… why you brought me here?

That's because you must know your enemies, before you face them in a duel.

I don't need to know them! They are just like all those other weaklings: they use limited weapons and have a limited knowledge on the art of fighting.

You know that it's not completely true.

… that boy… he's the only threat I cannot underestimate.

None of those kids can be underestimate. I have heard a lot about their progress… and now, they are reaching to a point where our whole plan is at risk. They are after our bases… some of them even fell down, because of their intromission.

Shouldn't we attack them now, before they form their own base?

I have already prepared a trap for them… but I'm afraid that will not be enough. No matter the tricks and strategies I created in the past, they managed to find that one little inconvenience I couldn't possibly predict. That's why I'm counting on you… your expertise in fighting might be enough to stop their meddling proceedings, once and for all.

I still don't see the point of studying their fighting behavior… they all look too simple and limited, compared to what I had to go through in the past.

Their simplicity don't match their inner strength… especially the one coming from that little girl.

Who?

You don't know her?

… you mean the boy's little sister?

No. The shortest girl of the group is also the most dangerous. … to be frank… she's the one you must defeat first.

Not the boy?! You can't be serious!

He's also dangerous, true… but his naivety is the only weakness who pulls him back, from being a threat to us all. That girl, on the other hand…

She doesn't have any particular powers, right?

No, she doesn't…

Then, why she is the most dangerous?

… because she's the most foolish of them all.

"… nnnnggh…"

Mirii's hands were rubbing against her right tentacle, while grasping a refreshing napkin. She took off the paper, lifting it in front of her eyes and staring at the light-brown dirt on it. She aimed back at her right tentacle, noticing some dirt on the middle.

"… nnnnnnggggghhhh!" Her eyes squeezed, as her fists clenched.

Her feet were pressing against the car floor, same for her bottom.

"So, have you gotten rid of the dirt…?" Greta's voice was coming from the right.

"Were you expecting me to get rid of all this filthiness with just a mere napkin?!" Mirii turned in the direction of her voice, while looking madly at her friend. "I need to take a shower as soon as possible!"

"Then, why are you trying so much with that napkin?" Greta shrugged, lowering her eyelids to middle and looking back at Mirii.

"… b-because at least, I-I'm not completely unpresentable!" Her left hand opened. "Give me another napkin, so I can finish"

"We are almost back home, Mirii… relax!" Greta sighed.

"No, no!" Mirii's head rose, as her eyes closed and her face frowned even more. "I-I need one more napkin… I-I must do one more swipe…!"

"Girl, like being dirty isn't that big of a deal!" Bars chuckled, sitting on the front-right passenger seat. "I know girls who don't even care about getting their tentacles dirt… like Greta!"

…

"Eeeeehhhmmm…" A sweat drop appears on Greta's head. "… to be fair, I would feel uncomfortable too if I'm drenching in dirtiness…"

"Hmpf!" Mirii kept her head up, while folding her arms. "I would like to hear those girls you are mentioning, Bars…" Her eyes closed. "… or even any other Squid who can stand filthiness, aside from you."

Greta frowned, looking back at Mirii.

"Barsy doesn't like to be dirty neither!" She showed her teeth. "In fact, I'm helping him improving his own looks… hygiene included!"

"Bah." Mirii's head shook. "I'm sceptic at him being capable of learning such vital lessons…" Her eyes closed. "… although, I do see a slight improvement over his appearance…"

Greta opened her mouth. Bars rose his thumb, while turning over the girl.

"Thanks for that, girl!" He grinned.

"That wasn't a compliment!" Opening back her eyes, Mirii frowned at him. "I just pointed out the minuscule advantage you currently possess! If I wanted to compliment you, then I would had said so!"

"Yeah, exactly!" Greta nodded twice, before landing on the backrest and folding her arms. "Shorty would never compliment you, any"

Mirii grabbed her shirt, pulling the girl towards her eyes.

"Mirii! I-I said Mirii!" Sweat covered Greta's face. "C-come on, snap out of it!"

Mirii's eyes squeezed.

"… I notice your incapability of keeping your consistency with your various name-calling…" Her head rose. "I can help you correct your uncontrollable behavior and to not fall into the same mistakes over and over…"

"… M-Mr. Shollen helps me out with that!" She grins, turning her head over the horseshoe crab. "R-right?!"

"Miss Greta, I'm still baffled at how you keep acting in such childish manner…" His eyes completely glued on the road ahead, as his hands were turning the steering wheel firmly. "I keep seeing you smile, whenever you walk around with delicacy and control… and when you talk in the same way, I can hear the sublime melody of your carefully-chosen words."

He sniffed a bit.

"I have never seen such finesse on a girl, before… never." His head shook.

Greta's eyelids lowered to the middle.

"… is there a moment where you do not mention that?"

