scowling he tried dialling Lady's number only to have the same thing happen. Dammit why were those two harpies never available when he needed them.
Placing the receiver back in it's cradle he finally let his head fall to the desk in defeat with a loud thunk.
He really wanted to cry.
He had only cried a handful of times in his life and usually only from really traumatic experiences but right now he really want to just curl up and cry.
The two other devils in the room shared a look before approaching the forlorn hunter.
Crossing his arms Vergil was the first to speak, displeasure clear in his tone, "just what trouble did you just get yourself into Dante that you expect us to now bail you out of?"
Without even raising his head to look at his brother the red hunter just mournfully replied, "that was Patty, she just called to inform me that apparently Pint Size despite cleaning the rest of the shop didn't feel having a proper bedroom for herself was high on the list of priorities compared to our comfort. So she's politely told/threatened me that we need to fix up the room ourselves."
The two blinked at him as they processed this new information before settling into two very different stances.
"Well, it's only fair. Sure thing. I just can't believe I didn't realise til now," the ex-order mumbled a bit guiltily feeling like he'd failed as he hadn't thought to check to see if his little sister had a comfortable room to live and sleep in.
He hadn't even bothered to ask how she was settling into the place. She was in a new and completely unknown environment with people who while been family were still practically strangers to her.
God damn he was a horrible brother.
On the other hand while Nero was sinking further into a guilt induced pit, the blue hunter was glaring at his twin arms crossed, "And why should I have to assist in this endeavour?"
Finally raising his head the red devil gave Vergil a disappointed look.
"Come on Verge, can't you do something nice for just once?"
When the blue twin didn't respond to that Dante decided to try a different tactic, "I thought you didn't like been in debt to people Verge and after everything she's done for us it would only be right to repay her for it."
"I didn't ask for any of that Dante so it is not something that requires any sort of payment from me," the blue hunter coldly snarked.
The red devil glared at his twin before growling, "fine, then I'll politely inform her that you no longer acquire her to do any of the jobs she has been doing."
The blue twin paused at this.
While it grated at him to cave to Dante he just couldn't go back to how things were before. The girl had only been around for a tiny fraction of time and already had become a valuable asset.
If he had to go back to living the way they had before she had arrived and made herself useful he was liable to gut anyone who so much as looked at him.
Expelling a long, deep sigh he relented, "I suppose I can help just this once. You'd be completely lost by yourself as it is."
The red hunter grinned, "thanks Verge. Between all of us we should be able to manage this before Patty get's back no problem."
Nero's mouth dropped open, "WHAT!?"
While Vergil raised one very unimpressed eye, "I rescind my decision."
Dante quickly leapt around the desk and grabbed his twins elbow before he could storm off. "NO! Please Verge I can't do this by myself, I need you."
Hissing in annoyance the blue devil turned towards his brother, "you should have thought about that before you agreed to those terms Dante."
Said devil looked to the side sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head. "Well ah, I didn't exactly agree."
The blue hunter pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed again, "the second son of the demon Sparda cornered by a weak teenage human girl. This is beyond a joke."
"Hey!" His twin pouted, though he couldn't deny that he was basically owned by the woman in his life despite been a badass demon killing machine.
"There is no way we could ever get this done in time before the child's return," Vergil continued.
The ex-order member piped up then looking a bit nauseous, "we should have about 5 hrs or so if we're lucky before Patty shows back up with Shiro. It might be a bit tight but we should be able to have the room done in that time between the three of us."
When the blue hunter opened his mouth to question this he was stopped by the red devil who gave a small shake of his head.
It had happened in the time before Vergil had shown up but the kid had once volunteered to help the girls carry their shopping while they browsed and by the time he had returned back to the shop after what had been nearly a whole day he had looked dead to the world.
Not even after the most annoying, tough and brutal jobs had the kid looked so exhausted and dead eyed.
He'd promptly face planted on the couch and passed out after muttering about 'monsters' and 'sales'.
