CH2

A/N: I AM messing with the timeline a bit, mostly mavis and zeref

Makarov was leading the boy to the basement, and then from the basement down into the lowest level of the guild. Few even knew this place existed, as it was very well hidden. Makarov was very unsure as to how on earth this kid knew about it, and how he knew as much as he did about mavis.

The underbasement is a cold, dark stone room with a wooden table at one side, and a file folder in the other. It is a sort of "secret office" only for the guild master and perhaps a trusted advisor, such as gildarts.

Natsu sniffed the air, walking around as if he was following his nose for the exact right location within the small room, before settling just off center on the left side. "you two might want to close your eyes, this will be bright" he said, and they complied. "fairy summon, Fairy life" said the pinkette, which surprised the old man, as all fairy spells created by mavis were supposed to be known by the guildmaster, yet he had never heard of this one. Through his closed eyelids, however, there was clearly a bright light, which died down slowly.

"NATSU! I missed you so much! How is my favourite brother in law doing?" a feminine voice said.

"you can open your eyes now you old men," and they did. The sight before them was incredible, hanging onto the young pink haired boy was the physical form of the first guild master, who was not supposed to have left tenrou island.

"Your brother misses you, you know. It killed him to leave you with igneel" said the once-dead mage.

"I know, I missed you two as well, its been a long time, but even longer for you, hasn't it? How long anyways since the last time for you?" said the pink haired mage

"CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON" gildarts yelled, finally having had enough of people talking like he wasn't there about things that just hurt his brain.

"Well, this is my sister in law, mavis vermillion. She started this guild apparently. Its been a long time, but her and my brother raised me for a while until my big brother left me with igneel." Natsu said, as if that explained everything, and answered all of their questions.

"Natsu, they probably only every heart the rumors of my husband, they have never met him like us, and they will be scared. Also, they have probably only ever heard of you by your other name. ill explain it, okay? Im guessing you want to keep it a secret from everyone else, right? You don't want everyone jumping to conclusions." Asked mavis, to which natsu agreed.

"I trust that what we are about to tell you will never be shared with anyone outside of this room, correct?" mavis asked the other two in the room with a deadly glint in her eyes. Upon receiving an affirmative, her expression changed back to joy at being re-united with her beloved brother in law.

"Well, you see, when natsu was a baby, acognolia attacked his brothers village, and natsu died in the process. His brother blamed himself, and spent many many years trying to find a way to bring his beloved young sibling back. After many failed attempts, and stepping stones, he was revived, and almost entirely the same personality as well. The only difference was a tattoo. Natsu, will you show them your tattoo dear?" natsu took off his shirt, and at first nothing was visible, until he closed his eyes and focused on it appearing, and instead of the fairy tail mark, he had the END symbol (look it up, it's the tartaros guild mark). After a few seconds, the END mark went away, and the fairy tail one replaced it.

"Well, there was that and a few other physical changes, but those are pretty rare" said mavis to gildarts and Makarov. "Well, we raised him in a castle away from everyone for a few years, you see, my husband has a curse from reviving natsu, and everytime he is near a human, they die. I was the sole exception due to my particular brand of light magic, so we were happy together. After a while, my husband realized that both humself and another had to die, but it could not happen, and no one could kill either of them except natsu, so he gave natsu to igneel, and you know the rest. Well, that's most of the story at least…" mavis trailed off like she realized she had said too much,

"who is your husband? Why does some of this seem odly familiar?" asked Makarov.

"my husbands name is zeref dragneel, he is a good man, and this seems familiar because natsu has another name, Etherious Natsu Dragneel, or E.N.D., Zerefs greatest demon. I only tell you this because if you are going to be in a guild with him, it will come up eventually, and Natsu will need someone to help him get out of awkward questions. Hopefully, he rarely has to let loose the demonic side of himself. Now, I am tired, I would like to sleep now. Natsu, be a dear and find me somewhere to sleep, im sure one of these two will show you where to put me." Mavis finished before jumping into natsus arms bridal style and falling asleep.

"we can talk more in a moment, where should I put her?"

"Follow me. Gildarts, stay here, we will be back in a moment." Responded Makarov, entirely shocked that the legendary fairy tactician would marry the darkest mage in history, whos brother was a demon who just joined fairy tail. Wow.

After Natsu put mavis in a bed, they returned to the underbasement, where Makarov and Gildarts had a great many questions for the boy. Eventually, they tired, and enough was explained that the adults were satisfied, or at least as satisfied as they could be.

The next day, Makarov decided that Natsu would have an S-class trial by combat against Erza, Mira, and Gildarts, all at once. Gildarts expected something like this, and was hoping to see the kid break a sweat, while Erza and Mira were entirely shocked. Both that someone was taking an S class promotion trial, and that one eleven year old twerp was supposed to beat three of the strongest mages in the guild at once.

They walked far into the woods, at Natsu's suggestion, before coming to a large clearing in the woods. The fire mage promptly punched the ground, causing all grass in the space to instantly burn up. "clean, level playing field, eh?" he teased with a smirk.

Wendy, having gone out with the group and the whole host of assembled spectators, was cheering, and was the only member of the audience except Makarov and the fire user himesltto place a bet on Natsu with cana, who had placed 1:10 odds on natsu emerging victorious. Needless to say, Makarov was hoping to make quite the pretty penny off of this match.

NEXT TIME: the match itself.

A/N: well I almost finished this chapter in the same writing run that I wrote the first in, so this is just kind of a second part to It I guess. Im kind of planning a long story, so a few chapters to get into some of the good action I don't think is that bad. I love reviews though, because honestly, they make me write more, and give me tips on what I need to work on. As this is my second chapter of fiction ever, I know its probably shit, and someday ill hopefully re-write this to sound better, because I don't even like some of my verbiage, and it sounds repetitive. What can I say, im a science writer, so I spend most of my writing on things that don't require dialogue, which is hard for me.
