Chapter 1
" Clary, come here!"
" Why should I?"
" I am your mother, young lady." She said with her sharp tone she donned when she was disappointed in me.
" Fine! Where are you?"
" In the kitchen, of course! Where else would I be?"
I came down toward the kitchen to see breakfast already on the table. There was a variety of foods set up like a buffet.
I grabbed some bacon and three pancakes. At the table I asked my mom to pass the syrup. I don't put bucket loads of syrup on, but enough to cover everything. It tasted scrumptious.
I had school today. So, I stood up and grabbed my already packed knack sack and walked to the high school. The first day of high school is known to be stressful, and I was stressed out to the max. It's a whole new school and I will need to find new friends. But, the hardest part is the new teachers. I don't know how they act and you don't know how they grade. I hope I don't fail high school, because unlike Elementary school, you can fail a year. Then what would I do?
We had just moved to a different country so I didn't know a single person like some people would. When I arrive coming out of the bus I saw three people standing around like they don't have a care in the world to what's happening around them. Two men and a woman. The men were both tall but their hair and eye colours were different. The one on the right of the girl is a tall boy with short black hair and bright blue eyes. The man on the left of the woman has gold blonde hair and gold eyes. How could you have gold eyes? Does he wear gold coloured contacts? He was quite handsome and probably had all the girls fawning all over him.
Then there was the woman she was very tall for a woman and she had long hair the same shade as the boy on the right of her. She also had heels about eight inches tall that increased her hight even more. With the heels she was taller than the boys on either side of her by a few inches.
'She must be quite tall even without the shoes'
All of a sudden my thoughts were interrupted by the black haired girl. " hey, who are you? I haven't ever seen you before. What school did you go to?"
" Oh, I'm new to the country my name is Clarissa but I like to go my Clary. Who are you?"
" I'm THE Isabelle Lightwood, duh!"
" Alright, alright I get it, you're Isabelle Lightwood."
" I'm THE Isabelle Lightwood"
" Anyway, how are we going to find our first class?"
" Well I went to the open house at the school and the grade twelve students showed us around and my big brother Alec here, is in grade 10 so I can help with that if you need me to."
" That would help, thanks!"
" No pro..."
" Izzy we need to go!" Alex said interrupting his sister.
" Don't interrupt bee bro" ( get it from Aurora Rising)
She said while slapping her brother's hand away from her shoulder.
"Any way, we need to go to class, Izzy let's go."
" Fine. What class do you have first, Clary?"
" I have this..." I said passing her schedule to her so she knows every subject instead of just one.
It said this:
Math 8:30am (A/n my favourite subject)
Science 10:30am
Lunch 12:30pm
Art 1:30pm
French 3:30pm
" Oh, that's great you and Jace have the same classes! I will be in your class for Math, Art, and French."
" well, anyways can you take me to our first class?"
Isabelle starts walking or should I say glide/ striding toward her locker and she found mine which happened to be right beside Jace's. I go to my locker and got my math and Science out. I waited for Isabelle to come find me but she didn't. 'I guess she forgot. Now how will I get to class in time? Wait! I remember that she said Jace is in all my classes and my locker is right beside his. Maybe I can ask him to take me to Math class?
" Uh, Jace?"
" Yeah, Red?"
" I think that Izzy forgot that she was taking me to math. So can you help me?"
"Yeah, Red"
"Stop calling me that! My name is Clary!"
"Not happening, Red!"
'Jace is so aggravating and I've only known him for a few minutes. How can someone be that annoying?'
"Are you thinking about me and my good looks?" He said winking at me. 'Eww why was he winking at me?'
" No, I wasn't thinking about you at all." I lied.
" Sure Red, sure."
He walked me to math. It was a quiet walk. The only sound was our footsteps clomping down the hallway.

Then we entered the math class.
The teacher, Mr Burns. Was it? I mean I don't really remember what his name was. Oh well!
"You finally decided to join us!" He sounded exasperated. 'How late were we?'
"The bell went 2 minutes ago!"
"I didn't know my way to the classroom sorry."
"Alright, that explains why you are late. Why was Mr Herondale late?"
"I was helping her find her way to the classroom because Izzy ditched her."
"Don't be rude Jace!" I said while I elbowed him in the ribs. Hard.
"Well, at least you were being helpful for the new student."
" Now class, we will be reviewing order of operations with positives and negatives included. You should have learnt this when you were in grade 8 and we will have a test on it in 2 days time."
He then explained order of operations. I hadn't forgotten it so it wasn't that difficult for me. He took our practice papers at the end of the hour.
We left math class and went to Science. Where we reviewed Archimedes Principle ' The buoyant force on an object is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object' and the difference between Archimedes discovery of Displacement and Archimedes Principle. Displacement is about the volume and Archimedes Principle is about the Forces. That was interesting. After that we had lunch. Jace went to the popular group table while Izzy decided to stay with me and Alec. You see, Alec didn't like being popular. All of a sudden there was a gasp.
