"ATTACK!"

Bars turned his shoulders, watching a rain of goo projectiles flying towards his face. Some of them landed on his head, as he yelped: squeezing his eyes, the boy began swinging his Mighty Roller, while working backwards.

Greta jumped on his side, shooting back at three male Stinglings who were each wielding a Splattershot-like weapon.

WUSH!

A huge wave of dark-green ink flew from Bars' weapon, going over the Stingray group, which began screaming at the top of their lungs.

SPLAT!

Three small Stingrays flew away. Bars turned his head over the hole, catching a Stingling woman who was almost hidden by the rocky walls.

"Where did you came from?!" Greta rushed after her. "We were waiting for you, before!"

The woman retreated, hiding in the shadows: the girl stopped, as she began shooting at the floor.

"Barsy! Swing the weapon inside this room!" She grinned. "I'm keeping her inside, so she cannot escape your wrath!"

Bars laughed.

"Huuuuge shower, inkomin'!" Grinning, he walked while lifting his weapon…

A Splat Bomb landed right near the girl's feet: her eyes grew, jumping to the right as soon as possible.

BOOM!

Goo spread all around the room entrance. Shot sounds were echoing from the room. Bars stopped right in front of the goo, grinning even more.

"Get flattened, girl!" He swung his Roller weapon.

SPLAT!

He bended forward, turning his sight over each part of the darkness.

"… like, I think I got her"

"Yaaaayyy!" Greta jumped on the boy, hugging him. "Nice shot, Barsy!" She blushed.

"Eh eh eh!" Bars blushed too. "Like, you are welcome!" His eyes closed, while simply smiling.

Jumping off him, the girl took a few steps towards the river and looks around her surroundings: the water was scrolling freely, as faraway sounds were decorating the air.

"… this place is so awesome from a close-up look, eh?" Her face pointed at Bars.

"Like, it's not too bad…" He began looking around too, lowering his eyelids. "… we gotta go to the right, girl?"

"Yes, yes." Greta passed him, while walking over a distant corner. "That's the only way we can go, anyway!" Her eye closed, while smiling and lifting her forefinger. "Although, we should come back in here and have a picnic, together with the two lovesquids!"

Bars laughed, following Greta and raising his mouth.

"Also…" Greta lowered her head, closing her eyes. "… how come there is a slide connected to this place? Doesn't that make things in here even more suspicious?"

"Nah…" Bars shrugged. "Like, Squids can do whatever they want…"

"Sigh!" The girl giggled, shaking her head. "What's the point of talking to you about this curious stuff? It would be easier to talk with a wall!"

She stopped on her feet, watching something colored in dark-green coming in their way. Her eyes blinked two times. The boy stops on her right side, raising an eyebrow.

"… are you seeing what I am seeing?!" Her head twisted over Bars.

"Uhm… isn't that Hunter, over there?" His irises were following the Squid.

"Duh?!" The girl frowned. "Don't you see he is leaving a trail of ink behind?!"

"Ah… right!" Bars chuckled, while nodding.

The Squid stopped, looking carefully at the two Inklings. Greta took a few steps, with a sad expression on her face.

"Hunry, what are you doing here?!" Her arms opened. "I thought Mirii brought you back home!"

The Squid had fangs coming from below his small tentacles, while his head edges and tentacles had pointy tips. Greta frowned slightly.

"Your shape looks… funky." Her left hand pushed her tentacle back. "Are you even Hunry?"

The Squid growled…

There he be!

Yo-ho-ho! He`s done fer!

"Ah!" Greta opened her mouth, expanding her eyes!

The Squid turned behind, growling even more!

Bars was just staring at a group of male Stinglings, wielding each a goo-covered sword on one hand and a small gun on the other…

"… Barsy." Greta frowned, cocking her weapon. "It's time to make 'em hit the gangplank!"

"Actually, girl…" He slammed his weapon on the ground. "… I want to test out the raw power of the Roller!" He grinned, as he rushed forward and rolling his weapon.

