... n-no, I didn't do anything bad...! I-I was just walking out of that lab... I disguised myself as one of them, just so they wouldn't find me out...! I know nothing about that whole kidnapping event. Nothing, I say! Wh-why would I let those demons kidnap the innocents?! You know that I always fought for the city's own safety! It just doesn't make
"Mirii?"
"What?!" Mirii's face went full frown.
Hun stood silent, simply showing his downturned mouth. The girl grew a surprised face, which mimicked Hun's right afterwards.
"I apologize, Hunley..." She looked away. "... I was thinking..."
"Thinking about what?" Hun's head tried to point her eyes.
"About the mission." Her hands were grabbing her knees. "All the possible traps and ambushes we might encounter..."
The two Inklings were sitting on the car's back seats. The vehicle was speeding through a lonely road, with some lit lamps pointing parts of the way and stars decorating the dark-blue sky.
"... Greta, let us know more about the Armor component." Mirii looked at the front-right passenger seat. "If we don't have any idea of"
"Eh eh eh!" Greta's voice was coming from the seat. "I don't play seaparrot with Squids... I'm making them play around, instead!"
Mirii growled, pressuring her forehead.
"Do I have to teach you the value of time?! Your unpredictable behavior is causing delays on my agenda, which forces me to sacrifice my free time for finishing my assigned tasks and get ready for the next ones."
"I did so well, giving you the manager role!" Greta snickered. "It truly shows your organized nature."
Mirii folded her arms, mumbling something.
"In any case, I demand an explanation." Her eyes closed. "No excuses, no puzzling phrases, no nonsense, no antics and no laziness!"
"You got quite the list, little girl!" Greta's head was sticking out from the seat's top location, changing directions occasionally. "But Mother Squidsmas only satisfies"
Bars bursted into a loud laughter, leaning his grip on the steering wheel.
"Like, do you wanna be called Mother Squidsmas by Mirii?!"
Mirii gasped, almost standing on her feet.
"DON'T YOU DARE MENTIONING THAT NONSENSE, EVER AGAIN!"
"Huh? What?" Hun opened his ears, concentrating, while looking at Mirii.
"N-nothing of importance!" Mirii was agitating her hands, sweating like mad. "Those two idiots are referring to an old joke! F-focus on the incoming mission, instead!"
"Heh!" Another snicker left Greta's mouth. "Didn't really wanted to make a mention of that ancient memory... but kudos for the creative connection!"
"You are welcome, girl!" Bars chuckled.
Mirii sunk on her backrest, folding her arms even more tightly.
"I'm sending the ultimatum... tell us more about that cursed Armor equipment or expect the most severe punishment I could ever"
"Take the one on the left, big boy." Greta put her hands behind her neck, closing her eyes.
Mirii kept her mouth opened.
"Got it, girl!" Bars was already looking over the grass, next to the road.
"… and why you decided to take another route?" Mirii leaned forward, pressing on her folded arms.
"You wanted an answer? You got it!" She hummed, slightly moving her head in rhythm.
"Are you referring to the Armor Equipment?" Mirii sighed, raising her eyebrows. "What I have to do, to make you two cooperate? I can't comprehend how your childish behavior is dictating situations of importance, like this!"
The car turned swiftly, accelerating on the slope.
"Sooo... are we going to see this armor?" Hun leaned forward too.
"Groan... not Hunry too..." Greta opened an eye. "Really, is it too hard to simply believe in my plans and have a laugh, whenever I say some funny junk?"
"I never believed any plans sealed in Squids' minds, before!" Mirii frowned at that. "On top of that, you are even wishing to see us acting like fools?!"
"I wish to see a chillin' atmosphere... that's all." Greta looked outside the window, seeing the stars. "It's not like I want to leave things half-bassed... in fact, I was thinking about reaching a lonely place and let you all know about the Armor, without having to explain like a boring prof."
"... if you had told me about this, I wouldn't had the need of expressing my complaints." Mirii lifted her posture, raising her head. "I don't understand the necessity of complicating your speeches, by choosing"
"Like, we arrived, girl!" Bars' foot was on the pedal.
The car slowed down, as it went on the grass: it stopped in front of a trapeze-shaped rock.
"Well, the Stingrays ain't waiting for us." Greta took off her safety belt. "Time for some quick demonstrations, Squids!"
She opened the car door, getting out of the vehicle first. Mirii and Hun did the same, each exiting from the closest door nearby. A clicking sound came from the trunk, as Bars opened the driver-situated door and leaned off: he smashed the door back.
Greta stomped the grass, growing a frown on her face.
"Good shot, with that car damage! Do you wanna a sledgehammer for finishing the job?!"
Bars chuckled.
"Liiiike… durable stuff are meant to last for centuries! If they crumble at smashes, then we don't really have a vehicle of quality… a piece of garbage who needed to be replaced anyway!"
Mirii's palm covered her eyes. Greta's face felt stretching to the sides.
"… Barsy, it was better if you kept your mouth shut. Actually, you should keep it sealed for the whole night, at this point."
"I would add to leave your antics behind, once and for all…" Retreating her hand back, Mirii turned over her friend. "… wouldn't you agree?"
"If by antics you mean our true selves… you can imagine the answer." Greta frowned.
Mirii frowned back, while snorting and walking towards the trunk.
"Unbelievable! Not even the facts are making her reconsider her own steps…!" Turning 180°, her hands landed on the yellow-colored car trunk.
"Mirii, let me give you a hand." Hun rushed to the girl.
Mirii blushed, while smiling.
"Thank you, Hunley." Her eyes closed. "But I can hold those Armor pieces with ease." Her hands pushed the trunk door upwards, opening it.
"You know… on second thought, we should wear the armor too." Greta stared at Bars, as a breeze caressed her tentacles.
"WHAT THE?!"
Greta moaned, almost stumbling.
"Ooooh, I'm getting really tired of hearing problems all the tiiiimmee…" Her hand covered her eyes. "Before you would say"
"There are no Armor pieces whatsoever!" Mirii bended more inside the trunk. "Only the Start Pad!"
…
"Oh…" Bars' face went paler, with sweat spreading around his face. "… ship."