The experience had seemed pretty traumatic for him and even Dante who like teasing the kid as much as eating a strawberry sundae had left the matter alone and unquestioned.
He knew just how bad the harpies could be individually about money, let alone together and in close quarters for a few hours.
No sir, he valued his sanity thank you very much.
"Okay, let's do this thing," the red hunter cheerfully said trying to lighten up the mood of the room.
Nero rolled his eyes at the red devil's antics, "so how we going to go about this old man?"
"Uh…..I don't know," the red twin replied confused.
Two different sets of eyes regarded him with disbelief and then resigned annoyance before turning to each other.
"Right I forgot how much of an idiot you are brother," the blue devil huffed.
The white haired teen after resisting the urge to punch Dante said, "we need to empty out the room, clean it and then restock it with furniture we'll need to get. It'd probably be best to split up the tasks so we can get this done on time."
"Divide and conquer. Very well that seems like a plausible plan," Vergil admitted.
"Oh, I'll clean," the red hunter offered.
The other two devils gave him another look before saying, "no!"
Frowning at them the red twin crossed his arms and pouted, "fine then I'll get the stuff for the room. Shouldn't be to hard, just need a bed, pillow and junk right?" The blue hunter felt his eye twitch while the youngest devil couldn't help but face palm at that stupid question.
Looking wearily at the blue twin the ex-order member asked, "I'll deal with the room while you get the furniture?"
Sighing for what felt like the hundredth time Vergil nodded, "fine."
The red twin looked at them both before shrugging, "well looks like you both got it figure out, guess there's nothing left for me to do then."
"You're coming with me Dante," his twin coldly informed him.
The red devil grinned, "huh, you need my help bro?"
The blue devil just began walking away, "you don't expect me to pay for this do you? Now get your wallet and hurry up."
Grumbling after his breath about 'cheapskate's' the red hunter quickly ran to catch up with his twin letting the heavy double doors slam shut behind him leaving the white haired teen by himself in the shop.
Nero rubbed his face with his left hand before climbing the stairs to the second level of Devil May Cry.
Might as well see what he was dealing with first so he knew how to start.
He opened the second door on the right to the room that was next to his and froze as he took in the chaos in front of him.
The room was filled to the brim with boxes and crates that seemed to hold a mixture of books, paper, artefacts and miscellaneous junk.
They were stacked upon each other, some more precariously then others with only a winding narrow bit of unobstructed floor showing, acting as a pathway into the room.
If he looked close enough he could see a ragged old blanket folded up in the corner at the end of the haphazard walkway which was also clear of junk in a small patch.
The whole room was covered in dust and cobwebs and if he hadn't found the light switch on the wall that was thankfully not blocked by containers he wouldn't have even been able to see anything, since the window was either blocked by boxes, so dirty it wasn't able to let in daylight or most likely both.
He couldn't believe Shiro had been sleeping in here and if it wasn't for the folded blanket and patch of cleared away dust in the corner, he wouldn't have.
"Alright, first thing first. I need to get all this crap out of here," the teen said to himself.
Taking a breath and regretting it as he instantly sneezed because of all the surrounding dust bumping into a unstable tower and as the mass of boxes and books fell towards him like an avalanche.
With no room to dodge out of the way the young devil ended up buried under a pile of junk.
"I'm going to fucking kill that old man the next time I see him," Nero grunted as he shifted items around him until he managed to resurface and crawl back out into the hallway.
Resolving to work from the door way into the room he grabbed the closest most stable box to him and he it up with a huff, nose wrinkling from the dust.
Walking down the hallway and stairs he went through the door at the back of the main office through the kitchen and with a bit of awkward juggling managed to open the door with he steps down to the basement, flicking the light switch on his way down cause while his devil bringer did glow enough to see by he'd rather not risk falling down the stairs due to inadequate lighting.
Pausing on the bottom step he had a quick look around as the teen saw that Shiro must have tided up a bit in here too as there seemed to be a new washer and drier tucked into the corner with some shelves full of washing powder and cleaning supplies beside it.
