Sheldon just disappeared behind the door near the right corner, closing it right after. Mirii was standing in front of Greta, keeping a neutral expression.
"Grina, where"
"Greta." She grinned.
Mirii snorted.
"... Greta, where are those Stingrays?" Her head rose.
"Eager to splat them down, hmm?" The tall girl bended forward, changing her grin with a smile. "Keep holding your tentacles, smart one!"
Immediately, Mirii squeezed her eyes into slightly taller lines.
"Short...? Did you called me"
"Nooouu, I didn't..." Greta rolled her eyes. "I called you 'Smart One'."
Mirii left one more snort, before her eyes would return back to normal.
"Hunley." Her head turned over the boy.
He looked back, while holding his Splattershot Jr. from its muzzle.
"Yes?"
"Would you like to keep me company?" Her cheeks blushed, growing a smile.
"Huh?" He blushed as well.
"The wait isn't that big: it's just a matter of keeping your eyes open for 3 minutes max!" Greta sighed. "Although, it would have been cute to hear the poems you two came up with."
"Poems?!" Mirii's blush expanded all over her face. "I-I just wanted to take a walk around the villa!" She vaguely frowned. "An-and I wanted to invite Hunley over..."
"Eh eh eh." Greta lowered her eyelids. "Can't wait to read your"
"Enough!" Mirii is frowning for real. "Why don't you talk about the Stingrays' hideout instead?!"
"Groan..." Greta's smile went away. "... you gotta work harder with that easygoing personality of yours." She walked past her friend. "Follow me, gang: Talks-a-lot must have"
THUUUMP!
The three all turned towards the source of such noise: Bars was keeping his Roller down, surrounded by some other weapons and papers near the table.
"Whoa... it even makes an earthquake!" He chuckled.
"Watch it, pal!" Greta showed her teeth. "That floor is still part of our villa! Add also Crabby, who is gonna ask a fortune for his toys!"
"Oops!" His mouth kept his chuckles.
Greta growled, before turning back.
"... if I had the strength, I would took that weapon off his hands..." Mirii's head shook, while grimacing and following the other two Inklings. "Now I have to keep my eyes open… even among us..."
One second that her head rose… she was in front of the door.
"Let us in, Sheldon!" Greta knocked on the door, three times. "Come ooon! We grew impatient!"
"One second, Squids! I just need to attach…" His voice faded into a mumble.
The girl looked back at Mirii: in a second, the shorter of the two went even closer to the door.
"Are you having trouble, sir?" Her hand landed on it. "I possess an advanced smartphone"
"Done! The screen works!"
"Ah!" Hun smiled. "That means we can enter now… right?"
"Ha ha!" Bars was grinning, keeping his Roller on his shoulder. "Like, I could still smash this door, if he doesn't let us in!"
"Where is your brain, Bars?!" Greta grimaced and frowned at him, in the same moment. "Do you have any idea how much this door costs?!"
"Uuuuuhh… like, a lot?" He shrugged.
"Not even your weapon would make up for the damage cost we would eat!" The girl hissed.
The door opened away from the Inklings, revealing a smiling Sheldon.
"You can sleep surely!" His forefinger kept moving around. "No door is going to become a pile of wood junk… and the Mission Map Room is ready to go!"
Behind the dwarfish man, a metallic floor was holding a round-shaped wooden table, a monitor as tall as a library cupboard, wires coming from its back and a printer sitting on a small, shiny-grey drawer with 4 wheels.
Sheldon was already reaching the table.
"Look at that smooth screen!" His arms opened wide. "Not even a distorted line in sight!"
Even the Inklings began moving in the same direction.
"Wow…" Greta was looking around. "I wasn't expecting to see this floor clean-sick!"
"Actually, I liked the trashy style it had…" Bars grinned.
Mirii stretched her mouth on a side, exploring her thoughts.
"This room doesn't look… sophisticated." Her eyes closed. "Those shelves full of tools and weapons… what use they have in a Mission Map Room?"
"No use!" Sheldon spun 180°, making a military pose. "Because this room can also become a Storage one, when not used for the missions!"
Greta couldn't kept her laughter.
"What's up with that pose?!" She makes one as well. "Yes sir! Roger! We are ready, sir!"
Mirii glanced at her friend, preparing her fists…
"Don't turn this meeting into a buffoonish show…"
"I couldn't ignore that!" Greta was holding her mouth, with her cheeks resembling balloons. "Pfff, ha ha…! It's so funny!" She formed a tear.
Mirii's forehead was boiling already.
"If you are unable to keep a control on yourself… allow me to inflict you a small pain on your wrist." Her head rose. "That way, you"
"Nooooo!" Greta covered her wrist, with her eyes getting even more watery. "I-I will stop! I promise!" She thought of her hand, holding her smartphone.
…
"Very well." Mirii assumed a neutral position and expression, now showing her face over the humanoid horseshoe crab. "Sheldon, show us the Stingrays' location… before I start utilizing curative methods, for stopping those antics diseases…"
Sheldon makes a salute. He picked a remote, which pointed at the monitor: an unique-shaped land appeared on the screen, with a dark-blue Stingray symbol flashing on its top-middle edge, slightly on the left. Mirii made wide eyes.
"Not only that map doesn't show any terrain details, whatsoever… but it doesn't even report the location names?!" She got closer to the screen, frowning in the process. "Absolute rubbish! Who made this obsolete, foolish software?!"
"The HQ, as a leftover…" Greta is keeping her mouth from smiling. "This is a software made by an amateur, 5 years ago…"
"And YOU accepted it?!" Mirii rose her voice volume on purpose. "Grrrrr! Nnnnngggghh!" Her hands grasped her tentacles, with her face going darker.
"To be fair, I brought some slight setting changes… nothing too fancy, but it has a better graphic!" Sheldon clapped. "I don't have the same type of mastery, as I do with"
"When I will return, I'm going to replace this digital junk!" She took some silent, deep breaths… "I can't show myself using an ancient… obsolete… incompetent software for"
"The HQ is going to learn that." Greta shrugged with a smile. "This software is connected to their servers… any modification will be let known."
"Don't be ridiculous!" Mirii squeezed her eyes as much as possible. "It's a matter of fact that no matter how advanced are your defenses… there is always a"
"Mirii, drop the melodrama." Greta looked around. "I have the feeling that this room is filled with cameras and mics."
Mirii's mouth opened wide, before her hands closed it. Her irises were shyly looking on the corners…
"I checked the room carefully, Greta!" Sheldon and his forefinger shook. "No sign of secret cameras or anything! Even then, I still advise to keep a sense of stealth around this room…"
"Bah!" Mirii grimaces. "Let's not waste our time, then." Assuming her own neutral expression, she pointed her sight at the man. "Can you please print the map results? I will use my advanced navigator, to learn their location with more accuracy and precision."
"Sure!" He nodded, clasping his hands and bowing. "I would had been happy to explain a general strategy for tackling the enemies, if"
"That would not be necessary." Mirii's head rose. "With the team's overall experience and the supply of mostly unique weapons… those Stingrays would never anticipate our moves." She scouted each Inkling, with her sharp eyes. "For safety measures, though, we should still wear some kind of armor…"
"Armor is ready!" Greta smiled, while closing her eyes. "And that's really a whole wrap with all those preparations!"
"Like, that means we can now go kick some bass…?" Bars chuckled.
"It's time to bring justice over our community." Mirii's arms folded. "That is our mission."
"I agree!" Hun smiled, closing his eyes.
Mirii semi-copied his expression. Her mind began drifting away… making her see adult Inklings tied with ropes.
