Tell Me How To Fix You
Chapter 24
By: The Duchess of Arendelle
A Kiss Worth Waiting For- Part 1
AN: As you can see from the subheading, the much anticipated kiss is coming soon. I know you all can't wait and I hope some of you don't think this is happening too fast, but I think it's about time for a first kiss. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter, hardly any Anna/Elsa interaction but I think you guys will still like it. Sorry for any mistakes. They're probably a few in there. Anyway, read on readers.
"What's wrong with you? You've been moping ever since I dropped by your apartment to pick you up." Kristoff asked the pouting redhead sitting beside him in the taxi. Anna's head was currently pressed against the taxi's window as she stared at the passing cars and buildings, sighing for the fourteenth time. Anna mumbled something under her breath and Kristoff furrowed his brow in confusion. "Umm… do you want to repeat that?" he asked the redhead. Anna removed her head from the window and slowly turned to face Kristoff. The blonde man was currently staring at her with a mixture of confusion and worry. Anna decided to tell him her problem.
"Okay, I have something to tell you… but don't freak out, okay?" she began nervously. Kristoff looked even more confused now, but he just nodded his head in a gesture that said continue. "Okay, well, you may not have noticed, but I've had a huge crush on Elsa for a while now-" Anna began but was cut off by a shocked Kristoff. "Wait, what? You have? On Elsa? Elsa Frost? Olaf's big sister Elsa? When did th-" Anna glared at him and he instantly stopped talking, mid-sentence. "I'm sorry, please continue." He said calmly. Anna nodded her head and did just that. "Anyway, I've had a crush on Elsa for a while, and it turns out she feels the same about me…" she trailed off. Kristoff stared at her. "Okay… and how is that bad?" he asked. Anna sighed. "I haven't gotten to the bad part yet. Gosh Kristoff, can I collect my thoughts for a moment?" she snapped, then instantly apologized. "I'm sorry. It's just, okay, so we've told each other our feelings. She loves me and I love her, but here's what happened…"
"Yes Anna Summers, I love you." Elsa said with a bright smile. Anna beamed back and leaned in to place a chaste kiss on Elsa's lips. Elsa's smile instantly faltered and the blonde quickly turned her head so Anna's lips meet her cheek instead. Anna pulled back and stared up at the blonde in confusion and hurt. "Elsa, I, what's going on?" Anna asked. Elsa's eyes evaded Anna's hurt gaze as she looked down at the polished floor. "It's- I- I can't kiss you like that." Elsa stuttered out in shame. Anna was even more hurt as tears began to gather in her eyes. "But why? Y-you just said you loved me. I-" Elsa quickly looked back up and saw the tears in Anna's eyes. She grabbed the redhead in a hug and crushed them close together. "Anna, I do love you. I do. So, so much. It's just, that's something I- I just can't handle doing that yet. I- I'm sorry. I promise you that one day soon we can. Just- just not now." The blonde said, tears gathering in her own eyes. Anna, still clutching Elsa in their embrace, nodded her head sadly in understanding. "Okay Elsa, I'll wait for you."
Now
"So… you can't kiss her yet. What's the big deal?" Kristoff asked. Anna stared at him in disbelief. "What's the big deal? Um, have you seen Elsa? She's gorgeous and I love her and now she's my girlfriend, and I don't know how your relationships usually go, but I for one would like to be able to kiss my girlfriend." Anna said with a pout and a folding of her arms. Kristoff rolled his eyes and sighed. "Look Anna, you know what you signed up for when you got involved with Elsa. You have to have patience. Not to mention Elsa's been through a lot with her OCD and anxiety. Did you think saying 'I love you' was just going to magically fix her? Besides, how do you know she's your girlfriend, did you guys ever establish that?" The blonde asked mater of factly. Anna's eyes widened in panic and realization. "Oh my God. I never asked her to officially be my girlfriend. I just assumed since she loves me and I love her that we were automatically dating. What if she doesn't see me as her girlfriend? What if-" Anna was getting louder and louder as she began to panic. Kristoff quickly smacked a hand over her mouth as he tried to calm her down. The taxi driver looked at them as if they were mad. Kristoff tried to give a reassuring smile to the man but he just rolled his eyes and looked back at the road.
