Chapter 5: Warriors of Distant Worlds
A loud boom catches the ears of many of the captains, vice-captains, Quincies, and Ichigo's friends. A trickle of sweat rolled down the Shinigami Daiko's face as he witnessed the powerful display of strength of the male angel. One of the mysterious figures, a male with spiky blonde hair casually walks away along with another male with dark brown hair giving off a bad boy type vibe.
"Oi!" The two males stop in their tracks with the blonde turning his head to the side as if he was asking Ichigo to continue.
"Aren't you going to help your friend?"
"No." The brown haired male embarks once more, but the blonde stays behind for a bit. The mysterious male briefly glanced at the ongoing battle then to Ichigo. "Not getting in the middle of that fight," he states before following his companion.
"Let Cherubim take care of the usurper. The rest of us need to take care of the other problems that need to be addressed," At their leader's demand, each of them begin to leave except for the female angel. The angel examines the pair, mainly Ichigo, with interest. In a blink of an eye she is in front of the Shinigami Daiko.
"You are an interesting individual, Kurosaki Ichigo," the female angel stated, amused by his immediate reaction to her comment. Before the young man could speak, the angel cuts him off as if she knows what he was about to ask, "I know about you and your friends, and unlike Yhwach, who can only see the possible futures, I can trace the timelines and lead others down the correct path. Speaking of possibilities, it would seem that Cherubim is now fully conscious."
Stealing another glance at the male angel, she leaves the area following her other comrades to do what she must, but not before patting both Ichigo and Orihime on the shoulder.
The strength of the attack had pushed both the Quincy King and the male angel outside the white tower. Cherubim's glowing white eyes glared at the usurper as a growl escaped his throat. The beast angel's stance was wild and feral, but the way he held the blade was laxed which was a contradiction.
"You should have released what does not belong to you when you were given the chance. Now we must kill you," he shares to Yhwach as multiple distorted voices come out of his mouth. Sword in hand the angel once again charges swing his sword creating projectiles of hard light and some of them coated in white lightning. The King blocks the incoming shots with his broad sword made of reishi creating a smoke screen. Yhwach barely manages to block Cherubim's sword with his own. One of the white wings makes a swipe at the king. He moves out of the way, but it grazes him on the cheeks as a trickle of red appears.
Metal against metal, parrying and countering, and each time they clash the bright glow in Cherubim's eyes begins to dim until Yhwach can see his slitted teal eyes covered in the frosty white glow.
"I'm surprised that Destiny went easy on you," Yhwach looks at his opponent with interest and surprise at the deep but young voice that came from the angel.
"You speak as if this Destiny is a different entity,"
Cherubim twirls his katana by the hilt. "You could say that, however I think of it as 'I am thou, thou art I' so it really depends on the point of view. Besides, even if Destiny and I don't kill you, there is another way to kill you," he stated casually before taking a more formal stance, his eyes sharp and cold at the enemy as he also took his fighting stance. Yhwach noticed the small transition in Cherubim's pupils taking the shape of a broken infinity symbol. In a blink of an eye, the fight ended before it had truly even begun.
He breathed heavily. It would seem that no matter how much damage he dished out his opponent would give out the same amount, and possibly more, of the suffering back to him as well. It was tiresome and annoying. The dark haired Quincy had been prepared for anything since he had been recruited. He all he wanted was revenge for the death of his mother, but instead played the unintentional role as the double agent. The Quincy was not prepared for the King's Almighty nor was he even aware of it at the time. Now, he was struggling against Yhwach's right hand man, and both of them were nearly even in terms of power due to their Schrifts. His being the Antithesis and the other being the Balance.
One could take a look at this battle and say to him that he was losing, but the situation before him did not sit right with him. Nothing about this feels right. It was like something was ahead of schedule than it should be. His thoughts were quickly cut off as he felt a sudden heaviness wash over them. It didn't feel like reiyoku, however, it was similar in a sense not to mention it felt extremely cold.
"Getting your ass whooped by a dying man is just pathetic,"
Another voice speaks to the other, "Hm. He fared better than expected. Have to give him credit for that."
The young men from before stood on a higher platform just above the two Quincies. Both of them clad in black clothing and carrying a sword in their hand. Glowing eyes stare at the battle before. The two men jump down to their level just casually walking in between and past them. The sound of a trigger and something clicking back into place alerted Uryu that something had occurred. Blood gushed out of Haschwalth and splattered everywhere it could touch coating everything that was white with red. Uryu didn't even have time to comprehend the event before his eyes. Haschwalth's death was so sudden and swift, but the two warriors paid no mind to the double agent as they continued to walk away as if nothing had happened.
