Hey so this is my first fanfic so any constructive feedback would be great or

just how you think the story should (have) progress(ed).

The Wolf and the Blade

"Well done… Sekiro".

The kensei, Isshin Ashina crashed into the field of white after finally being defeated. Even in the face of death, the old Ashina patriarch seemed satisfied to have crossed blades with a warrior of such skill and conviction. To have the sword take him, instead of age or sickness, that is the best outcome for a legendary warrior like himself.

"Goodbye, Lord Isshin"

Wolf now stood alone among the grasses as a warrior with no more equals. Isshin, a man with enough skill and technique he could create a nation, had fallen to his hand. Never before in his life had he faced so skilled a foe and never would he again. The One-Armed-Wolf would forever remember this as his greatest battle.

Looking over his shoulder, Wolf saw the flames of war consume Ashina, the cold, beautiful land of towering frost covered mountains and deep sunken valleys. He would have given much for his home, but his life would always be for his lord. Even so, he would mourn the death of his lord's country. Lamenting would have to wait for Wolf had one final duty to commit before he too could rest.

"Wolf where are you"

Searching for the Divine Heir took only a moment before he raced to his side. Wounded by Genichiro minutes earlier, Wolf's master, lord Kuro lay beneath him. Wolf quickly kneeled down and propped up Kuro upon his arm to support him. Wolf spoke to his injured lord:

"I am at your side."

"Wolf… You once told me 'do what must be done.' I know what we must do. You must sever the ties of immortality so that no one else will be corrupted by it. Please, Wolf."

Kuro exclaimed, his will strengthened by the sight of the flames that were consuming his home as they spoke. Wolf retrieved the final component from his pouch to give to the Divine Heir.

"Take the Dragon Tears"

As the final ingredient was poured into his mouth, Kuro passed out believing he would never wake again. He was laid down onto the ground by his loyal shinobi. Wolf gazed upon his master's peaceful face, knowing it would be the last time he would see it. Reaching to his back, Wolf unsheathed the red Mortal Blade. A shinobi is to obey their master no matter the order, but what is a wolf with no pack, a shinobi with no master, a blade with no arm to swing it. So as the blood mist spread through the air, power pulsing through it under Wolf's gaze, the shinobi began to speak:

"I hereby condemn the last immortal"

Taking one last look at the landscape before him and the stark contrast of the peaceful sky and chaotic earth, he raised the blade between his neck and shoulder. A tear rolled down his stoic face as he spoke the wish he had for his lord and for himself, if he could have ever achieved such.

" May you live on and embrace what it means to be human"

The sword rose and fell and a lone tear splashed on the ground as sakura petals blew through the wind and into the sky. The loyal Wolf of the Divine Heir was no more. Kuro Ashina was immortal no longer.

The Mortal blade does not kill. It severs one's connection to the realm of mortals. Only the unnatural are able to be affected by it. By purifying the dragon's blood from the land, the shinobi ejected all of the immortals. Including himself.

Gazing at the all consuming void he found himself to be in,Wolf began to meditate and wondered what would come next. He knew Ashina would survive. Perhaps weakened but its people would endure, fight back, and stand tall once more, as would Kuro. What was his next step? No master to serve, no enemy to fight, even his oath was over, fulfilled to completion. To himself, he vowed to find what it means to be a human instead of a tool.

Coming out of his thoughts, he discovered he could feel the wind on his face and hear the rustle of trees. So Wolf opened his eyes only for them to be greeted by the sight of a shattered moon.

Alright so the next chapter should be out in like 3-4 days max but the next ones will probably take a fair bit longer and should be actually long with more story anyways so yeah.
