Sorry for the long hiatus. I'm at least trying to have everything updated at the same time. I am not the type of person that will give my readers false hope, but I can guarantee that this story will still continue on until I can't find anymore inspiration for it. I can only hope that this next chapter will help satiate the growing hunger to read.

Anyway, I do not own any of the characters from either series but my own.

Enjoy!

Chapter 4: Rude Awakening

Battles that were fought in the Soul Palace abruptly came to a halt, including the battle between Ichigo and Yhwach within the palace of the Soul King. What they knew of the Soul Palace suddenly starts to unveil itself. Buildings that were once there were now replaced with different, but breathtaking landscapes of different shapes and sizes. Each landscape, no matter the size, were connected to the next by a white swirling mass, a portal if one were to be specific, with each piece of land going higher and higher than the previous. At the center of all of this is a tall, white, slender tower with a wide, spindle castle-like structure at the top.

"When the souls reach towards the light, the moon shall bring serenity once more," a young male voice said, almost as if he were in a trance.

Shunsui listens to the new voice with interest as did Nanao.

Sweet magic as hot as the sun and a strength like the cold ocean waves shall be unleashed.

Urahara blinks as the young voice gives a somewhat accurate detail of the feeling he and the Arrancar had felt.

A giant who claims he is the embodiment of miracles shall fear Miracles itself.

Both Toushirou and Byakuya pause mid-step for a brief moment before putting their feet on the ground slowly as they had just left the insides of the castle.

"Fear Miracles?" Byakuya questions the newly projected voice.

"Itself?" The two turn to look at each other before turning their attention to the young male voice.

But to think the ones foolish enough to forcefully awaken us,

To make this place your home, and render our elaborate illusion useless.

While I admire how you Quincys managed to eat away at the illusion,

The sounds of cracking over a hard surface is heard throughout the dark and quiet hallways, nearly covering the entire surface. Soon enough, the crystal shatters giving way to a twenty-year-old man with pure white, spiky hair with his fringe, or bangs of a sort, reached down to his left eye, wearing a white double-breasted trench coat with black lapels fastened by four buttons on either side and a golden wing pair badge pin. He is wearing a black colored belt with a large buckle around his waist, slightly baggy pants, and white combat boots with furry black liners. There is a gold ring around his right ring finger and another one that is loosely around his neck despite it being covered up by the collar. His ears were sharp like the ears of an elf. His four large and white colored wings were completely limp as his body slowly floats down to the ground. As soon as he touched the ground, whatever force that was at work stopped, he fell face forward. He lays there, eyes closed to the world.

I am afraid you've signed your death warrant.

All the Quincys who were still alive stiffened. The Quincy King sound intrigued by the stranger's comment. In the room with Yhwach, both Ichigo and Orihime stood still at the ready in case the newly self-proclaimed Soul King tried anything funny while listening to the mysterious young man's voice.

His fingers began to twitch slowly, and sure enough, the young man's fingers clawed into the pristine marble floor before curling into fists. A very soft and low growl vibrates in his throat.

Oh well.

The angel struggles to get all of his body functions to work. After a minute of struggling, the divine being manages to get on his knees. The growl continues to grow louder and louder.

It's a shame, really.

The young man is now standing clutching his head, but he is now baring his sharp fangs. The growl is becoming more emanate with each second that passes.

Because Destiny's Roar…

His eyes, that were shut closed, slowly opens revealing glowing teal slitted eyes with a mix of frosty white. But his eyes were being consumed by a glow of white in a slow manner. The growling now resonates throughout the halls of his home. The strange symbols where his pupils would normally be begins to glow in the same frost white color just like his eyes.

Will unleash the shackles of fate once more.

A loud explosion booms across the former Soul Palace and down in the Seireitei. Those who were down below, in the Seireitei, could only hear as the bizarre phenomenon took its place in the sky. The four wings on his back unfurls and his bends his head towards the sky. A bloodcurdling roar tore through his throat unleashing the power that was building up upon Shinigamis, Quincys, Hollows, and normal souls down in Soul Society.

The bright sky quickly darkens. Lightning flashes in the sky as the sound of thunder booms across the heavens. The gentle breeze became a whirlwind of emotions that is no longer being held back with restraint. The floating landscapes surrounding the white tower in the center began to shoot a pillar of different colored lights. Light blue, amber yellow, emerald green, dark grey, cyan, red, mako blue, lavender, indigo, orange, gold, rose pink, vermillion, black, aquamarine, and crimson. The powerful aura surrounding the male angel is frost white. The whiplash from the sudden power of the roar and the beam of lights caused almost every being, soul or human, to fly off of their feet. The beams of different colored lights slowly dims and fades away, but the male angel is still in the sky. His eyes were still glowing white as well as the symbol.

