Author's Note: Hi. I had the idea the other day that there was a bunch of chaos that happened in the dorms (then I remembers the times Tanba and Masuko shaved their heads, Asada's first interaction with his roommates, and Sawamura's first night at Seido.) So that made me wonder what other things happened at the dorms. Sorry if my writing isn't how it usually is, I haven't had time to write in a few months with school and this is my first Ace of Diamond fic. I'm currently on spring break so I should have time to write more often.

Seto's POV:

8 am

My hair's starting to fade. Guess it's time to dye it again. Hopefully Koushuu can help out again. We should be able to bleach it later this morning, we can dye it sometime after dinner. I finish brushing my teeth and go back to my dorm. Koushuu's probably willing to help, but I still decide to text him to check.

Koushuu:

Hey Kou

Gonna dye my hair again today. Wanna help?

I put my phone down and pull out a textbook. Might as well study while I'm waiting to hear back from him.

11 am

Still no word for Koushuu. I decide to go visit him and see if he wants to help. I grab my bottle of bleach and put on shoes. "I'll be back in a bit, Kanemaru-senpai." I inform my roommate before leaving.

"Have fun." Kanemaru says.

I make my way to Koushuu's dorm and knock when I get there.

Miyuki answers the door and steps outside. "Good morning, Seto. What brings you here?" Miyuki asks.

"Good morning, captain." I greet Miyuki. "I was looking for Koushuu. I'm dyeing my hair today and I wanted to see if he wanted to help."

"He's in our dorm, but he's asleep right now." Miyuki explains. "He wasn't feeling well last night, so I think he's just trying to sleep it off."

"That's a shame. Anything I can get to help him?" I ask.

"We have stuff here. Thank you for offering though."

"If he's feeling better, can you ask him if he'd like to help? And tell him I hope he gets well soon?"

"Sure thing, Seto."

"Thank you, Miyuki-senpai." I tell him. I make my way back to my dorm and put away the bleach.

Kanemaru glances up from his book when he hears the door open. "That was quick." He says. "Have fun?"

"I didn't do anything. I was looking for Koushuu but he's currently sick." I say.

"Did you two have plans?" Kanemaru asks.

"I was gonna dye my hair and I wanted to see if he'd be able to help out. Miyuki said Koushuu's trying to sleep it off, so he probably won't be able to today."

"I can help if you'd like." He offers.

"Really?" I ask him. I didn't think Kanemaru would be the kind of person who would have any interest in dyeing hair. "That'd be great."

"Yep. Do you have any idea what you're going to do?" He asks.

"Same as usual. I'm just hoping to add a streak or two to my hair again. The streak I currently have has been starting to fade." I take off my hat to show him the part of my hair.

"Okay." Kanemaru pauses. "When were you thinking of doing this?"

"I was thinking of bleaching it before lunch then going in with the red later tonight. That way the bleach will have set in and the color will be brighter."

Kanemaru looks at his phone to check the time. "Lunch starts in like an hour or so. Do you think we have time to do it before?"

I nod. "Yeah. If we start soon, it should be enough time and I'll be able to rinse it out. If that's okay with you."

Kanemaru closes his textbook and puts away his school supplies. "I'm okay with that. We should probably do it in the bathroom."

"Okay. Let me just grab the stuff." I grab the stuff to bleach my hair and something to sit on.

We make our way to the bathroom and I set my chair on the floor and put the hair products on the counter.

"Do you know how to do this?" I ask Kanemaru.

"I know how to dye but haven't really bleached before." He tells me.

"So first you take these and mix them up." I pour the hair bleach and developer in my bowl and mix them. Then you put the bleach on the hair." I explain.

"Really? That simple?" He asks.

"Yep."

"I'm guessing we need to do it now instead of closer to lunch because the bleach needs to set in?

"Yep."

"Okay." He says and grabs the bowl.

"Wait a minute. Don't forget gloves." I tell him.

"Thanks, Seto." He says before putting on the gloves. He picks up the bowl of bleach and stands in front of me. "So just the part you already had dyed?"

"Yeah." He starts putting the bleach on my hair. After a minute or two, he steps back so I can look in the mirror.

"How's this?" He asks.

"It's good." I tell him. "Can you pass me that tinfoil?"

"Sure." He hands it over. I rip off some from the roll and wrap the bleached hair in it. He picks up the bottle of bleach and reads it. "So, it looks like you need to wait 15 minutes. I got a timer set."

After a few minutes, Kanemaru decided to break the silence. "How are you liking things at Seido so far?"

"It's good. Intense though. Knowing that Koushuu's here though, helps."

"I get that. Living in the dorms was a huge change at first, especially with how intense practices are. I was lucky that Toujou's here too. And my roommate from last year was an amazing guy."

"Really?"

