Spottedfur pushed, and the fifth and last kit slipped into the nest beside her. She panted, and smiled. Her kits had finally been born! She cleaned the gunk off of her kits. Her head spun, but she was happy. She was already thinking of names; Lightkit, Cherrykit, Hailkit, Driftkit, and Adderkit. Lightkit was pure white, Cherrykit was ginger, Hailkit was light grey, Driftkit was also light grey, with darker spots, and Adderkit was light brown and dark brown. At first, they seemed kind of confused. They sniffed around, and started crawling towards the medicine cat. When they tried to nurse, she yelped in surprise and jumped up. The kits cried, and Spottedfur pulled them to her stomach. They suckled happily, and the medicine cat sat back down. "I'm so sorry, they just-" Spottedfur stopped her with a flick of her tail "it's ok. Now, will you help me to the nursery?"
The medicine cat helped her up, and guided her towards the nursery. Spottedfur carried three kits, the medicine cat carried two. They walked over to the sheltered nursery. Moonstar watched them, and realized how thin Spottedf was. you could see her ribs showing through her pelt. Her eyes were worried, and she was glancing from side to side, taking every one of the questionings, some disgusted looks personally. One of the warrior toms snarled at her, and she whimpered and trotted the rest of the way to the nursery. There were four other cats in the nursery, each with a few kits either playing on them or suckling at their belly. One of them looked up at her and smiled. "Ah! You must be Spottedfur!"
Spottedfur nodded. "I'm Wolfpebble!" Spottedfur nodded in greeting. She moved over to an empty nest, and she and the medicine cat put down the kits, and she sat down in the nest. She put her head down, and fell right asleep.