Apart from that the room was basically empty but that suited Nero just fine as he set his box down in a corner against the wall.
The ex-order member peeked inside the box for a moment before closed the flaps with a sigh and heading back up the stairs.
He'd leave it to the old man to sort out the junk in the boxes later. He wasn't as well versed as the brothers on demonic lore and artefacts and while he doubted half of the times in the boxes were valuable or dangerous he couldn't chuck any of it out on the off chance it could be.
Nero soon lost count of the number of trips up and down the stairs he made.
He'd taken to taking shallow breaths when in the upstairs room to avoid sneezing and had long since stopped brushing his clothes off resigned to been covered in dust.
Finally he set the last three small boxes with the old blanket on top in the basement which was now over three quarters full of crates, books and other items.
The young devil rubbed at a knot in his back and winced as the movement pulled at a healing bruise from the second box avalanche he'd accidentally set off, though thankfully wasn't buried by.
Walking over to the shelves of cleaning supplies he quickly grabbed, a broom, mop and bucket, floor pan and brush, duster and a few cloths before frowning at the wide range of chemical bottles he saw.
Some he recognised such as washing powder and dishwashing liquid, but the rest was a different story.
Carting up the cleaning items he already had he quickly started sorting through the chemicals glad that most of the names were pretty self explaining and for the ones that weren't at least had basic cleaning instructions on the back.
If he was just doing his own room he'd had made do with hot water and soap, but this was for Shiro and he was going to fucking do this right.
Picking up wooden floor cleaner, window cleaner, sugar soap, floor polish, air freshener and bug spray after a moments thought.
Double checking once more to make sure he had everything he needed or at the least thought he needed he headed back up and placed his selection beside the other cleaning supplies.
The ex-order member looked at the now empty yet still filthy room which now seemed so much bigger despite been the same size as his own.
Trying to work out what to start with he rubbed his irritated nose as he resisted the urge to sneeze again.
"Well guess that's a start," he muttered nasally, his nose still kind of blocked from all the dust.
Grabbing the duster he quickly set to work on removing the dust, quickly ducking back out to grab the bug spray as his actions disturbed a few spiders in their cobwebs.
Holding the can of spray in front of him he grinned at one of the arachnids, "time to die fucker," he snarked before pushing the button on the can and thereby spraying himself in the eyes with it, due to the fact he had it pointing the wrong way.
Screeching in pain he dropped the can and fell to the floor rolling around in pain and he clutched his burning, tear filled eyes, "god fucking damn mother fucking shit on a stick that fucking stings worse then fricken hell forsaken demon piss."
After a few more colourful sentences that would have shocked even Dante at there vulgarity the teen managed to uncurl from his pain induced ball and blink his eyes clear of tears.
Though still red his demon healing was already working so he didn't have to worry about going potentially blind due to his blunder.
Feeling suddenly jealous of Vergil who he thought might have now had the easier job despite been stuck with the old man, he picked up the offending can and seeing the little arrow on top of the button he had previously missed finished killing the rest of the spiders before chucking it down the hall as far away from him as possible.
With that done the half devil managed to get the dusting over and down with, without further incident. Now he just had to open the window and vent the room to remove the rest of the airborne dust.
Looking at the window he saw despite the blinds which were missing slates and have only held up on one corner been open, the window itself was basically black in grime.
Sighing he exchanged the duster for some cloths and the window cleaner, setting it next to the window as he reached up and pulled the blind out of the wall, grimacing as a chunk of plaster came out with it.
Placing it to the side he sprayed some of the window cleaner onto a cloth and onto the window making sure it was facing well away from his eyes.
Scrubbing the window scowling as the hunter had to quickly grab another cloth when his first became covered in grime.
He'd been covered in demon blood and guts more times then he cared to remember and yet somehow the feeling of this dark grime on his skin felt so much worse. Maybe it was because the former was a side effect of his chosen occupation or maybe it was because he'd never realised how bad the shop was until after it had been cleaned spotless, but it made his stomach turn and skin itch.
