Class 1-A was once again running together towards the nearest metro area. Once again, Bakugo ran in a different direction with Kirishima and Kaminari following him. It didn't take a long time before 1-A came across one of the victims. "Help me! My grandpa is in the rubble, he's getting crushed!" A little boy cried out while breathing irregularly. "This looks bad. Where is your grandpa?" Izuku asked. "What was that!? Minus points!" The little kid suddenly exclaimed. "First you should check if the victim can walk! And didn't you notice my irregular breathing and all the blood coming from my head!?" He screamed. "But that's not the worst part. The first thig we hear shouldn't be "That looks bad" You need to make people feel safe" The boy explained.
Izuku pondered over the information for a while before flashing a big All Might like smile. "I am here now. Everything will be alright!" He said enthusiastically. The kid from H.U.C immediately went back into his act and started screaming again. "It's okay. We will save your grandpa" Izuku told the kid before turning around to the rest of the class. "I'll take this kid to the evacuation centre. The rest of you, keep going!" He said and flew off towards the evacuation centre.
Once Izuku arrived at the evacuation centre, he was approached by another participant. "Here, He is breathing irregularly and there's a lot of blood coming from his head" Izuku explained. "Understood, I'll take him" the other participant replied and took the kid from H.U.C.
Izuku was about to head back into the metro area when an explosion went off, not far away from the evacuation centre. Out of the smoke came the, currently, number 9 hero, Gang Orca along with many sidekicks. Izuku went in to attack the faux villains but stopped when Shindo came in first. "Stay back, I'll handle this" He said and sent out a shockwave that broke up the ground under the faux villains.
Izuku saw that Shindo had it under control, for now, and focused on moving the victims away instead. Unfortunately, Shindo didn't have control for long. Gang orca grabbed him and made him unconscious with a hypersonic wave. His attention was redirected when both Todoroki and Inasa attacked him. Izuku noticed that their attacks conflicted with each other, but decided to deal with all the sidekicks first.
Izuku went into the faux villains and started knocking them out left and right. He noticed that they all had some device on their arms that appeared to fire a cement like substance. His suspicions were quickly confirmed when one of his rods got hit and covered in the substance, forcing him to drop it. "We got one of..." One of the sidekicks tried saying, but was silenced when Izuku uppercutted him. He then pulled out one of his spare rods and went back to fight the sidekicks.
Eventually Shindo regained his consciousness and took care of the few sidekicks that remained. "Why did you have to take out so many?" He complained. "You were unconscious" Izuku replied. "It was a part of my plan, but you had to ruin it!" Shindo shouted. "You useless quirkless nothing" He mumbled.
Izuku heard that and in a few seconds closed the gap between them. "Now listen here you dense idiot. You're lucky this is a rescue exercise so that I can't hurt you. But you better apologize right now or else" Izuku said with anger. He held one of his rods against Shindo's throat and looked him straight in the eye. "I will find you afterwards, when you are completely alone, without anyone to help you. I will then make sure you regret every action you have taken that has led you to this point. Understand?" Izuku threatened. Shindo could feel the aura of intimidation Izuku had and quickly complied. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. Please don't hurt me!" He begged. "Good" Izuku simply said and left Shindo alone. 'He is scary' Shindo thought.
While Izuku had fought the sidekicks, he had paid attention to Todoroki's and Inasa's fight with Gang Orca. And it wasn't going particularly well. Their attacks kept cancelling each other out. Todoroki would use his fire and Inasa would end up blowing it away with his wind. Gang Orca exploited this and paralyzed both of them with a hypersonic wave. This time they finally decided to work together. Inasa made a tornado of wind around Gang Orca and Todoroki amplified the power with his fire, as well as weakening the hero. Unfortunately for both of them, Gang Orca had several water bottles ready for situations like this. He opened one and started pouring water over his head. He then blew all the fire away with a hypersonic wave.
"What will you do know?" Gang Orca said ominously while walking over to Todoroki. He was about to grab him when Izuku came. Gang Orca blocked the incoming attack with his forearm. Izuku dodged him and smacked him in the face with his staff. Gang Orca then tried paralyzing Izuku with a hypersonic wave, but it had no effect. "You think I never prepared for villains with sonic quirks?" Izuku taunted and charged at Gang Orca again. Right before Izuku reached Gang Orca, an alarm was sounded, signalling the end of the exam. This led to Izuku loosing balance and crashed into Gang Orca. "Sorry" Izuku said as he got back up. "Don't worry about it. You fought well" Gang Orca replied and walked away.
