"I'm hearing something!"

Lisa's eyes were closed, as her mouth was smiling. She was standing with her feet on the ground, surrounded by trees and some bushes, as Mirii was walking from behind and stopping on the woman's right side.

"Where is the source of his thoughts?" Mirii's head rose, as she turned to her left.

"Sssshh!" Lisa took some steps forward, as she kept her facial expression. "He is... somewhere in here..."

Mirii's irises moved right and left, rapidly, before staring back at Lisa. Her head tilted towards the woman.

"This is so absurd..." Her head shook slowly, as she snorted. "No matter how much I see those unscientific events, I still can't believe them. Am I even going anywhere with her seadog-like behavior?!"

"Uhm! I like seadogs, actually." Lisa chuckled a bit, as she stopped in front of a tree and turned behind, with her eyes opened. "I always wanted a pet..." Her hands clasped. "A small one, so"

"Lisa, where is Hunley?!" Mirii bended forward, as she frowned. "Is he inside that tree?!"

Lisa's mouth opened a bit.

"... you might not be wrong, actually..." The woman turned behind, staring back at the tree. "Aside from his thoughts, I'm... sensing a terrible aura."

"That is obviously the foe we are seeking." Mirii nodded, as her posture lifted.

"To be honest, your aura isn't that amazing either..." Lisa chuckled. "But that's not important, right now."

"Lies are never important." Mirii snorted, as her right hand caressed her right tentacle. "Now, reveal the passage sealed by this tree."

"How?" Lisa's arms folded, as her head tilted to her right. "I have no idea how to unlock this passageway..."

Mirii grumbled, as she walked towards the tree, stopping in front of it. Her hands went on its wooden surface, as they began pressing on various parts.

"… what are you doing?" A sweat drop appears on Lisa's head, as her eyelids lowered to the middle and her mouth flattened a bit.

"I'm looking for a possible mechanism who could activate the door…" Mirii's feet went on tiptoes, as her left hand tapped a tree part.

The woman's mouth opened slightly in an o shape.

"Pffff!" Lisa's left hand went in front of her smiling mouth, as her eyes were squeezing a bit. "You think to get anywhere by applying sweeter waters logic in our world?!"

Some veins popped out from Mirii's forehead, as she kept tapping the tree.

"I'm doing at least something, instead of laughing"

Suddenly, a part of the tree began lowering, leaving a huge puff of dust: Mirii's eyes closed instantly, as she coughed and jumped backwards. Her left foot slip, as the girl fell on her back. Lisa bended down on her knees, as she grabbed Mirii's hands and pulled her upwards. Dust kept coming from the door-shaped hole on the tree. Lisa's hands let the girl go.

"… thanking me is not necessary." Mirii's hands began shaking her clothes. "Let's go."

The girl began walking forward, while her eyebrows were a bit down. Lisa chuckled, as she walked in the same direction, while shaking her head. Mirii dived inside the darkness, seeing a lit floor in the distance. Someone, completely covered in black, went in front of it.

"Curses!" Mirii's eyes expanded. "I forgot to pick my fan...! I-I must"

Quick steps were coming from behind the girl.

"Wh-who walking in there?!" A male voice came from the distance.

The quick steps stopped immediately.

"... Hunley?!" Mirii began rushing towards the shadow figure, while still dived into the darkness. "Hunley! Hunley, I'm coming!"

"M-Mirii?!" Hun took some steps backwards.

The girl's mouth smiled, as her pace speed increased. She emerged from the darkness, as her arms opened wide: she jumped towards Hun, as her arms wrapped around him and her eyes closed.

"Yo-you are fine!" The boy's arms wrapped around her, as he blushed and smiled widely. "You are fine!"

"Of course I am, Hunley..." Mirii blushed, as her head rose, her eyes opened and her smile grew. "Tell me, are you hurt? Do you need medical attention?"

Hun shook his head.

"Aaaawww, look at the two lovesquids...!" Lisa's eyes sparkled, as her hands clasped and went near her left cheek, as her fan was tilting diagonally left.

Mirii's face went full red, as she unwrapped her arms and instantly turned behind, with her irises shrunk and her eyes wide.

"Lovesquids?! You fool!" Mirii's right forefinger pointed at the woman, as her right arm stretched in the same direction, while frowning. "I have trained long enough to not let any useless emotion dictate my rightful decisions!"

"But you wouldn't mind a hug from Master Hun, don't you?" Lisa's left wrist went on her left side, as her right hand shook and put her opened fan in front of her mouth.

"... your question is irrelevant for the current situation." Mirii's arms folded, as her head rose and her eyes closed. "I'm capable of hugging Hunley... but right now, we are not in the conditions to conduct a discussion."

"I have to agree, actually..." Hun's right hand went behind his head, as a sweat drop formed on his head's right side, while smiling. "Why don't we go out of this forest? There is nothing else to do..."

... you are wrong...

The two young Inklings turned behind, with both their mouths opened wide. Lisa's eyes expanded, as her irises were pointed towards the shadow-covered lizard.

… you have seen nothing yet…

Slowly, Thorn rose from the ground: his eyes glowed in bright purple, as he roared loudly. Mirii's eyes squeezed, as her hands covered her ears. Hun's left arm went in front of his face, as a huge wind was going against the Inklings.

Gradually, the darkness surrounding Thorn went away, revealing spikes coming from above his head and his back.

"... this is the first time I'm using my better form against my preys..." The lizard's fingers twitched. "... but at the end, it's going to be worth it..."
