Donnie could hardly count how long they've been at this, this... what the turtle could only describe as purgatory. Whatever it was that hit their world in a blast, it had destroyed everything they known. The turtles are forced to navigate a broken world, making difficult and painful decisions just for survival. But whatever they faced, at least they were mostly together.

Michelangelo wishes, he wasn’t the youngest, and his wish came true when Donatello is de-aged into a little kid. The turtles spend some time with the tot and grow closer as a family, while trying to find a way to get Donnie back to normal.

This is somewhat of an AU, somewhat of a rewriting after the episode Mutation Station. There will be Karai x Leo moments, many Donnie x April moments AND a few Original Characters to really fill out this world. This is a 2012 TMNT fanfic. Following the invasion, the gang couldn’t get out of New York. They ended up finding refuge, keeping a low profile and hiding in the city. Leo’s just woken up from his 3 month coma and Mikey thinks the last few weeks have been tense as hell, despite that good news. So, they all get some air. And then a liquor store caves in on Leo and Mikey. Go figure.

Even in death there was no peace. And for one brother his mind was trapped with the impossible connection to another from the land beyond.