After a short break, all the 100 participants had gathered in front of a podium in the middle of the stadium. "You have been working for a long time now and now it's time for you to see the results. Before that though, you should know how you were scored. We deducted points as we saw your performance. We were essentially judging you on your abilities to act in a crisis" The same sleep deprived man from before, explained. "Anyways, here are the results. All of those who passed the test will have their name displayed" He announced and motioned towards the big screen behind him as it turned on.
People started celebrating as they saw their names on the screen, including Izuku and all members of class 1-A except two, Todoroki and Bakugo. Todoroki was really calm about it, while Bakugo seemed like he could explode at any moment. "We will distribute sheets with further information, along with provisional license to those who passed" Mr. sleepy announced as people started handing out the papers.
When Bakugo got his sheet, he got even angrier. 'I was just one point away' He thought as he saw the results. "Switch with me Pikachu" He growled at Kaminari. "I don't think it works that way Bakugo" Kaminari responded and slowly backed away.
Bakugo seemed like he was about to kill someone for real when another announcement was made. "For those of you that didn't pass, don't worry. You will receive special courses at a later day. When you complete these courses, you will receive your provisional licenses and become more qualified than those who already have their licenses" The overworked man announced. Much to the joy of those who didn't pass "That's all. You can go home now" He said before falling asleep right then and there.
All the participants were now walking out of the stadium. Izuku was staring at his newly acquired provisional license in amazement. "I need to show this to mom and dad right now!" He exclaimed. "You're excited" Ochako commented. "W-well, it has been my dream since I was little and nice to be one step closer. I also want mom and dad to know their support was worth it" Izuku explained. "That's so sweet" She said and gave him a quick kiss. "Let's get back to the buss. I don't think Aizawa would like us spending more time than necessary" Ochako said and quickly made her way to the buss with Izuku following not far behind. When they walked into the buss, Izuku was certain he could see Aizawa giving them a small smile.
That night, there was celebrations in the 1-A dorms. Two people left early. Bakugo said he needed sleep, but it was clear he was angry he hadn't received the license. Todoroki stayed for a bit longer, but went back to his room, saying he just needed to think for himself for a while.
Later when most from class 1-A had gone to their rooms, Izuku snuck out without anyone noticing. He walked over to one of the fake cities for Toshinori's training. "Let's work on hand to hand combat today" Izuku said once Toshinori arrived and grabbed his staff. Toshinori then grabbed his staff, with less grace than Izuku and they began their training session.
Not long after they began Toshinori had to stop. He fell on his knees and started coughing unnormal amounts of blood. "Is everything okay? This is worse than usual" Izuku asked. "Yes, I just need a break" Toshinori managed to say between his choughs. Izuku looked at the retired hero, when he realised something. "You have been overexerting yourself" He stated once Toshinori stopped coughing up blood, but he didn't reply.
"Have you followed my schedule?" Izuku asked. "W-well, I may have trained outside of the schedule" Toshinori replied nervously. "That will have the opposite effect. I thought someone like you would know how dangerous overwork can be. And with that injury of yours, it's too easy to have detrimental effects" Izuku complained and let out a sigh of disappointment. "Is there any reason for this?" he asked. "Yes" Toshinori replied with a sombre expression. "I visited All for one in Tartarus today. He talked about many things, but the one thing that bothers me the most is the fact that I don't have a successor yet. He has one in Shigaraki, while I'm here with just small embers left of one for all without an heir. I need to get stronger so that I can raise a successor" Toshinori explained. "I see. But you can't overexert yourself like this. Meanwhile, I will help you become a hero again in time for my graduation like planned" Izuku commented
"By the way, have you found any candidates for one for all yet?" Izuku asked. "Well, there is this one person, my former sidekick, Sir Nighteye, has put forward. He is a third year named Mirio Togata. I have talked with him a few times and he seems like a good choice, but I'm not completely sure. It just seems a bit forced" Toshinori replied. "That's why I want you to intern at the same agency he interns at" He said. "Intern? what do you mean?" Izuku asked. "Now that you have your provisional licenses, you will start internships under different agencies. I want you to intern in Sir Nighteye's hero agency, so that you can know Mirio better so that you can determine if he is a worthy successor or not" Toshinori explained. "Okay, I'll do that" Izuku said. "Now, let's continue your training" He said and got back into a fighting stance.
