Tell Me How To Fix You
Chapter 27
By: The Duchess of Arendelle
AN: Sorry for the wait guys! This chapter isn't that long because next chapter picks up directly where this one leaves off. Reason? Well, I wanted to add more to this chapter, but I don't have the time and I really wanted to update. I need an update schedule for this so hows about every other Friday? I can't say every Friday because I don't have time to write every week. So this way you guys know for sure when the next update is coming. That cool? Ok. So, I don't think it will take that long to write this next chapter since I already got it worked out. Perhaps even this Saturday. Don't quote me on It though! Anyway. Sorry for all the mistakes! I truly am. If I could write better, would.
A surprise and slight angst ahead! Enjoy!
"Elsa, please calm down. You're going to do fine sweetie. Great even. We've been practicing for this day for a while now. You got this snowflake. Now please, open the door?" Anna sat in an all too familiar position, on the floor, outside of Elsa's bedroom, begging the blonde to come out. She sighed to herself. Anna knew this wasn't going to be easy, even if Elsa had made up her mind to go through with it. A week had passed since her first official date with the blonde and Elsa's moment of reckoning had finally come. Today was the day she was going to take back control of her company and hold a video conference with her top executives and advisors to discuss the future of Frost Industries, and how she was going to start taking a bigger part in it. The conference was scheduled to start in 20 minutes and everything had been set up in a large spare room turned professional office. The only thing missing now was the blonde CEO. "Anna, I- I can't do this. I don't know what I was thinking, but I just- I can't…" She trailed off fearfully. Anna could hear the blonde pacing back and forth. "Elsa-" the redhead's sentence was cut short when she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. 'Jesus, what now?' she said to herself as she answered the phone without looking at the screen. "What is it?" she asked harshly. "Um, hi to you too feisty pants." The voice on the other end replied in an offended tone. Anna sighed and tried to calm herself down. This whole thing with Elsa, and Frost Industries, and her investigation into the Southern Isle, was taking a toll on her. Don't get her wrong, things have been great between her and Elsa since their date and kiss, more than great. Fantastic. It's just, she wish she could do something to help ease the blonde's anxieties. Anna closed her eyes and spoke with an apologetic tone into the phone.
"Hi Punz. Sorry about that. It's just… a lot is going on right now. Elsa is totally freaking out and having second thoughts, and the big conference starts in…" she checked her watch and sighed in frustration. "15 minutes, and Elsa absolutely will not come out of her room." Anna said the last part loud enough for the blonde to hear through the door. Elsa didn't respond, she just continued to pace. "God, I wish you were here to help me, maybe you could use some of that tough love on her." Anna said jokingly. Rapunzel hmmed and spoke slyly into the phone. "Hey Anna, remember a few months ago when I told you I was visiting?" she asked. Anna furrowed her brow in confusion. "Uh, yeah…" she trailed off, wondering where the brunette was going with this. She jumped a bit when she heard a knock come from Elsa's front door. Not just a knock, her special 'Anna knock'. Anna scrambled quickly to her feet and rushed to the door. Throwing it open she squealed in excitement as she saw a shorter brunette standing there excitedly with her cell to her ear and luggage sitting next to her.
"Punz! What are you doing here? Why didn't you tell me you were coming today?! How do you know where Elsa lives?" Anna asked a million questions a minute as she dragged the laughing brunette into the apartment. "I wanted you guys to be surprised! Today's Elsa's big day, did you really think I was going to miss it? Besides, it was my idea in the first place. And you're kidding me right? She lives in your building and oh yeah, owns an entire floor to herself! It wasn't too hard to find." She responded. The young brunette began to look around. She let out a long whistle as she inspected the house. "Wow. Video doesn't do this place justice." Every part of the apartment was clean. Not a pillow out of place, not a dish unwashed, not a speck of dirt to be found. Rapunzel walked into the kitchen and ran a finger along the counter, bringing it up to her face. It was absolutely spotless. She turned to Anna with an amused grin. "I think she has a thing about dirt." She said obviously. Anna laughed. "You think?" The redhead was immediately brought back to the problem at hand when she glanced at her watch. "Shit, shit, shit! The conference! It starts in 5 minutes! Rapunzel, you gotta help me get her out of that room and go through with the conference. She needs to do this for herself, and her company." Anna explained. Rapunzel nodded her head and rolled up the sleeves of her pink and white Nike hoodie. "Show me the way." She said in determination.
******************FROZEN**********************
Elsa could have sworn she heard a knock at the front door, but that was impossible. The only person who visited her was Anna, and the girl was already here. For how long, she wasn't sure. She figured today would be the day Anna gave up on her. Life had been bliss for the blonde since her date with Anna. They spent all day and all night together, barely separating. The redhead basically lived with her now, she even stayed over some nights. Things had been so amazing. Until today. Elsa could tell Anna was getting frustrated with the situation.
*Earlier*
Elsa had gotten up and did her normal routine of cleaning the house, though she did clean harder than usual. Then after her third shower of the day, Anna had forced the blonde to stop. Elsa had been scrubbing her skin extra hard and Anna could tell by the bright red marks. She then excitedly informed the blonde it was almost time for her conference and suggested she get ready. Elsa had forced a small smile on her face and agreed. She went into her bedroom, locking the door behind her, and walked into her closet. She put on the white blouse, black jacket and short black pencil skirt. She walked out the closet and went over to her vanity. Sitting down, she put her hair up in a quick, professional bun. Next she moved on to her makeup, slowly applying a small amount of blush and eye shadow. She began to put on the mascara but stopped when she notice a small black smudge on her finger. She stared at the spot and then up at her reflection in the mirror. She noticed how much she looked like her mother right now. Tears welled in her eyes as she remembered shyly watching her mother get ready for different affairs. She would watch silently from the doorway as her mother applied mascara to her already long lashes. She would always spot young Elsa out the corner of her eye and motion her over with a smile. Elsa would shyly shuffle over and her mother would place her on the vanity's seat, picking up Elsa's brush, the little blonde would never use anyone else's, and the older woman would begin to gently brush Elsa's long hair out of her face.
"You are so beautiful Elsa. You're going to make someone very happy one day darling. You are perfect just the way you are, and your father and I are so proud of you."She would always say. Elsa would stare at her mother in the mirror in confusion and speak quietly. "But papa says I'm sick up here and I need to get better if I'm going to take over the company one day." She would whisper. Her mother would frown and bend down to stare at Elsa in the eye. "Listen to me Elsa. You're father loves you. We both do honey. He's just… he's worried about you. Ever since Olaf's… He wants you to get better so you can be happy dear. Don't you want to be like the other kids?" Elsa knew her parents were trying to help her and be supportive, but she didn't think she needed to be fixed. But she also knew she wasn't normal. "Yes mama." She would reply. Maria Frost would smile sadly down at her and attempt to hug the young girl. Elsa would always flinch away and silently leave the room. "I love you sweetheart." She heard her mother whisper.
Knock Knock Knock
"Elsa, are you ready?" Anna's cheerful voice snapped Elsa out of her memory. She looked to the door then back at her reflection. No. No she was not ready. She was a joke. A disappointment. What would her parents think of her now? She was not worthy enough to take control of the company her father built and established from the ground up. She looked away from her reflection in shame. I can't do this. Elsa rose from her vanity and walked over to the door. "Anna, I can't do this…"
