Tell Me How To Fix You

By: The Duchess of Arendelle

Chapter 23

AN: Okay yeah, so I may have had a romance movie marathon with my girlfriends to get in the mood to write this chapter. Was I tempted to write romantic clichés? Yes. Did I give in and add at least one or two romantic clichés to this chapter? Hell yes. Was I rooting for Jack to survive even though I've watched Titanic well over a hundred times and knew what the outcome was going to be? Fuck yes.

Oh, and you guys, get ready for…. THE FEEEELLLLLSSSS! No… It –it can't be…. Oh my God look! It's… it's… The Feels! Ahhhhh! I may have watched one or two old timey monster movies with my little brother too… Anyway, enjoy the chapter and sorry for any and all mistakes! Mistakes are what makes us awesome!

Bzzz bzzzz. Bzzz. Bzzzzzz.

The relentless buzzing of Anna's phone jolted the redhead from her dreamless sleep. She blindly reached for the device and snatched it off her side table. She looked at the blinking screen and saw a picture of her cousin's full head of blonde hair. She'd have to change that now. But more importantly, why the fuck was Rapunzel calling her at 7 in the morning on her day off? Anna slid the green answer icon and slowly sat up in bed.

"Punz, you better have one hell of an excuse for waking me up this early, on my day off mind you." was the first thing out of Anna's mouth when the phone finally connected. "Good morning to you too, feisty pants." Rapunzel responded with a laugh.

"Feisty pa- how do you know about that nickname?" Anna asked, yawning loudly as she stretched.

"Elsa told me. Some guy named Krispen gave it to you, right?"

"That blonde traitor... And his name is Kristoff. Seriously, why the early wakeup call?" the redhead asked, wrapping a blanket around her shoulders as she trudged out of bed. Wow, was summer really almost over? She could feel the coolness of autumn start to creep its way in. She'd have to start bringing extra blankets to Elsa's apartment, the blonde still had a thing about sharing stuff like that.

"What'cha up to today?" the brunette asked sweetly. Anna narrowed her eyes in suspicion, even though she knew her cousin couldn't see. "Why? What are you plotting?" she asked, voice dripping with suspiciousness. She knew her cousin. Something was off about the girl's voice. "Well I've never. So what, a cousin can't just call her favorite cousin and inquire about the plans for said cousin's day? For shame on you Anna. For shame." Rapunzel responded in a scolding tone.

"Really? Punz, I'm your only cousin." Anna retorted dryly, rolling her eyes. She turned on her coffee pot and leaned against the counter.

"Whatever. Just answer the question." The brunette said annoyed. She needed intel if she was going to hatch a scheme. She was so freaking tired of seeing her cousin and her new friend exchanging love sick glances and neither make a move. Anna sighed loudly.

"I'm doing the usual. Research. Hang out with Elsa. More research. Oh! I did get invited to a dinner tonight with Kristoff's family." Anna said, pouring the finished coffee and taking a sip. Rapunzel's ears perked at the info. Now this she could use.

"A diner tonight with your boyfriend's family huh?" Rapunzel teased. For the second time in less than 24 hours, Anna almost chocked to death. Why did people keep accusing her of having a significant other while she had shit in her mouth? As the redhead coughed her lungs out, she could hear her cousin on the other end laughing her brains out. "Very…funny…Punz…" she responded in between coughs. "You know...we're…just friends..."

"Yeah whatever." Rapunzel responded. Suddenly an idea popped up in her mind and she smiled wickedly. "Okay, well I have to go now. Oh yeah! Duh, I almost totally forgot. Elsa told me to tell you she wants you to swing by a little early today, in like two hours. She wants to tell you something. And she said something about not bothering to knock. Anyway, gotta go. Bye!" The brunette finished quickly as she hung up the phone and left a very confused Anna on the other end.

"Wait. What?"

****FROZEN*****

'This doesn't make sense, why couldn't Elsa just call and tell me to come herself? Rapunzel's up to something, I just know it.' Anna thought to herself as she stepped out of the elevator and approached Elsa's door. 'She said not to knock right?' Anna felt around for the spare key and retrieved it from the top of the door frame. Slowly, she opened the door. Stepping inside, she was about to call out the blonde's name but stopped when she heard voices.

