Geordi stood there in shock.
"What do you mean? We've worked together for six years." he said.
"I don't know what you're talking about and," Wesley started and looked around. "Where am I?"
Geordi took out the combadge.
"Engineering to Captain and Dr. Crusher."
"Captain here."
"Dr. Crusher here."
"Can you two come here because Wesley fell and bumped his head. And now he doesn't remember anything. Who I am, where he is or anything."
"We'll be right there. Captain out."
So he looked at Wesley while he sat there looking at everything.
A few minutes later Picard and Beverly were there while Geordi had Wesley sitting down.
"What happened?" Picard asked.
"We had just finished fixing something up and when it was done we walked backwards for a second and he tripped and banged his head." Geordi said while Beverly looked at him to see what was wrong with him.
"I don't see a concussion or anything. No cut, bruise but I think he has amnesia." she said then looked at the other two. "I don't know what we can do for that though. Or how long it will take for him to remember everything. So it would probably be better if he took a break from his shifts."
Picard nodded.
"You're right. We can a repeat of when he was fifteen and new. Only know him now. I remember what I said the day I let him come to the bridge. I don't know if he'll be able to tell me he knows what I tried to but we'll see."
They both nodded and then split up. Beverly went to his quarters and had him get changed while Picard told everyone what happened and that it's going to be a repeat of his first time here.
When they got there they all remembered what they said that day so they're going to do that.
Back with Wesley and his mom,
They were standing just inside the turbo lift door. She was uncomfortable because she didn't know what was going to happen this time while Wesley was all eyes, taking in as much as he possibly could in this one limited look at this new place. Beverly started to step out, gesturing to him to stay in the turbo lift.
Her heart was pounding worried he wasn't going to be able to do what he did last time.
"Permission to report to the captain..." she said.
"Children are not allowed on the bridge, Doctor." Captain said coolly but nervous at the same time.
"Captain, my son is not on the bridge. He merely accompanied me on the turbo lift."
"Your son?"
"His name's Wesley. You last saw him years ago when..." she said and trailed her words; Captain understood while Wesley was confused.
"Oh, back then." He glanced from Beverly to Wesley then cleared his throat. "Well, as long as he's here..."
Wesley looked to Picard hopefully. Beverly waited, then Picard shrugged, tried to sound friendly.
"I knew your father, Wesley. Want a look around?" Picard asked and was out like a shot like last time. "But don't touch anything!" Picard continued quickly.
Wesley was in awe. To him, this was the equivalent of a devout Catholic stepping into the nave of St. Peter's Basilica. The turbo lift was on the level of the "horseshoe", so the command positions were spread below him. Picard moved down to the captain's chair level and he moved with him. Wesley was careful to put his feet down just right so he doesn't even scuff the floor. Captain watched, stepped aside to gesture toward the command chair.
"Try it out." Capitan continued and he did so. "The panel on your right is for log entries, library-computer access and retrieval, view screen control, intercoms, and so on."
"Yes sir. And here, the backup Conn and ops panels, plus armament and shield controls." Wesley said nodding and pointing.
Captain looked closely at Wesley, perplexed.
"The forward view screen is controlled by the ops position..." Captain started and waited to hear Wesley know the answer.
But instead of interrupting him he sat there excited to learn what it does.
"Which uses high resolution, multi-spectral imaging sensor systems..." he continued.
Then as planned, a very distinctive signal sounds and Picard waited for Wesley, being closest to the control, would transferred the signal into audio.
But he was startled and confused what was going on.
"What's going on?" he asked looking around.
"Off the bridge! Both of you." Captain said while he looked at Beverly and she looked back.
'This is going to take a while.' they thought.
Worf had come to his feet, pretending to not be sure whether or not he should respond to the call. Beverly was hustling Wes toward the turbo lift.
"You have a perimeter alert, Captain." Worf said like last time.
Then Beverly had Wesley leave into the turbo lift, and they were gone.
Picard sighed and waited for her to come back.
When she did they were all in the meeting room. She had asked Wesley to go to bed because it was late.
"This is going to take a while." she said.
"I know. It's not gonna be the same with him being what he was at first." Geordi said.
"I agree." Data said.
"We'll think of something. He worked hard at becoming the officer he is now. So he deserves to be it." Picard said and everyone nodded.
"Maybe start out like it was his first time here. Show him around." Riker said.
They all nodded thinking it was a good idea.
