The 2 girls were on the train.

Applejack smiled nervously as she saw hundreds of people waving and cheering.

the 2 girls got out of the train with their mentor, Rainbow Dash. In the 50th Friendship Games, Rainbow Dash competed in the Games, as a Cloudsdale tribute and survived- and won. Sunset and Applejack saw the other tributes, some looked like killers, others looked like they wouldn't last. Sunset and Applejack grasped each other's hands as the chariot headed towards Principal Cinch, the president.
In the training room, the tributes were practising sword fighting. One of the tributes was a natural. Applejack went over to practise Archery, which she was very good at, actually and always got a bullseye.
Sunset smiled at Applejack as they went into their rooms, waiting for the next day...