"Who… who are they?" Uryu stuttered, not even sure if it was from fear or exhaustion.
The bird tore through another Shinigami hearing the squelch of flesh being stepped on. He was insanely joyous, frantic, angry, and yet he was afraid. Afraid to die, to join his fellow Quincies' souls in the cycle of reincarnation or be with the others who were condemned to the chains of the eternal flames in Hell. And so Lillie struggles to survive killing any Shinigami that dared to cross his path with glee, frantic to get away from the divine zanpakuto that had managed to cut him, angry about his powers being taken from him, and now afraid of the sole individual clad in blue armor from head-to-toe who stood right in front of him along with the other beings who effortlessly killed of his clones one by one. And now he is surrounded. Their faintly glowing eyes bore relentlessly into his soul from every direction. Lillie flaps his wings in a moment of desperate escape. However, his body does not respond to his commands.
"Sorry pal, but you're not going anywhere," a man with wild brown hair states to the captive. One of the male's hands was out in front of him and lifted a finger from its previous position. As if he was being controlled against his own will, Lillie walks forward towards the blue knight in front of him.
"He's all yours for the taking, Knight," His body was now back in his control, but he had no time to comprehend his final moments beforehand as the knight's blade cleaved him in half.
It was no longer a war. It was a flat out massacre. Many of the Quincies were dying left and right from burning to freezing, and while others tried to run they were immediately cut down. The ones with enough sense had quietly surrendered and their lives were spared from the onslaught. The battlefield was a beautiful mesh of controlled chaos until everything suddenly became very quiet.
Ichigo quickly turns his head to find the beast angel, however, he was no longer in sight and the body down below laid in its own pile of blood with large fissures rapidly appearing on the surface of the body as if something was trying to break free of its shell-like prison. What the angel did to Yhwach made all their struggles look like child's play. Those with captain and vice captain-like reiatsu were quickly gathering down below where the body lay. Utilizing the power of her Shun Shun Rikka, Orihime uses her Santen Kesshun to make a platform for both herself and Ichigo to step on and slowly brings it down to ground level.
Uryu, despite the injuries he carried, managed to bring himself to the disfigured form of what used to be Yhwach. It was sad to see the pride of the Quincy be brought to this, and it left a somewhat bitter feeling in the dark haired archer that he wasn't able to kill the King but beggars can't be choosers. Seeing as there were no healers amongst the large group, Orihime quickly activates Souten Kisshun healing the injuries of everyone that is there.
The sound of glass breaking draws everyone's attention to the mangled corpse. Emerging from the broken form was a large multicolored crystal aweing everyone as the feeling of warmth washed over them like a blank.
"Can someone explain to us as to why a crystal came out of this bastard?" asked a confused Ikkaku.
"I think it is called the Harmonic Crystal," Urahara voiced his answer.
"Harmonic… Crystal?"
"I don't really know what it is, but from what I heard it is a crystal that converts energy from our battles and converts it into cosmic energy which is used to fuel other worlds,"
"Now that you've mentioned it, seventeen mysterious figures appeared out of nowhere asking if they can have the crystal back, and another thing is that one of the figures confirmed that the Soul King is this thing," Ichigo states, pointing at the crystal. Many of them were shocked by this revelation but it did not last long.
The Harmonic Crystal. The very thing that Shinigamis, Hollows, and Quincies had believed to be their Soul King, a person of immense power, was nothing more than a large, shining rainbow colored crystal. Everyone felt relieved that it was safe as well as the Spirit Realm and the World of the Living were no longer collapsing in on itself. Suddenly, the crystal had a large crack worrying the Zero Squad and the Gotei 13, mainly the captains and vice-captains, and it continued to spread until the crystal shattered, splintering off into the seventeen mysterious individuals' hands.
Weapons were drawn once more at the individuals floating in the sky. The crystals in their hands were drastically different from each other and from what it was previously.
"Oi! Give it back!" Renji shouts, his zanpakuto at the ready.
The pinkette woman scoffs, "Please, if Yhwach manages to steal it from you guys by barging into the front door of the palace and us stealing it in front of you, what makes you think you guys can protect it from other invaders of our caliber?"