"Yeah. He was so wise and I learned a lot from him." He smiles fondly. "He really cares about other people too. He made me feel welcome and helped me settle in when I first got here. Some of the guys in my year weren't as lucky." He pauses. "There was a fair number of roommates having arguments. Two people have different living habits and tension grows. I remember plenty of times I'd be in the bathroom brushing my teeth or I'd be in the line for lunch and I'd overhead people talking to their friends. They'd say stuff like this person keeps having friends over late at night when I'm try to sleep, or my roommate keeps playing music too loudly while I'm trying to study." He shakes his head. "They'd be petty and some people would bring their disagreements to the field and it'd effect their playing, making it the whole team's business."

"If I have any concerns, I won't let it affect my playing." I assure Kanemaru.

"Good." He smiles again. His phone goes off and he looks at it. "That's the timer. Let's take a look."

I go to the sink and grab a paper towel. After removing the foil, I wipe off some bleach and take a look. "It's not there yet."

"15 more minutes?" Kanemaru asks, setting another timer.

"Yeah. And we need to put a bit more bleach on the part I wiped off."

"Okay." He adds more bleach and covers it in foil.

After another 15 minutes, we check the hair again. "It's good." I tell him. "Now I just need to rinse it out and clean up the stuff we used. Do you think you can take the chair back to the dorm?" I ask him.

"Sure. Need anything else?"

Nah. I just need to clean the things we used. I'll drop them off in a few." I gesture to the stuff we used.

"Okay. See you then." He leaves with the chair.

-1 hour later-

"Is Okumura not joining us today?" Yui asks when I approach the lunch table by myself.

"I don't know." I take a seat next to Asada. "I went to visit him this morning and Miyuki-senpai said he was sick and he was resting."

"That's awful. Should we see if he needs anything? Maybe bring him some food?" Asada asks.

"Miyuki-senpai said he'd handle it." I tell them.

We eat lunch in silence for a few minutes before Asada speaks up again. "So, how's your day going?"

"It's been so boring. I've been studying all day." Kuki says.

"My day's also been uneventful. I did some studying, but I've also spent some time talking about pitcher and catcher stuff with Ono-senpai and Furuya-senpai." Yui says, smiling a bit. "It's been peaceful, but I can't wait to actually practice again."

"Same. I spent most of the morning studying but also I started dyeing my hair."

"Really? That's so cool! I've been thinking of dyeing my hair but things keep happening and it never feels like the right time." Kuki says.

"Well started dyeing my hair. Kanemaru-senpai helped me bleach my hair this morning." I take off my hat for a moment so the other first years can see the bleached part then cover it back up. "We're going to do the actual dyeing tonight. And I get what you mean. When I first wanted to dye my hair, it was almost school picture day and all kinds of stuff then I realized that if I kept thinking like that, I'd never actually do it. One day, I got the stuff from the store, searched how to dye my hair, and got Koushuu to help."

"When I dye my hair, can you help?" Kuki asks me.

"Yeah!"

-10 hours later-

"Kanemaru-senpai, are you still willing to help?" I ask from across the room.

"Yeah. What needs to be done for this part?" He asks.

"We just need to mix the dye with the developer, then put it on my hair."

"Okay."

I gather the supplies and we make our way to the bathroom. A few teammates are there brushing their teeth and getting ready for the night. I mix the dye with the developer in a bowl.

"This good?" Kanemaru asks after he put the dye on my hair.

"Yeah. I just need to cover it in foil again." I say before doing that.

"That's gonna look cool." Shirasu says after spitting out a mouthful of mouthwash.

"Thank you, Shirasu-senpai." I say.

I start a timer and clean out the bowl I used. "I can just wait here while it sets. I'll be back in the dorm like an hour and a half or so, Kanemaru-senpai."

"Okay, Seto. Have fun." He says before heading back to our dorm.

-87 minutes later-

After I finish rinsing out my hair, I take a moment to look at it in the mirror. "Nice." I say to myself. I check the time. A bit after midnight. I didn't realize it was so late. If I go back to my dorm now and I can fall asleep within the next 15 minutes, I should be able to get about 5 hours of sleep. I make my way back to the dorm and enter quietly, making sure not to wake my roommates up.

"Seto?" Kanemaru whispers after I close the door.

"Yeah. Sorry if I woke you up." I apologize.

"It's all good. I wasn't asleep yet. How'd your hair turn out?"

"It looks great! Thank you so much for helping, Kanemaru-senpai." I smile, but it's probably too dark for him to see it.

"I'm glad to hear. Make sure to get some rest."

"Sure thing. Goodnight."

"Goodnight." He says back. I climb in to bed and as soon as I get under the covers, I feel my eyelids growing heavier. Soon after, I drift off into a peaceful sleep.