"….When you hold each other's hands, do you feel a spark?" Wait. That was her cousin's voice. Who was she talking about? Did Elsa have a crush on someone? Anna felt her face redden with anger at the thought and silently moved closer for a better view. Her cousin's question was followed by silence from the blonde who was looking away from the screen. Rapunzel caught sight of the redhead and raised a slim finger to her lips in a 'silence' gesture. Anna looked at her with a confused frown but remained quiet.

"Sweetie, Anna's just as in love with you as you are with her. Accept it." She heard the brunette say. Anna's eyes widened dramatically and she almost screamed out 'What the fuck Punz!' but then realized what the girl had said. 'What does she mean …just as in love with you as you are with her.' That means… No it couldn't be that… Elsa loves… Anna couldn't even complete the thought. That was being too optimistic. She focused back in on the conversation when she heard Elsa heave a sigh.

"Rapunzel, even if that was true, what am I supposed to say, 'Hi Anna, hope your day was good, mine was fine. By the way, I'm deeply and madly in love with you. You make me want to get better so I can walk through the park with you while holding your hand or take you out to nice restaurants, or lean over and kiss you whenever we're watching a scary movie." Anna hung on to every word that came out of Elsa's mouth. The redhead was pretty sure her heart had literally stopped beating. She couldn't breathe. Elsa's words had brought tears to Anna's eyes. She heard her cousin tell Elsa, 'You just did.' The blonde slowly turned around and made eye contact with her. They both remained quiet and unmoving. She heard her cousin's voice in the background, urging them to say something. Anna gulped hard. There was only one thing Anna could say and she asked it with uncertainty.

"You love me?" the redhead gasped out. Elsa's eyes widened as she gaped at her. She was pale as a ghost. She didn't respond at first and just continued to stare, looking like a deer in headlights. Anna stepped forward and was about to ask again when Elsa suddenly snapped out of her trance and ran straight to her room. Anna stood there dumbfounded as she heard a door slam and the distinct sound of a lock clicking. 'Oh hell no. She is not going to drop some news like that and then shut me out.' Anna thought to herself.

"Why are you just standing there? Go get your girl!" Rapunzel said through the laptop's screen. Anna glared at the girl and Rapunzel shrunk under the stare. "We're going to have a serious discussion about this later." Anna said firmly as she walked over and slammed the laptop closed. She could hear Rapunzel's last words. "You're welcome!"

****FROZEN****

'Oh God. Oh. God. Oh. Sweet. Lord. What have I done? What did I just say? How long had Anna been standing there? She knows I'm in love with her now. What must she think of me? Damnit Elsa!' Elsa was frantic. A million thoughts were swirling through her mind as she leaned against her bedroom's door. 'Anna isn't going to want anything to do with me now. Why did I say that? Why couldn't I have just kept my stupid mouth closed?' Elsa berated herself. A soft knock pulled her from her treacherous thoughts. Anna's knock. Despite her inner turmoil, she found herself smiling slightly at the familiar noise. It quickly disappeared when she heard the redhead timidly call her name. "Elsa?" Elsa remained quiet. Anna suspected as much and pushed on.

"Elsa, please open the door." When she still got no answer and the door remained closed, Anna sighed and slid to the floor. A sense of De'ja vu came over her as she remember the first time this had happened. Anna closed her eyes to gather her thoughts. 'Okay Anna, you can do this. Just tell her how you feel.' Slowly, the redhead opened her eyes and breathed out. It was now or never.