Her comment angers those down below them. "True, but what makes you guys think that you guys can get away with those powers and play God?" Shunsui casually questions the mysterious individuals. It was the female angel that answered this time.
"For one, we can utilize the power of the crystals that were bestowed to us. Second…," The angel appears behind him leaning against him like he was a pillar: "we are not gods. But I can show you one."
The chilling tone sends a small shiver down his spine as the said Captain turns around making a swipe at the angel, but misses as she dodges it with ease. He goes for another swing. This time instead of dodging, she blocks it with her bare hand.
Underneath their feet, a circle with strange symbols appear.
"Switching faces between three: the Serene, the Happy, and the Angry!
Awed and feared by mortals and creatures that quake,
Swing your blades in your arms of six
Bringing salvation, mercy, and destruction in your wake!
Queen of the Eidolons!
Matriarch of the Feymarch!
Hindu Goddess of War, I summon thee!
Asura!"
The sky darkens once more, and an orange light nearly consumes surviving members of the war but never doing any harm to them. Lightning flashes in the sky barring a large apparition looming over them. No longer was the white tower standing there, but rather a large traditional Japanese castle burning from the flame's rage. Standing on the rooftop's beams is a pale and slender female with red markings that covered the majority of her figure, she had three faces, and she wore a limited amount of battle damaged traditional Japanese armor. She also had long flaming red hair. Asura looked the part of a human being if it weren't for the fact that she had six arms instead of two, and each hand had a sword. Three were the traditional metallic silver as for the other three, they were black as the night sky. The Eidolon finally opens her dark red eyes peering down at each individual with her scrutinizing gaze. Most of the group looked at her with shock as for the others they glared at her.
The female angel giggles. Shunsui stares at her as she makes a comment to everyone, "If you guys manage to defeat Asura, then you might be able to fight against us. Besides, my comrades and I are not your enemy. Until we meet again, Soutaicho. Do it now, King!"
The fabric of reality starts to tear open behind the mysterious individuals distracting many of the individuals surrounding the angel. Using this to her advantage, she effortlessly tossed Shunsui over her shoulder and bounced out of there to where the others were. Soifon, the head of the Second Division, being the quickest of the bunch, speeds toward them with Suzumebachi poised and ready to strike them down.
"Ophanim!"
"On it, Knight! Golem! Earthen Wall!" The strange glyphs appeared once again and emerging from it was a creature made of rocks. It's yellow eyes glared down at the petite woman, and without a moment to waste, a large wall of earth abruptly blocked the captain's path making her come to a halt. A second after it was summoned, the wall of earth began to crumble and the mysterious beings and the rock creature were nowhere to be found.
"What foolishness to wend after people with powers unseen to thy ordinary, people who've hath lost so much and asketh f'r nothing in returneth, and the very same people who've best'd the God of Discord and the Destroyer of Worlds," The words of Asura boom down to the people below her: "They art the ones who is't did grise up to the harsh trails of mine kind, overcame the obstacles yond did lie out ere those folk, and did gain our trust and power to defeat what ev'r cometh their way. So bid me, art thee all worthy f'r the hardships they wilt throweth thy way, 'r wilt thee all wallow in despair f'r the tragic nonce yond hast yet cometh to passeth in thy time?"
The mythically being brandishes her swords and with the fire still burning making her look even more deadly. "We shalt see f'r I, Asura, wilt beest thy first judge to assess the arts thy kinds possess."
Translation:
'What foolishness... the Destroyer of Worlds'- What foolishness to go after people with powers unseen to your world, people who've lost so much and ask for nothing in return, and the very same people who've bested the God of Discord and the Destroyer of Worlds.
'They art the ones... hast yet cometh to passeth in thy time?'- They are the ones who stepped up to the harsh trials of my kind, overcame the obstacles that laid out before them, and gained our trust and power to defeat what ever comes their way. So tell me, are you all worthy for the hardships they will throw your way, or will you all wallow in despair for the tragic even that has yet come to pass in your time?"

Lightning frowns as she watches the battle rage on unaware of Frionel walking over to her: "Gil for your thoughts?"
"This is Earth, no matter what universe, there shouldn't be any Gods ruling over it. Watchers to keep watch. Not to mention the flow of souls...," Her eyes narrow to the side as her sentence falls short. Frionel then turns to the vision of the battlefield: "I see... that is very concerning."
Everyone else didn't say a word knowing what they were implying. There was something very wrong about all of this as the ominous silence clutched them in its claw.
