After that, albeit strange, encounter with Raph things got a little... Weird. Awkward is the best word for it. Awkward turned to tense as we both tried to ignore the awkward, and it gave way to arguments.
So now, a week later, I'm hiding in my room. Trying to avoid Raph. Every time we see each other, we always seem to find something to fight about. The remote control, coke, who sits where, etc. Our last fight was this morning, about who got up first. It was stupid, because I don't sleep at night. Raph does to keep normal with his family and to hide that he's the NightWatcher. He woke up at five in the morning, just as I come back from killing another criminal. We met in the kitchen, I yawned, he asked if I had a good night's rest. I snorted and said I was up before the night started, then he said he had been up all night watching movies. I cracked a joke, and Leo woke up to us tumbling around the ground, throwing punches at each other.
I spent an hour nursing my bloody knuckles and mumbling nonsense to myself. Raph stayed downstairs and watched TV.
"Hey Raph! You coming?" Mikey's voice echoed up the stairs to my room. Oh yeah, the family is heading out late this afternoon to visit an old warehouse to train. Don had asked if I wanted to tag along an hour ago, but I turned the offer down. I had planned to stay in and sleep.
What I didn't know was that Raph wasn't going. If I had known, I might have taken up Don's offer. Too late for that. I sighed as I waited for Raph's answer. Please say yes. Please say yes.
"No thanks. I'm jus' goin' ta watch TV, maybe play with my punchin' bag. It's been awhile since I've done that." Raph answered back. Crap! Now I won't be able to go downstairs without worry over hurting my friend.
"Are you sure Raph?" Don asked. I heard the telltale sign of the door opening.
"Yea. Go have fun." Raph called back.
Shit. My head hit the pillow I laid on, and I sighed into it. What am I going to do? There will be no one to stop us if we get into a fight, and we might do more then give each other a bloody lip this time.
Maybe I can wait it out till the family gets back. They can't be gone too long… Oh who am I kidding? They'll be gone for hours, and I am human. I'll have to leave my room at some point to eat, drink, or use the restroom.
Wait! I know. Nobody is here, maybe I can fix our problem. By remaining calm. That wouldn't be too hard.
I jumped out of my bed, energized again. I straightened my tank top and smoothed it out so it fit my body correctly. I pulled the legs of my shorts back to my lower thighs, and fixed my bed. I got to my door, opened it quietly so I didn't alarm Raph, and crept as quietly as I could. The sound of fighting came from downstairs, and I smile at Raph's love for action movies. It's kinda dumb, but at the same time, we fighters benefit from it.
I creeped down the stairs quietly, and got sight of Raph. His back was to me, and I noticed his bandana was off. All there was, was smooth, dark green head. His arms were hooked over the edge of the couch. I notice the two large half moons on the back of his left hand, and blushed as I remembered biting his hand. I didn't break skin, but I did cause a bruise. I felt bad afterwards, but never apologized. He did make me by taunting me though. Human teeth are dull my arse.
I got all the way down the stairs before Raph looked over his shoulder at me. I froze and wondered what he was going to do. Throw something at me? Make a crude comment? Or… smile and wave me over.
I walked forwards slowly, and jumped over the back of the couch when he didn't do anything. The cushion creaked as I landed, and I smiled when Raph rocked sideways comically.
"Hey Raph." I said. He smiled back at me, and straightened himself. He brought his arms from behind the couch and into his lap where a beer can lay.
"Hey Liza." He responded. He bent forwards and grabbed an unopened can. He tossed it to me without looking at me as his eyes returned to the tv.
"Thanks," I answered, and awkwardly held the can. "Did you know I was here?"
Raph shrugged and kicked his legs up on the table. "Yeah. Ya didn' leave with the rest of the family, so I assumed ya were somewhere in the house."
I grimaced at his response, and then grimaced at the beer as I opened it. The shit's gross, and I never understood why Casey liked it. Or why Raph drank it.
"Where'd you get the beer? Master Splinter would have thrown it out if he saw any in the fridge. And Leo would have poured it down the drain if he knew there was some." I asked.
"Hid some under my bed. No one ever goes in my room, so I knew I was safe. Don' tell anyone?" Raph asked me. He glanced over at me. I smiled briefly.
