ZAAAP!

An orb appeared in the sky: Hun and Mirii jumped out from it, while they were screaming at the top of their lungs. The two Inklings fell, as Hun turned into a Squid and slowed his falling speed down, waving his tentacles a bit.

Mirii flipped forward, while in midair, before lifting back up.

THUMP!

Her feet slammed the grass, as she immediately fell on her back, while releasing a yelp. The Squid was coming towards her face… Mirii's eyes expanded, as she rolled to her right side. Hun began spinning on himself, as the tip of his head pointed at the grass: drips of blue ink came from his head.

Plooch!

Hun dived inside a small blue stain, as he immediately emerged from it and turned his head around. His head stopped its tilts, once he was staring at Mirii getting up on her feet.

"Mirii!" His eyes grew, as he returned back into his humanoid form. "Tell me you are fine!"

"Ugh…" Mirii bended forward, as her right hand went on her back and her eyelids lowered to the middle. "… I could have done it better…" Her eyes squeezed. "Ow, ow, ow…"

Hun rushed towards Mirii, stopping on her right side and raising his eyebrows.

"Do you want me to…" He blushed. "… pick you up and carry you for a while?"

The girl's eyes grew, once her head was pointing back at him, as she blushed visibly.

"W-w-w… well…" Her knees were trembling a bit. "… even though I could probably walk for miles, after such landing…" She smiled a bit. "I wouldn't mind a ride… for a little while at least, since I'm full of energy!" She giggled.

Hun smiled, as he chuckled.

"Ok, Mirii…" He bended down a bit, as his hands went behind her back and legs. "… hang on me!"

Hun pulled the girl from the ground, as Mirii's arms wrapped around his neck. They both blushed even more than before.

"Uff!" Sweat covered Hun's forehead, as his feet began walking. "We shouldn't be too far from the Shrine, right?"

"I could give you an answer, Hunley…" Her head turned down, on her left, as her eyebrows went up. "… but I'm afraid to make you take the wrong decisions."

"Well, you should still give it a chance." Hun's eyes closed, while smiling. "There is nothing wrong into doing that, right?"

Mirii's head returned back to her previous position, as her mouth opened a bit and for a brief while. She giggled a bit.

"From the looks of this land…" Her head turned around, seeing grassy hills and forests in the distance. "… it seems we are indeed close-ah! Actually…" Her eyes grew a bit. "If we encounter that fog, then we are definitively near the Shrine!"

"Good point!" Hun nodded, as his eyes were staring at a cloud-like wall up ahead. "I was forgetting that… thankfully, I have you on my side."

Mirii blushed once more, as her irises shrunk slightly.

"Oh, Hunley…! Me… too." She whispered a bit, as she smiled widely and closed her eyes.

"Uhm?" His irises pointed at the girl's face, as his mouth opened a bit.

"I… I'm so glad that you are helping me out…" Her eyes opened back, as she looked at the boy. "If there is anything I can do, to repay you back…"

"It's nothing, really!" Hun blushed, as he smiled. "Just seeing you… fine and all, that's it." He nodded.

Mirii's eyelids lowered to the middle, while keeping her smile.

"I don't bite, if you ask me a favor…" She giggled.

"I will remember that, if I ever need one." He nodded. "I just want to go home, now…"

Mirii's mouth opened wide.

"Hunley, I have to make a call!" Her hands went away from his neck. "If we are truly back, I should be able to call Tonna!"

"Ah, sure!" Hun stopped, as his knees bended and his hands moved down.

Mirii's feet touched the grass, as her right hand grabbed her smartphone and brought it in front of her face. Her right thumb was quickly pressing on its screen.

"It's going to be a matter of seconds." Her right hand carried her smartphone on her right ear, as her head rose and her irises were slightly up.

The boy turned to his right, watching the cloud-like wall for a second, before returning back. Mirii's mouth formed a small point.

MIRII?! IS THAT YOU?!

The girl's shoulders rose, as her eyes squeezed.

"Lower that tone, you imbecile!" Mirii frowned, as her head tilted slightly down.

HEY! Are you asking for a penalty?!

Mirii growled.

"I'm asking for respect…" Her head rose.

Then, give me respect too!

She snorted, as her irises pointed upwards.

Wh-where are you been?! Is Hun with you?! WHERE ARE YOU BEEN?!

"Yes, Hunley is with me…" Mirii smiled, as her head pointed at the boy. "I will tell you more, once I'm back inside the Headquarters."

No no, don't come back!

Her mouth flattened.

"… excuse me?"

You heard it correctly, Mirii! It's… aaaah, it's a bit complicated to explain on the phone… but don't come! You have to reach Inkspray Inkland as soon as possible!

"WHAT?!" Mirii bended forward, as her eyes expanded.

"What's going on, Mirii?!" Hun frowned.

"Are you insane?!" She frowned a lot. "If I don't come back to the Headquarters, I"

The Headquarters already know you are supposed to be there! Do you think that after a week, they already forgot about your new roles?!

…

"… a week…?" Mirii's face went paler.

Yes, a week. Why so surprised?

"But… but that's impossible!" She lifted her posture. "We returned in our world after some hours!"

World? What are you… gah! Never mind! You can't return inside the Headquarters! Where are you, now?!

"We are about to return inside the Shrine..." Her eyelids lowered to the middle, as her right hand lowered and brought her smartphone below her face. "Hold on, let me see if the date-WHAT THE?!"

Now what?!

"... my smartphone is even connected to the Inknet..." Her eyes blinked, as her right hand brought her smartphone on her right ear. "My apologies: I just saw today's date." She sighed. "I cannot deny it: we skipped one week, when we were"

"We skipped one week?!" Hun's eyes expanded. "Bu-but I remember that"

"Hunley, the reason goes deeper than we could ever predict..." Her eyebrows went up, as her mouth downturned. "There is nothing we can do, but remember the portal's functionality and never repeat the same mistake."

"… you are right." The boy's head nodded. "At least we solved our problem…"

A silent wind passed in between the two Inklings.

"Tonna, tell us what to do now." Mirii's head rose, as her irises moved to her right side. "If we can't return inside the Headquarters… then, how are we"

For now, head back inside the Shrine. I will call you later on, once I have settled certain things...

"Very well." The girl's head pointed at the cloud-like wall in the distance. "Before you close the"

If you are looking for explanations, I will tell you all the important bits in the later call. Right now, I can't talk any longer… I'm literally surrounded by towers of papers and I must get them done before midday!

"... make sure to gather enough time to not leave us inside the ignorance." Mirii snorted.

Sure, sure, I will call… I must do it, anyway.

The girl's eyes squeezed a bit.

Bye.

"Bye." Her right hand lowered, as her eyes were staring at the smartphone's screen. "I can't wait all this time to know the truth… let's see if Grina happens to know anything about this."

Her right thumb pressed on the screen.

"Shouldn't we go inside the Shrine?" Hun's mouth sealed.

"Be patient, Hunley…" Her right hand brought her smartphone back on her right ear, as she smiled at the boy. "I'm calling Grina, so she would tell us"

Sorry, I'm busy working! Please leave a message, so I will call you up later!

Mirii's eyes expanded.

Bip!