When the window was finally clear again he grabbed all of used cloths and broken blind dumping them out in the hall to throw away after.
Placing the window cleaner back it's the rest of the chemicals he had landed up the ex-order member re-entered the room and grabbing the bottom of the window went to open it.
It didn't even budge even when he strained his arms.
Though he couldn't use all his strength least he rip the window out of the wall.
Checking the window he saw a latch on top and face palmed as he realised that was the reason it wouldn't open.
Trying to turn the latch proved to be just as hard as his previous attempt to open the window as the mechanise was so tight it wouldn't turn.
Growling the young devil ran down to the basement and soon returned with a small can of oil which he drizzled onto the latch twisting and turning the mechanism until it finally unlocked.
Raising his hands in the air in triumph and cursing as he dribbled oil on his clothes he grabbed a fresh cloth to clean up some of the excess oil and then opened the window.
It was still a bit stiff from disuse but he'd managed and smiled as he finally got some fresh air into the stuffy room.
That done he then went back out to his small pile of cleaning supplies and started sweeping the floor with the occasional sniffle as he stirred up some of the dust that still remained on the floor.
Then he moved onto the walls amazed at how easily the sugar soap managed to get most of the stains off, despite some taking a fair bit of elbow grease.
Though this resulted in him realising that apart from the hole he had made when taking the blind out, it wasn't the only one.
So back down to the basement he went returning with a tub of wall putty and somehow he managed to patch up the holes in the walls despite the colour not matching the same white as the walls.
Lastly he mopped the floor and after tipping out the dark coloured water stood in the hallway taking in the now clean room as he held the can of air fresher in front of him and sprayed it into the room, killing any left over smell of dust and chemical until the can was empty.
Popping his head into the room he took a breath and gagged at the intense smell of vanilla and orchids.
Backing out of the room waving his arms in the air as if that would get rid of the smell he grabbed the pile of stuff to chuck out and went down the stairs kicking the double doors open.
Soon Nero had put the last piece of cleaning equipment away and collapsed onto the couch with a tired groan.
"How'd Shiro do all of that for the rest of the shop? That was a total nightmare," the ex-order member grumbled, to worn out to even make an attempt at having a shower and changing.
He wasn't sure how long he had been going but Vergil and Dante hadn't come back yet so until they did he was going to relax here and not move a tired aching muscle.
"Reckon you had an easier job of it then me damn twins," he muttered letting his still slightly red eyes drift shut wondering how the two sons of Sparda went on their part of the plan.
And thats the chapter, now as you can probably tell this chapter is split in half. the reason for that is I'd already gotten to around 3100+ words before the boys even spit up. So unless I kept holding off to write one supermassive chapter it was just easier to split it up like this. Next chapter is going to be from Dante and Vergil's view and in all honestly I reckon it's going to be my favourite chapter of the whole fic so far. Though it'll probably be pretty long too, I seem to progressively getting longer and longer chapters.
I'm not 100% happy with the start of this chap but skipping straight to Dante's and Nero's fight to the phone call seemed like such a cop out. I wanted them to have a proper discussion so you could kind of see why this was such a big deal for them both as well as a proper resolution to the whole thing. Which I think I might have sorta managed. I dunno, it just kept dragging on for so long that my mind started to melt on me. the phone call was pretty fun to write from Dante's side, I had the pervious chap side by side as i wrote this one so i could make sure I didn't stuff it up but it was really fun writing the other side of a phone call since most of the time you only ever get one persons side.
Now for Nero's cleaning I had a lot of fun and while I already had the box avalanche and spray in eye gags planned from the get go the other mishaps with cleaning were just spur of the moment. I didn't want to bore you with just descriptions of him cleaning so it probably ended up a bit more comedic then first planned. I also have to explain that I know that Nero didn't clean quite correctly but as explained while better then Dante he is stereotypical bachelor and only knows the basics of cleaning. I can safely say he has alot more respect for Shiro now after knowing how hard this cleaning business is hehe.