"Okay." I answered. Raph nodded like I told him the answer to a mystery, and then he turned away, back to the tv.
Silence. I guess that's good. We spent two hours watching action movies, and just sat there in comfortable silence. Raph and I had two beers in those hours, and I felt happy about that. It meant that Raph wasn't like Casey, who is seen finish a 6-pack in an hour, and ended up drunk by the second pack.
That didn't mean I was going to let Raph drink six beers by the end of the night. He's sixteen, a ninja, and had a life to actually live. So when he pulled out another for each of us, I was going to make sure he didn't drink a fourth.
"Hey Raph, how many more of these do you have?" I asked casually as I opened up the can. I tipped my head back, took a big gulp, and noticed it didn't taste as bad as before. I know I could go a few more beers before I had a tingly feeling, but the fact it didn't taste bad was a warning.
"Another two packs. Why?" He answered easily. I sighed inwardly at the number.
"Cause I need us to stop after this one." I answered, straight to the point.
"Why? No one's here 'cept us." He said. I snorted at Raphael.
"Cause I don't want either of us getting drunk. Master Splinter and Leo would kill me if we did." I answered.
"Chill. They won' find out, and if they did, I'd take the blame." He answered. I smiled at him, because that was sweet of him to take the blame.
"That's sweet, but I would take the responsibility of one of us getting drunk. I'm older and all." I said, not a vicious comment just a fact.
"By two months!" Raph answered. He twisted his waist towards me, effectively giving me his attention instead of the tv. I sighed and set the can down.
"Master Splinter won't care. Look, please don't drink another can. For me." I pleaded. I didn't think he'd listen, I'd learned Raph was as stubborn as he was hotheaded.
He looked at me closely, then to his can. He tipped his head back, and finished his beer in three gulps. I looked away, back to the TV where the main villain was getting blown up by the hero. When I heard him crush his can I looked at Raph again. He had a cocky look, and his hazel eyes challenged me.
"No." He said simply. I gave him a dull look and sighed. He smirked at me as he reached for another can.
"Yes, you will. If you won't with free will, I'll make you." I said, already thinking of how to get him to stop. Raph picked up the can with a smile on his face, and he stared at me while he slowly made to opened it.
"Stop me." He taunted. When he got his thumb under the cap, I lunged at him.
I heard the thunk of the can hitting the ground the same time Raph grunted as I push him against the couch. I pressed down on his shoulders the same time I plopped myself onto his lap. I wrapped my legs around the underside of his thighs so he couldn't buck me off, and settled my weight evenly. I grabbed his wrists then and pinned them.
"Happy?" I asked. Raph looked around in an attempt to get his eyesight back after the whip flash. When they land on me, his eyes didn't stay on my face for long. They went downwards and paused on my neck for a moment. Then farther down. I felt a shiver go up my spine when his eyes went over my torso, and his eyes flicker to the appearing goosebumps on my arms.
He looked back up, into my eyes. The jester and stubbornness was gone, taken place by something I couldn't quite name.
"Get off." He growled. I raised my good eyebrow at him.
"No." I answered. Raph tried to move his hands but I grabbed tighter. I wondered for a brief moment if I could hurt him by squeezing too hard. While not my main concern I didn't want to cause him pain. Though, then again, he should be able to take it.
"Really, I'm not kiddin', get off." He got out, and twisted his hips sideways. I dug my knees into the couch and squeezed my thighs together to stay on. He had more mobility than I'd originally thought.
"Only if you don't drink another beer tonight." I retorted. He froze, and even past his 'plastron' I could feel his stomach taut as he stopped breathing. He looked me right in the eye, that mischief back.
"No." He drawled. I gave him a done smile and settled my weight in for the long haul. My arms were going to cramp up and my hands were going to go numb, but by the stars I was not getting into Master Splinter's bad grace. He was the only reason Leo wasn't trying to off me.
"Then enjoy this position until the family gets back." I answered. I had only his sharp intake of breath as a warning before I felt whiplash.