"No!" His fist hit the steering wheel, as a stream of tears fell from his eyes. "I can't accept that! I will never accept this path you are choosing to cross!"

"Groan…" Greta's eyes rolled. "Let's talk about something else, before Mr. Shollen gets his talking habit back!"

"I was called upon… I couldn't disobey you, Miss Greta." His mouth rose, lowering his eyelids to the middle.

"Whatever!" Greta snorted. "So, who got some different stuff to talk about?!" Her head turned left and right, once.

"… I do have something to talk about." Mirii's head rose. "Pay attention to my words, this time."

"Yeah, yeah, sure…" Greta nodded widely, closing her eyes for a moment. "… what ya got?"

"I heard there is a curious activity known as 'Happy Squid Land', situated on this island…" Mirii's hand went on her right tentacle, caressing it. "I intend visiting the area and have a basic idea of the whole place."

…

Several sweat drops appear on the back of Greta's head.

"Mirii… that place isn't really something for… … for logical Squids like you." She sighed. "Your mind is really going to blow, once you see the 'activities' they do in there… blowing in the rage sense, mind you."

"Hmpf! Your mind is limited, Greta." Mirii grimaced, shaking her head multiple times. "I do not let my emotions manipulate my mental status… if they are illogical, then I would just point such obvious fact down and move on."

"Like, why do you wanna go there, girl?" Bars' voice came from behind the front-right seat. "Why not the Arcades or somethin'?"

"That's because I'm a learner, unlike you!" She bended forward, while frowning. "Since I'm now living on this island, I might as well assimilate all its culture… whenever is possible, of course."

"So, that means you are going to the Arcades too…?" Bars grins, turning his shoulders over the girl.

"That would be one of the limits!" A vein popped out from her forehead. "Including any ridiculous fast food restaurants and"

"We get the idea! Sheesh!" Greta's hands went on her cheeks, as her elbows landed each on one of her legs. "If you really want to get there this badly… you are going to do it on your own."

"All alone?!" Mirii frowned, showing her teeth at her friend. "How you could"

"I'm not saying that because of my bias towards that… thing." Greta's eyes closed. "Today I got some acting business to attend. Essential business too, since it's crucial for the upcoming show."

"Miss Greta is right." Shollen nodded. "She must come in the studios within 11:45 AM…"

"And we have to stay there for at least 7 hours… ooooh joy." Greta's irises rolled. "I would rather hunt down Stingrays for 7 hours…"

"'We'?" Mirii's eyes squeezed a bit.

"Barsy comes with me too." Greta smiled a bit. "At least I have some company…" She blushed a bit.

"How come I'm not called upon? Nor Hunley?" Mirii's eyes went on the car window, staring at the sea in the distance.

"You are a manager, Mirii… you aren't called up, yet!" Greta shrugged. "As for Hunry… he was supposed to come too."

Mirii expanded her eyes, turning back over Greta.

"But he doesn't feel too good… as we all know." Greta's elbow hit Mirii's side.

Mirii growled, while keeping her mouth sealed.

"But hey, if he feels any better… then, he can still come!" Greta stared at Mr. Shollen. "Our butler is going to pick him up and carry him to the studios, if such case happens."

"My car is always ready to serve you, Miss." Shollen bowed a bit.

Greta smiled widely.

"Gotta love your efficiency!" She grins a bit. "Anyway! As you can see… we got some turf to cover!" She opened her arms wide.

"… bah." Mirii folded her arms. "I have no choice, but to drive over the destination on my own."

"We got no cars left, Miss Perfection…" Greta downturned her mouth. "Someone stole that spare car, while we were chasing after the Stingrays… the police is still looking for that vehicle, though."

A sweat drop appears on Mirii's head.

"Nnnnnnnnggghh!" Her hands grabbed one of her tentacles each. "G-give me this car…"

"Access denied, Miss Kelpshell." The man snorted. "As I said before, this car is ready to serve Miss Greta… and it must be drove by me." His hands turned the steering wheel. "I refuse to waste my time, just to satisfy a small curiosity of yours…"

"Curses!" Mirii's irises shrunk, as she gritted her teeth. "Cuuuuurrrssseeesss!" Her feet pressed on the car floor. "I can't even reveal the true reason why I want to go there in the first place!"

"Guess you are going to do something even more difficult than visiting a new place… relax and enjoy the villa with Hunry." Greta chuckled.

Bars laughed too. Mirii blushed a lot.

"Grrrrrrr, rrrrrrrrrhhh!" Smoke came out from Mirii's ears. "No matter how attempting it is to remain inside the villa… I must get inside that ridiculous place!" She breathed loudly. "There must be another way to reach it as soon as possible, without drawing any attention by those fools!"

She frowned.

"… I must think about this carefully…" Her eyes closed for a moment. "… only with such way, I will be able to find the true solution for this predicament…"