"Anna, chill. I was just joking. Of course Elsa considers you her girlfriend. Just relax. Look we're here." Kristoff said, pointing to a large brick house. Grand Pabi lived just outside the city, in the countryside with fields and trees as far as you could see. No wonder it took them 4 hours to get there. "Okay, okay. You're right. When I get back, I'll just, I'll ask her officially." Anna tried to reassure herself. Kristoff nodded his head. "Yeah, ask her on a date or something." He said somewhat sarcastically as he paid the cab driver. He couldn't help but feel a little bitter towards Elsa. He was planning on asking Anna out himself tonight, if she could survive his crazy family, but those plans came to a halt when Anna dropped this news. The apology was hovering on his lips when he turned back to Anna, but died away when he saw the redhead smiling ear to ear. "Actually that's not a bad idea!" she said excitedly exiting the taxi. Kristoff followed after her and the taxi speed off, glad to be rid of them. "But I thought Elsa never left her apartment?" Kristoff asked bewildered. "She doesn't." Was Anna's elusive reply. Kristoff shrugged his shoulders at her response and stuck out his arm for her to take. Anna graciously took it and the two set off towards the large house. When they reached the door, Kristoff lifted his hand to knock but stopped short. He turned to Anna as he spoke seriously. "Now Anna, I don't want you to be afraid of some of the sight, sounds, or smells, you may come across in here." Anna looked amused. "Smells? Really?" the redhead laughed. Kristoff broke and smiled too. "Yeah, smells." He confirmed as he finally knocked on the door.
****FROZEN****
"If you were just going to give me the silent treatment, then why answer my video call at all?" Rapunzel whined as she tried to get the blonde to speak to her. Elsa huffed as she turned her face away from the screen. "That was a low move you know?" Elsa finally said. "But it worked." Rapunzel replied helpfully. "You and Anna know each other's feelings and you're dating now." The brunette continued. Elsa began to worry her bottom lip at Rapunzel's words. Was she and Anna dating? Did Anna think of her as her girlfriend? They never really established that. Anna didn't stay long after the rejected kiss, but the girl didn't seem mad at her. Rapunzel noticed the distressed look on Elsa's face and decided to inquire about it. "What's on your mind?" she asked. Elsa finally turned back towards the screen. "I'm not sure if Anna and I are an official item. Does she think of me as her girlfriend? I don't know…" Elsa trailed off unsurely. Rapunzel rolled her eyes in exasperation. "Of course Anna thinks of you as her girlfriend! She wouldn't admit her feelings to you just for kicks. I can tell she cares for you deeply. You make my cousin happy." Rapunzel told the blonde with a reassuring smile, then perked back up. "So, you know I'm not one for gossip, plus it's my cousin were talking about, but I have to know…how was it?" The former blonde asked excitedly. Elsa looked at the girl with a raised brow. "How was… what?" she asked in genuine confusion. Rapunzel rolled her eyes. "Don't play dumb Elsa! The kiss! How was your first kiss with Anna?" she asked with a laugh. "Were there fireworks?" she joked. Elsa stayed quiet and her face burned red. Rapunzel took this as a sign of scandal. "Ohhh. Was it that good? Or… oh no. Don't tell me." She stopped and looked around inconspicuously. "Did you guys go all the way?" she whispered out. "Because that's so not cool to do when you ju-" Rapunzel began to say but stopped when she noticed the tears in Elsa's eyes.