"Elsa. I don't know if you're listening to me, but I have something I want to say." She began. Elsa brought her knees to her chest and remained silent. Of course she was listening. She would always listen to whatever Anna had to say. The girl on the other side of the door pressed on. "I… I think I've loved you, from the moment I saw you sitting on that window seat with the sun set glowing behind you. I couldn't believe something so beautiful could possibly be real." Anna paused when she heard Elsa gasp. She continued

"…I didn't know it was love at first. I convinced myself that it was nothing more than infatuation. I thought that maybe I just wanted you as a friend. And then came the day I found you with blood pouring from your hands and wrists. Oh God, Elsa I was so terrified. I looked at you and the glass scattered over the floor and it was almost too ironic. I was staring at two broken things. I didn't know it at the time, but I think a piece of my heart broke off that day… to make room for you in it." Anna paused again when she felt a tear run down her cheek at the memory. She laughed a bit and said, "I know. That sounds cheesy right?"

"Then came the time when you first let me touch you. Hug you. Hold you. And it was like, wow. I would think to myself, 'How did I get to be so lucky, as to get close enough to someone like her?' Elsa, you are so beautiful, and gorgeous, and just about every pretty word I can think of, but that's not the reason I fell in love with you. I feel in love with you, because there's something, so special inside of you. There's this bright light that's just begging to break through. I don't want you to get better for me Elsa, I want you to get better for yourself. God, I just wish you could see in you what I see." Anna sad sadly. It would break her heart every time she'd hear Elsa tear herself down. Elsa listened to every word Anna spoke. Tears were freely rolling down the blonde's face. She couldn't believe what the redhead was saying to her. Anna took a deep breath and spoke again, this time in a soft, quiet voice.

"Back in Arendelle… I was foolish enough to believe I could find true love in someone I had met at a stupid party and known for less than a day. But he was the cool and handsome jock, and I was the overly hyper, talkative, freak that rambled on about being a big time city journalist. Putting it very lightly, the relationship didn't end well…. He took something from me that I didn't want to give." Anna had to stop and choke back a sob. She hated thinking about that, but she needed Elsa to understand just how much she truly loved her. "I'm naive, and impulsive, and I still talk a lot, and I rush into things, and even now I trust people too easily, I know. But one thing I've never rushed back into was love. Being with you, spending time with you, has done just as much for me as it has for you. So trust me when I say, I love you Elsa Frost. I love you so, so, much. And if you truly love me too, then please, open the door." Anna finally allowed herself to break down and fully cry. She had said all she could say. Now she had to wait, the ball was in Elsa's court.

Elsa sat against the door sobbing. Never in a million years did she ever think Anna could feel that way about her. She couldn't tell if these were tears of sorrow for Anna's heartaches, or tears of joy from Anna's words. But there was one thing she knew for sure. She loved Anna with all of her heart. Now was not the time to hide. She had to be strong. To be brave. Elsa took in a deep breath and slowly stood on shaking legs. With a trembling hand she unlocked the door and reached for the glass knob, gently turning it. Anna looked up when she felt the door begin to open. She quickly scrambled to her feet when she saw Elsa standing in front of her, eyes red from crying. Anna knew she probably looked worst but she didn't care. The two stood there silently staring into each other's eyes. Slowly, a smile began to spread across Anna's face and Elsa reciprocated.

"So… you love me?" the redhead asked, reaching for Elsa's hands. Elsa's smile widened as she nodded her head.

"Yes, Anna Summers. I love you." she responded, linking her fingers with Anna's and moving closer to the girl. Their foreheads rested against each other's and they stood in the blonde's hallway, happy to just be in the other's embrace.

AN: AwWwW. Things were looking a little shaky at first and then. Tada! I hope the happiness lasts *insert evil laugh.* But really, no kiss yet. Still too soon for that. And. That sneaky clever awesome bitch. You seriously have to love Rapunzel. And I don't know if you guys know this, but you become like ten times more emotional when you're watching romance movies with your friends. We literally went through an entire box of my Frozen tissues, which sucks because they were supposed to just be for decoration. Anyway, Anna and Elsa both know how the other feels. Now what? How are they going to move forward now that they have this info. Plus, some of you may have guessed already, but Anna finally hinted at what happened to her in her past. But there's a lot more to that story as well. And I just realized like right now, a Frozen Titanic story with a Jack Anna and a Rose Elsa, oh or even better a Rose Anna and a Jack Elsa, would be so f'kin great. Somebody get on that will ya?

Hope you enjoyed the chapter!
