Greta jumped off Bars' arms, as she looked at the hole with a sad face.
"Like… are you alright…?" The boy rose his mouth.
The girl opened her arms.
"I-I couldn't imagine that I was THAT daring, as a child!" She swallowed, even lowering her head in the process. "Maybe if I was as short in height, as I was in the past… I would just grab the fence and admire the whole scenery without any fear!"
Greta shook her head.
"But that doesn't matter, at the end." She grins, pointing her forefinger at the rock in the distance. "What DOES is finally uncovering a mystery sealed in my childhood, for way too long…!" She chuckled, as she began jumping towards the rock. "After all those years, Greta Inkolina is finally going to explore the mystic caverns sitting below our feet!"
"Like, I think I gotta smash up that door you were mentioning…" Bars walked, while smiling.
"No smashin'!" Greta stopped, turning behind, frowning and resting her wrists on each of her side. "That door is part of my past, Barsy! How I could show it, if the door becomes a pile of rubbles?!"
"Ehm… like… you make a photo of it…?" Bars grinned, while closing his eyes, as a sweat drop appears on his head's right side.
"A photo wouldn't be the same thing…" The girl's eyes squeezed a bit. "… it wouldn't capture the original feeling I'm trying to show!" She turned behind, keeping her previous expression and posture. "Which is the feeling of adventure and mystery!"
"A photo would work just fine for me…" Bars shrugged, as he chuckled.
"Bah!" The girl resumed her walk. "Even your imagination about that door would have worked just fine…"
"Sooo true!" He grinned, walking right behind Greta.
A quick breeze passed near the two Inklings…
"Hmm…" Greta's irises went left and right. "… come to think of it… isn't the air strange?"
Bars inhaled the air, while emitting a sound.
"Hhmmmm…" He kept slamming his tongue on his mouth, while looking diagonally-upwards. "Like… it tastes like the usual…"
Greta's left hand went on her eyes…
"Where is Smart Barsy?!" Taking her hand off her eyes, Greta's eyebrows went horizontally. "I'm already missing him!"
"Oh!" Bars chuckled. "You meant to say that something's up?"
"More like something is missing!" Greta twisted her shoulders, while bending forward. "Where are all those Stinkrays?! If they are not around, this could be a darn problem…"
"Girl, like… we got near the rock." His head tilted upwards for a short while, before lowering it back.
"Yes, yes… but this situation is way too suspicious!" Greta frowned, stopping and stretching her arms down. "If the Stingrays aren't around, that might mean this rock is not connected to the secret entrance!"
"Hey, it doesn't hurt if you give it a try…!" Bars stretched his arms upwards, while growling with his mouth shut.
The girl walked near the rock, as the back of her right hand went on it. She smiled, rubbing the rock carefully. Her eyes were glued on it, as her feet were stepping around it. Sometimes she knocked on the rock, hearing back a "thump" sound.
She stopped in front of the boy, with her mouth downturned.
"… the rock… d-didn't had a door…!" Her mouth waved. "Bu-but… but"
"Girl! Have you seen?!" Bars bended his knees down, watching a small, round item attached to the rock. "Like, that resembles a handle…!"
Greta's eyes went large: she immediately jumped in front of the boy, grasping the "handle" with her free hand and pulling her arm, while her feet stepped on the rock.
CLANG!
The girl flew backwards, rolling for some feet, as a rock-made door completely opened up. Greta stopped with her back down and her shoulders lifted, as her head was looking at the hole on the rock. Her eyes were sparkling and her smile was growing like mad.
"YES!" She jumped up on her feet, rushing over the hole. "I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG!"
The boy was watching her jumping inside the hole.
"AAAAAAaaaaaaaaahhhh…" Her voice faded into obscurity.
"Whoa!" Bars immediately walked in front of the hole. "Girl! Are you alright?!"
Darkness was literally dominating the inside of the rock. Bars' hand scratched the top of his head.
"Ehm… girl?" He bended forward, diving inside the darkness. "Like, where are you?"
A shadow was reaching the boy…
"… do I have to come too?" He scratched his back.
Two hands pushed Bars inside the hole.
"Whhoooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
"Whooooaaaa!"
"Aaaaaaahhhh!"
PUMF!
Bars was sitting on a rocky surface: his head shook, as his weapon was standing some feet away from him.
"Phew…! What a ride!" He chuckled, slowly standing up. "Like, smooth idea putting a slide!" He walked towards the weapon. "Greta? Like, where are you girl?" His head turned around.
"Ha! Is the Baby Splattershot too cool to handle?! Come back here!"
The boy opened his mouth, as he bended down on his knees and grabbed his weapon with both hands. He turned towards a large door-like hole, showing the river in the distance.
SPLAT!
"YES! Greta 7, Stinkrays 0!"
Bars smiled, as he walked towards the hole. He brought his weapon on the shoulder, as his left wrist rubbed against his nose. He walked past the hole, stopping in front of it. He turned his head to the right, seeing the river stretching all the way to the right turn. His head turned then to the left…
Greta was waving her right hand, while grasping her weapon, as she was walking away from a dark-green ink spot resting on the floor. She was smiling and even whistling.
"So, how was that fast trip?" She grins.
"As smooth as milkshake, girl!" Bars nodded, as his left thumb rose. "I heard you sending away some punk…!"
"The 7th prankster I splatted, ever since I put my tentacles out of the car." Her hand laid on Bars' shoulder, before passing him. "And I want to increase this mere score even more!"
"You got my support, girl!" Bars laughed, turning and walking after Greta. "Let's go smash more Stingrays!"