"Oh sweetie… what's the matter?" Rapunzel quickly asked. Elsa mumbled something and Rapunzel asked her to repeat it louder. "What was that hon? You have to speak up." she said, leaning closer to the screen. Elsa took in a deep breath and slowly let it out. "I said, we never kissed…" the blonde replied shamefully. Now it was Rapunzel turn to look confused. "What? But I thought- oh wait. Is it because of your… yeah." She stopped talking when Elsa gave her a look. They both remained quiet for a moment until Rapunzel finally spoke again. "You know Anna will wait until you're ready." The brunette tried to reassure. "But who knows how long that will be? How long until I get over these stupid fears? How long until she's tired of waiting and decides to leave me for a normal person?! Maybe. Maybe it's best if she just en-" Elsa snapped out and Rapunzel cut her off before she could finish that thought. "Don't you dare say it. Don't even think it. Anna would never do that and you know it! Besides, you are a normal person Elsa!" Rapunzel snapped back, trying to talk some sense into the girl. "You two have been dating for less than 24 hours and you're already having doubts? Elsa listen to me. Your relationship won't last a week if you continue to think like this. You can't jump to the worst case scenario all the time. Anna will wait for you, I know she will. You know how I know? Because she loves you. Truly and deeply. I've never seen her happier than when she's talking about you. But if you're so worried, then do something about it. Make a move, work it out, fix it. Because there is no use in crying over something that can be mended. Even if mending it means gluing and ductaping the pieces of your heart and soul back together. Do you remember what you told me not even 8 hours ago? You said you wanted to get better for Anna…" Rapunzel said and Elsa cut in on the brunette's outburst. "…And Anna told me to get better for myself…" she trailed off. Rapunzel smiled. "That does sound very Anna." Rapunzel joked then sighed. "I'm sorry for snapping like that. But I can't watch you or my cousin lose your happiness over petty insecurities. You should know by now that I like to dole out a little something I like to call tough love." The brunette smiled and Elsa returned it. "Y-you're right. This is something I need to get over. It's not like I don't want to… kiss Anna… it's just, I don't know how to go about doing it. When Anna leaned in to kiss me… my heart started pumping really fast, and my chest began to tighten and my head started to swim, and it almost felt like I was going to pass out…" Elsa explained, thinking she was telling the girl about her OCD induced anxiety attack. Rapunzel stared back at the blonde blankly then began to laugh uncontrollably. Elsa looked shocked and then slightly annoyed at the fact the brunette was laughing at her. "I fail to see what's so funny." She mumbled out. "I don't!" Rapunzel replied as she tried to reign in her laughter. When she finally calmed down, she looked back at the now sulking blonde. "Elsa, I may not be a love expert, but I'm pretty sure you just described how it feels to be in love with someone. Which is completely normal. Everyone gets those feelings, especially when they're about to get their smooch on for the first time with the person they most care about. I don't think that was an anxiety attack honey, I think you're just nervous to kiss Anna." Rapunzel explained. Elsa was shocked to hear that. She was pretty sure it was her OCD preventing her from kissing Anna. But now that she thought about it, the idea of kissing the redhead didn't disgust or repulse her at all, but it still made her chest tighten… in… anticipation? Rapunzel watched the realization cross Elsa's face with a smug smirk. She looked over at Pascal to see him sharing the same look. Just as the brunette began to open her mouth to say something, both her and Elsa was startled by a pounding at her door.
"Rapunzel! Flower? What are you doing in there? I told you no internet past 8. You better not be on that laptop again. If you are talking to a boy so help me…" Her step mother trailed off angrily. Rapunzel sighed miserably and rolled her eyes. "I have to go." She told the blonde. Elsa nodded her head in understanding. "Goodbye, I'll talk to you later." She told the pouting brunette. "Yeah, later. Oh, don't forget what we talked about okay?" Rapunzel said sternly. Elsa laughed. "Of course I won't. Now I think you better go before you get in trouble with your mommy." Elsa teased. Rapunzel's eyes widened and she had a scathing remark on the tip of her tongue. "You little-" Elsa quickly closed her laptop screen before the girl could finish. Oh yeah. She was definitely going to be paying for that later.
AN: So yeah, this is a 3 parter with it coming to a head in part 3. I want this whole kiss thing to be epic!