"Don't be stupid!" Greta frowned, trying to pick up his shirt! "They are going to shoot you down!"

The Squid dashed while sliding, aiming at the group of Stingling pirates.

"Aaarrrrr! Ya scallywag!" The Stingling man on the front aimed his gun at the incoming Squid.

PUM!

PUM!

The Squid jumped sideways, moving away from each shot. He roared, as he jumped once more: this time, he was spinning on himself and moving towards the man.

SWISH!

The Stingling swung his sword over the Squid, making him bounce backwards and passing Bars from the side. The boy was chuckling, while still rolling his weapon on the floor.

"SHOOT AT TH' BIG GUY!" With his eyes large, the man was shooting over Bars non-stop!

PUM! PUM! PUM!

PUM! PUM! PUM!

Shots were landing on Bars, as he was yelping a bit.

"ABANDON FIELD!" The Stingling man turned behind, almost tripping while sprinting through the horde of Stinglings. "ABANDON FIIIEEEELLLD!"

The Roller was coming closer and closer, looming over the first three Stinglings which were tur-

SPLAT!

Screams were leaving the rest of the runaway Stingling pirates, as some of them tripped on their steps. The boy was laughing loudly, while grinning and lowering his eyebrows: the Roller was flattening down the fallen pirates and even catching up with some of them!

"Wow… that guy is a tank!" Greta smiled widely, as her eyes grew and her feet began dashing over Bars. "GO GET THEM, BIG BOY!" She rose her right fist.

A few Stinglings were outrunning the Roller: Bars was panting, sticking his tongue out, while sweat was covering his face. His feet were moving slower and slower, until he stopped and began catching loud breaths and bending forward. The Squid passed near him, sliding towards the small group of foes.

"Uuuufff… like… uff…" He coughed, while squeezing his eyes. "Man… I ran too much…"

"Step it up, Barsy!" Greta slid before stopping near him. "Come on, they are getting away!" Her forefinger pointed at the distant Squid.

"Wait!" Bars sealed his mouth. "I need… uff… a nap…"

Greta bit her lips, watching the Squid disappearing behind a wall.

"… you know…" She frowned. "That guy… was he really Hunry?" Her arms folded. "He looked way too weird with those fangs…"

Bars lifted his posture, swallowing silently.

"Girl… like… did you liked how I flattened down those Stinkrays?!" He grins widely. "Totally cool!"

"I will give you the comments, once we are back inside our villa!" She turned over the boy, with her wrists on her sides. "Right now, there is a change of plans!"

"Huh?" His mouth opened.

"You heard that one right, dummy!" Greta nodded. "We have to kick those Stinkrays out… AND stop that Squid, so we can identify him once and for all!"

Her eyes squeezed a bit.

"Actually… there is one more thing we should do…"

Bars yawned loudly.

"No, no!" Greta's left hand took the boy's shoulder and shook him twice. "Don't fall asleep on me!" She growled. "I can't take them off all by myself, without your help!"

"Like… I'm awake… I swear…" His eyelids lowered to the middle.

"As I was saying, there is one more thing we should do!" She turned behind, watching the dark-green ink trail below her feet. "You said that Mirii and Hunry went away with the car, right?!"

Bars nodded…

"Then, if it's true that the Squid in question is Hunry… that means Mirii must be nearby as well!" Her head pointed at her feet. "So, we have to find out what the shell happened before!"

"Can I close my eyes for 5 minutes…?" His eyes kept on blinking.

They expanded, once they tracked down Greta's frowning expression.

"I-I was kidding, girl!" Sweat jumped out from his head, while grinning widely.

"And you have the courage of joking in such times?!" Her forefinger pointed at the ink trail below. "I want to see you rushing in this ink!"

"Yes, ma'am!" Bars makes a salute, diving immediately inside the ink as a Squid.

Waves were forming on the ink, as they were moving forward… Greta sighed, turning into a Squid and entering inside the ink, going after her friend in a similar speed.