It wasn't until my back was against the couch and Raph hovered over me that I realized what had happened. He, somehow, removed me successfully from atop him and now mimicked the position I'd just had him in; hands pinned and torso straddled and all. He pressed his hands down with his weight, which stopped me from even hoping to move. He leaned down until his face was mere inches from mine, and it was a hard look he gave me. I exhaled heavily into space between us. It wasn't hard to tell he had no issue whatsoever, at any part of this altercation, and had only let me think I had him pinned. It was a bit of a wake up call.
"No thanks, I like this position better." He answered, and gave me a wicked smile. I deflated beneath him, not even going to try to put up a fight. He's a ninja, and definitely far stronger, he'll always find a way to get me.
"Whatever." I said as I turned my head sideways, only a little self conscious now that my hair didn't cover some part of the scar across my face. My bangs normally covered it, but on my back my bangs weren't even on my face.
Silence reigned from above me for a short time, almost enough to make me look. Raph's hands twitched around my wrists and his weight shifted. He leaned down, and I didn't think suspiciously enough to try anything in return.
A set of teeth slid along my shoulder, not in an attempt to cause damage, but to... Do something. He placed his mouth around the juncture of my shoulder and neck and bit down just enough to cause a bite mark.
A shiver shot down my spine, and my hands moved upwards like they wanted to grab something. That shiver continued down to the spot between my legs, where it spread warmth.
My heart rate kicked up into overdrive and I could suddenly feel every point he touched. My wrists, my hips, the backs of my thighs, the top of my thighs, my neck.
Raph released the juncture of my neck from his teeth, and started nipping at it to check for what I assumed was possible damage. It felt more like he was zapping me in that moment.
"Raph." I whispered. I suddenly unsafe in the light of these... Feelings. I was aware of what they were, but I couldn't quite figure out why they were.
The mutant stopped moving on top of me.
"Yeah?" He asked right by my ear. A pleasurable thrill went down my spine as his breath went over my wet skin.
"What are you doing?" I asked. It seemed too random to do, even for him.
Raph was silent for a few moments, and then he laughed. It sounded a little strained, but it was a sound that made me react more. My hips moved with the barest of shifts, an unconscious attempt to have friction. A blush flushed my face, all the way up to my forehead, at my reaction.
But then Raph's hands loosen. He inhaled sharply beside my head and his form went rigid. He lifted himself up and removed his body from on top of me.
"Tryin' ta distract ya." He answered too casually.
"Why?" I asked as I felt like I could breathe again. It was easier when Raph wasn't breathing against my neck.
Raph sat up all the way and let go of me. He smiled down at me, as if he was unaffected by what happened just now. It was a ruse and I knew it, because he was tense and his breathing was deeper. Maybe he was trying to distract me, but he was also affected by what he'd just done. Maybe the distraction part was the ruse to cover up his slip up. It seemed too... Sudden to be planned, and there were better ways to distract me.
I sat up as well and slid my legs out from under him. Despite what he said he tried to do, he let me go without any fight. I curled my legs underneath me and shifted to my shins on the couch, mirroring his position.
"So I can have another can of beer." He said simply. I blinked a few times at his bomb drop, because it wasn't what I expected. My jaw dropped minutely as Raph reached for the can on the ground. He was actually going for it.
No, that couldn't be what this was all about. There had to be another reason.
My jaw drop turned into a smirk as a thought appeared. Well Raph, two can play at that game. I'm just going to take it a level up, and hopefully not get burned because this was a hell of a gamble to play.
I reached out and grabbed his wrist, not as an attempt to pull him or stop him in any way, but to get his attention. It worked and he looked over at me. He looked tense, almost like he expected to get punched. I wondered for the briefest of moments if perhaps that's what I should do, but the problem was, I wanted to try this.
I moved one leg forward to get closer, and I watched him stiffen. He didn't have a saving grace to stop me, same as I didn't have a saving grace to stop him just moments prior. I pressed my lips against his, and then stopped. I waited to see if he'd push me away before I moved my mouth, albeit a little awkwardly considering he wasn't moving.
I was the only one that moved for a few seconds, and then Raph snapped like a bow string. His arm came up, wrapped around my body, and pulled me to him almost too tight. He lifted me as he fell back against the couch, and when he stopped moving I found I straddled him. I found... I didn't really mind it. The kiss, his arms wrapped around the entirety of my torso, my legs on either side of his. It seemed nice enough.
