Chapter 2 fall of an angel
Icarus is flying high in the sky, following his father. Though they have stopped a couple of times to rest and eat, they have been flying for quite a while. He was happy to be free from the labyrinth, but wondered where they were going.
As Icarus was daydreaming and basking in the head of the sun, he didn't notice a sound coming up. Suddenly he was hit by a big block of air. Because of it he lost his balance. Though he tried to flap his wings to stay air-born, he was only able to keep it up for a little while.
The young man started to fall down into the forest below. He was able to float a little bit to soften his landing, but the extra force this put on his wings loosened them from his arms and in the end he fell to the floor. When he hit the ground he landed on his back and was unconscious.
As the young men fell a single feather came loose from his wing and was caught by one of the creatures of the forest.
The guide of the forest, a bleak looking man with a light-bulb on his head looked at the winged boy. He tried with magic to see whether the angel was alive, but didn't really get an answer. The skywatcher looked at the boy and said that he would make certain whether the being was alive or dead. The guide tried to stop him, as the inventor wasn't always the best with these kind of things. As an answer the inventor pushed the off-switch on the guides head, disorientating the man.
The skywatcher then looked at the angel, he called the being a bit, he gave him a push. As nothing happened he signalled the people to gather what they could from the unconscious man. The people quickly gathered around and looked at what they could take away. Both of the wings were pulled of the young man's arms.
The skywatcher was amazed by the wings and took them for himself for the moment. As the inventor felt a wave of bliss come over him as he flew over the clearing, the guide commanded the people. He told them to bind the former angel into a net and foist it up into the trees, so he couldn't escape when he woke up.
OOO
It was a couple of hours later that Icarus woke up. He felt a bit groggy as he woke up. He found himself stuck in a net and without his wings. When he looked around he learned he was stuck high in trees of a forest.
The young man started to twist and turn, even slowly make a roll-overs. He noticed that the twists made him able to move easier and lowered him a little bit to the ground.
After a little while he was able to stretch the net so he could stand up, though he needed to hold himself up with his arms. He was able to look at the knots in the net and loosen a couple so a whole appeared and the net lowered further to the ground.
Unbeknown to Icarus the guide of the forest and the queen were watching the man in his dance for freedom. The queen sang as she saw him trying to free himself. As this was going on, one of the people came towards her with a white feather. It looked to be from one of the wings of the former angel. She excepted it as she kept watch over the escape attempt.
Icarus in the mean time has managed to escape the net, but is still to high in the air to safely come down. He climbs to the top of the net and starts to twist it, so it will look more like a single rope than a net. The young man coils the met around himself and twists around. With every twist he makes he comes closer and closer to the ground. He is almost on the ground, but gets his wrist stuck in knot of the net.
Icarus pulls himself up and is able to finally release himself from his cage. But, as he loosens his grip on the rope, he falls to the ground, unable to stand. He is tired of his struggles and moves to a tree nearby. When he gets there he finds a feather from his wing lying on the ground and a lady in purple walking away. Shortly after he falls asleep again.