"This is something that I could not foresee. Though I am curious, what is an angel doing here of all places?" Yhwach looks at the male angel, quickly recovering from the sudden whiplash.

"What the hell?!" Ichigo shouts from behind the Shun Shun Rikka shield. The area around Ichigo and Orihime had changed drastically. It is a simple area consisting of a flat water plain with a large arching grind beams. In the center is a large, white and low-sitting chair that is flanked by two white shell-like structures.

The two taicho-leveled shinigamis can hear the taps of someone approaching from behind. Both male shinigamis turn to look at the newcomer coming down the stairs. The figure is a young man clad in black from pretty much head-to-toe, and his face is obscured by a mask. Toushirou and Byakuya remain tense, their zanpakutos in front of them, as the young man is now in front of them just a couple yards away. He spares them a sleepy glance before turning his attention towards the male angel in the sky.

"His eyes are glowing," he yawns while stretching his muscles. Suddenly, he stops what he is doing and quickly whips his head up once more then to the white tower and right back to the angel again, his eyes were slightly wide with white. A dry and humorless chuckle creeps up the twenty-year old man.

"I don't know if I should be amused that the Quincy King is going to die violently from the Harmonic Crystal and Cherubim, or should I be afraid of the terrible fate he is going to meet?"

"Who are you?" asked Byakuya, still gripping his sword. The mysterious figure then turns his head towards the two taichous. His glowing black eyes analyze Byakuya before transitioning over towards Toushirou. The warrior slightly tilts his head to the side while looking at the tenth division's leader.

"You look exactly like him," The sudden comment puzzles the two shinigamis. Sensing their confusion, the young man clad in black points at Toushirou and then at the angel in the sky: "Though, there are some minor and a couple of major differences between the two of you. And as for your question…,"

The mysterious stranger's eyes transitioned over to Byakuya's: "You can call me… King for the time being," The tall black figure answered the heir of the Kuchiki household.

"Now if the two of you will excuse me, I've got a usurper to stop," In a flash of blue light, a strange machine-like sword materializes in the young man's right hand, and throws it in the direction of the white tower and the with the mysterious figure no longer standing where he once stood.

A pair of greyish toned, white boots stepped on the thin water surface of the white sanctuary-like place alerting Ichigo, Orihime, and Yhwach of their presence. The short and mysterious figure is wearing a black hooded cloak with blue cargo pants, and a mask that covers the facial features. Their eye sockets were glowing indigo. The figure casually walks over towards the two red heads, and only coming to a stop as soon as they are at their side.

"Might I ask that you give us back the Harmonic Crystal that you took from us?" A boyish voice comes from the figure nearly surprising the other three.

Yhwach raised a brow, "Do you mean the power of the Soul King?" The figure silently nods his head.

"And what do you plan on using it for?"

"That's a very good question," another young and boyish voice spoke out loud. The newcomer is a young boy wearing a red helmet, red, light armor chest plate, red gauntlets, and poofy red pants. A white cape encompasses his neck. And a red mask covering most of his face except for his glowing emerald green eyes.

"But that is not the question you should be asking in your position, isn't that right guys?"

Fourteen others made their presence known to the group. Each of them were wearing different styled clothing and armors, and a mask to hide their identities.

"Do all of you wish to fight me?"

"Will you please give us back the Harmonic Crystal?" the only female angel of the group spoke up.

The Quincy King frowns at the lack of an answer, "I'm afraid cannot relinquish this power over to you."

The hooded figure beside Ichigo and Orihime just sighs, "Well, we tried being nice about it, but I guess we'll just have to do this the hard way. And as for the answer to your question…"

A loud crash comes between the new Soul King and his previous two opponents.

"I'm afraid your opponent is none other than one of the Three Celestial Angels, Cherubim, the Beast Angel," the mysterious hooded figure finishes his sentence as the male angel, now identified as Cherubim, charges right at the Quincy at breakneck speed with a sword as tall as the angel with the guard in the shape of teal feathery dragon-like wings and a gold ring with strange inscriptions that is floating around where the hilt and guard meet.

Previews to the next chapter:

The Harmonic Crystal. The very thing that Shinigamis, Hollows, and Quincys had believed to be their Soul King, a person of immense power, was nothing more than a large, shining rainbow colored crystal. Everyone felt relieved that it was safe as well as the Spirit Realm and the World of the Living no longer collapsing in on itself. Suddenly, the crystal had a large crack worrying the Zero Squad and the Gotei 13, mainly the captains and vice-captains, and it continued to spread until the crystal shattered, splintering off into the seventeen mysterious individuals' hands.