I would have thought kissing a half turtle would feel weird, because he had a wider set mouth and much harder skin than me, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. I mean kissing as a whole was weird, but kissing Raph wasn't. It was almost easy, about as easy as it had been to gravitate towards him when I had to pick someone to feel safe around. It was as concerning as it was pleasurable.
I raised my arms up high and wrapped them cautiously around his neck. When he didn't tense or stop or push me away I curled them in just enough to get him closer. It was like reaction his arms did the same thing and pulled me in until my frontside was pressed against his. A sound built up inside him, a low one that emanated from his chest. It rolled like a purr but sounded like a high pitched growl, and I had no idea what to think of the sound. Was it a sound for anger, anxiety, joy, or any other number of emotions?
"Liza." Raph whispered against my mouth. I set back just a pinch, enough for the ability to talk.
"Raph." I answered back, a little out of breath. Raph made a desperate noise, this time in his throat. It sounded like a groan.
His hands moved to grip at my waist, just on the pinch of too tight. I didn't have to make a noise before his grip changed, and he pulled my pelvis towards his. He growled deep in his chest, and the vibrations sent a spark of pleasure through me.
"Yer a tease." He said as he dragged my hips towards him. I felt a shaky breath travel through my chest as more heat pooled. Something ragged went through my throat as he placed me against a clear hard spot that I didn't think was there before. Which meant I knew what it was, and it set my blood on fire. Where was it, how did it hide, what would it feel like?
"You started this with that nibble on my throat." I answered, a false bravado that sounded shaky to my own ears. Raph smirked millimeters from my lips, and he rolled himself up into me. I gasped against the curve of his mouth and thrusted forward on reaction. Raph groaned again, this time a bit more broken.
To get some points into my corner I tilted his head to the side. I brought my lips to his throat and nipped at the green skin. Raph thrusted up into me on reaction, and I felt his arms start to shake.
"Oh, someone is sensitive." I whispered against his skin. Raph moaned and moved his head farther away as I bit down. I soothed the bite immediately with light tonguing. Raph's hands went under my shirt and travelled up to the curve of my breasts. He stopped there and moved his hands right back down.
"Should we stop," I asked, "before we go… too far?"
Raph dropped his head to my shoulder, and his grip on me relaxed.
"Yes we should, before I do somethin' really stupid." He answered.
He pried himself away from me, far enough we could stare at each other.
"Do you want to stop?" I asked.
"No." He answered. I smiled, just a pinch, and Raph returned it right before he pulled himself back. I opened my mouth to respond to him, or ask him why he pulled away, but I heard the door open.
"We're home!" My retort stopped as Mikey's voice echoed through the home. Raph and I shared a scared look, and then move into action. I jumped off of Raph the same time as Raph got up. We both worked to get all of the beers in Raph's arms, and he used his speed to race upstairs. I used the time he was upstairs to pull my shirt down and straighten up my hair to make it appear as if we hadn't done anything… Dirty. I grabbed the remote and flipped the channel to Kill Bill. Well I'm lucky, I get to watch my favorite female actress fight the Crazy 88.
Raph jumped over the edge of the couch and right back next to me. I looked over at him to see him finishing his bandana, and he gives me a quick smile.
"Come here, you must be tired." He said loudly as he pulled me into his side. I heard several sets of feet come around the corner, and a gasp.
"Thanks." I sighed and snuggled into Raph. Raph looked over the edge of the couch at his family.
"Hey! Yer back!" He hollered, "Ya guys will never believe what happened after ya left."
Mikey came up and clapped Raph and I on the shoulders a bit too strongly, and I turned to look at him.
"Mikey, what the shell-" Raph hissed. He reached up to grab Mikey's wrist and toss him off, but Mikey gripped down harder.
"I'm covering your asses, or rather bite marks." Mikey hissed back. Raph and I froze and fought not to look at each other. The three of us stared at Kiddo as she faced the leader of the Crazy 88 until the other three had dispersed.
"Thank you Mikey." I murmured quietly once he removed his hand.
"No problem, I wouldn't want Leo getting his panties in a twist over something that's not his business," Mikey answered. "So, what happened to give you those?"
"It was a little something called," Raph turned around to face Mikey, "Not yer business!"
He punched Mikey in the shoulder.
