A/N As promised, Chapter 2. This was meant to be the last but I am thinking of continuing it. Review whether or not you would like the story to continue.
Clarke snaps her eyes shut immediately, the bright light of the sun overloading her retinas. By the time she is able to fully open her eyes, Pike is basically done his speech.
"... Do you have anything to say for yourself Clarke Griffin?" He is met with silences before she forces her voice to raise and address the people of Arcadia.
"This man is a fraud. He does everything in the name of wanting peace, but every action he has taken so far has been against it. He killed an army sent to protect us. He did that so he can 'protect' you. By his logic that means we kill him. He is trying to kill every single person outside of this camp because some people from Azgeda attacked them. He does not even want to acknowledge the fact that only a few attacked. He wants to punish the many for the crimes of a few. The Commander is a good leader, this man is not. The Commander wants peace the right way. She did not lay waste to this camp because she understands that the many don't need to pay for the crimes of a few. Kill me and all that accomplishes is proving to everyone here that you are weak. You have to kill an 18 year old because she was in the enemies' capitol. That has no moral justification. Not even a madman like you can find one. But go ahead. Kill me."
"She has spouted lies while facing death to try to turn you. But we will not be that easily swayed by a traitor!" Pike yelled, although even he knew he lost the crowd. But he knew how to get them back. Kill Clarke. Show them no one can survive an uprising. Or so he thought.
He pulled the trigger, but nothing but sound emitted from the gun. And then he felt it. One gun on either side of his head while another was pressed against his back. The remainder of the delinquents, sans Miller and Raven, then swarmed the stage, all forming a protective circle around Clarke.
Suddenly, the sound of gunshots could be heard, but not a single bullet hit anyone. Every gun off the stage was apparently firing blanks.
"Everyone calm down. Anyone who rushes the stage will be shot so I suggest you stay away," sounded Raven's voice over the speakers.
"Yeah right! All the guns are firing blanks!"
Bellamy simply responded by putting one through Pike's leg. Pike's scream sounded and was the perfect way to silence the crowd.
"Miller!" Octavia yelled above the crowd. "Open the gates."
Not two minutes after the gates opened did blue eyes meet green, and for a moment all chaos was forgotten. But only for a moment.
Feeling Lexa's eyes roam over her body, Clarke saw the utter rage take over. She didn't even look that mad when Nia threatened her and tried to cause Lexa to be dethroned but now Clarke was sure she was going to kill someone with that gaze.
Clarke's body screamed in defiance but she was adamant on going to Lexa. Halfway there, Laxa got off her horse and Clarke broke into a full on sprint. She ran straight into Lexa's arms and jumped, trusting Lexa to catch her. She did and Clarke leant in to finally capture a kiss. It was not agressive and demanding like their kisses on their last night together, but comforting and reassuring. After the need to breathe interrupted them, Clarke looked into the eyes she thought about for a month. They looked tired, and she hated that Lexa spent her nights restless because of Clarke.
"Commander."
"Marcus kom Skaikru," she replied dropping Clarke but still keeping her as close as humanly possible.
Clarke then realised that Kane seemed to be the only one coherently thinking as every person was in shock.
Suddenly, a man kicked Bellamy and took the gun. He immediately fired at the couple, but again was met with blanks. He stumbled in confusion before Murphy (Clarke realized she was so focused on Lexa that she didn't see him enter) punched him hard enough for the man to instantly be knocked out.
"Chancellor Pike kom Skaikru. You waged war against the coalition despite being part of it. You killed 300 Trikru. You harmed Clarke. You will pay in blood." Lexa immediately drove her sword through his heart, killing him instantly.
The celebrations after the difficult day are amazing. The Arcadians are all partying, oldest to youngest, and no one can tell that earlier they were on the brink of a war.
However, Clarke curled up in Lexa's side the entire night at the dinner table. It is about half way through the party when the whole group is at the table; Raven, Bellamy, Murphy, Monty, Harper, Octavia on Lincoln's lap, and even Jasper.
It's halfway through dinner when Bellamy brings up that morning. "Brilliant job with the blanks Raven."
"Uh thanks Bell but it wasn't me. I thought it was you."
"Not me. Who was it then?"
"I believe that would be me," Clarke called, from her spot in Lexa's side. They've been like this for the past 2 hours and at this point all the shock of the two of them was about gone.
"How? You didn't get near them until Pike was going to shoot you."
"Commander of Death," answered Lexa.
And for the second time that day everyone was rendered speechless by shock.
"Well goodnight everyone," Lexa said. "We really should be getting to bed."
Octavia wiggled her eyebrows at the pair.
"No O. To sleep. We haven't had a good night's sleep in a month." Clarke rolled her eyes at her friend's antics
"We?" asked Monty.
"It's hard to sleep when the woman you love is possibly being tortured. Plus I may or may not have missed her holding me. And I'll kill the person who brings that up after tonight."
But as she was walking away, she heard Murphy laugh, "Well we know who's big spoon and who's little spoon."
She had no idea what spoons had to do with anything, but before she could figure it out, she heard a small voice from next to her.
"The woman you love huh." A look of fear crossed over Lexa's face. "I love you too."
And they went to sleep in each other's arms and neither woke for over a day.
A/N I hope you all enjoyed the chapter. As I said in the beginning, review whether or not you would like the story to continue. Also, if you enjoyed this story, check out the other stories I wrote. Stay safe.
