Tell Me How To Fix You
Chapter 44
By: The Duchess of Arendelle
AN: Sorry for any and all mistakes, I was trying to hurry up and finish this chapter. Enjoy!
"Okay Anna, listen up. It's 1:42 so we don't have much time to talk." Flynn spoke to the redhead sitting beside him in the back of his cramped van. Anna shoved bottles, cans, and other mystery items out of her way as she huffed.
"Oh God Eugene, do you live in here or something?" she asked, moving a moldy pizza box from in front of her. This was disgusting.
"On occasion when rent's due and I don't have the money; yes. But we're getting off topic. Here. Hurry up and put these glasses on and put this in your ear." He handed her a pair of dark framed glasses with a camera embedded in the side of said frames. He also handed her the earpiece from the night before. Anna quickly put the glasses on her face and the earpiece in her ear. She winced when she heard loud static.
"Sorry, forgot we were sitting so close. Let me change channels." Flynn apologized as he tinkered with the receiver.
"Better?"
"Much." Anna answered when the noise stopped, gently touching her ear.
"Good. Okay so one more time. Repeat the plan." he commanded sternly. Anna groaned.
"Really? We talked about it last night. We talked about it this morning. We talked about it on our way over here. I don't think we need to-" Eugene cut Anna off with a single raised hand.
"Repeat. The. Plan." Was his simple yet firm response. Anna groaned then took in a deep breath.
"First I…"

"Miss Frost, right on time. That's a very good start. And you look beautiful." Fiske spoke, standing up from their table. He grabbed Anna's hand and kissed it in greeting. The redhead shivered in disgust internally. She hated having to even look at this asswipe, let alone touch him. Smiling brightly, she thanked him.
"Thank you sir. I always make an effort. Especially when I want to make a good impression." She spoke politely and with confidence. By the time this meeting was over, she was sure she was going to deserve a best actress Oscar nomination for outstanding performance while pretending to like old bastards.
Fiske smiled, and damnit, how could she not tell it was the same sharked toothed grin his son used to throw her way.
"Trust me Anna, you've already made a good impression with me. This is mainly formality. Please, have a seat. We're just waiting on Hans now. He went to freshen up in the restroom. He said he wanted to look his best for you. I believe he may have taken somewhat of a fancy on you." Fiske laughed hardily.
Anna forced out a laugh all the while trying not to roll her eyes.
"Say something back." She heard a voice crackle in her ear.
"Well… uh… that's… wow. You think? That's very flattering." Anna gritted out through her painted on smile.
"Oh most definitely dear. But don't tell him I told you." He whispered with a wink. Anna laughed nervously and agreed. She didn't bother mentioning she was already in a relationship.
"Ah, Hans, there you are. Now this little luncheon can began." Fiske proclaimed, picking up his menu as Hans took a seat beside Anna.
"Oh Anna, you're already here! I'm sorry I wasn't present to greet you, I was just freshening up a bit. Are those new glasses?" he asked, buttoning his suit jacket as he took a seat beside the redhead.
His voice. Just his fucking voice made Anna want to draw back and punch him as hard as she could in his stupid fucking face. But she didn't. Instead she turned her megawatt smile on him and giggled a bit.
"Yes they are actually! I couldn't find my contacts this morning so I threw on my glasses. And it's totally fine Hans. Mr. Fiske over here has been a perfect gentleman in your stead." She joked. Both Hans and Fiske laughed loudly in their quiet private section of the expensive restaurant.
Anna glanced at her menu and her mouth almost hit the floor. Everything was in French… except the prices. Who would pay $500 for a foie gras pate on a freaking cracker? And she couldn't even believe the prices of the steaks. Oh well, if she wasn't paying for it…
"Excuse me, but are the sirs and madame ready to order?" Came the posh British accent of their waiter. Anna was about to answer for herself when Fiske spoke up.
"Yes. I'll have the Magret de Canard, Hans here will have the Gigot D' agneau, and Miss Summers will have the Bagatelle salad. Oh and bring a bottle of Château Pétrus red Bordeaux for the table." He finished proudly and handed his menu over to the waiter. The man took the other two menus and bowed as he threw a 'Right away sir.' and took his leave. Fiske looked back at the two with a satisfied smile.
"I hope you don't mind that I ordered for the table. I'm superb at knowing what people want before they know it." He told them with another wink. Anna knew her face was red. She was boiling with anger. She looked over at Hans and noticed he was struggling with his own battle. It was very subtle, but Anna knew he was upset by the way his jaw hardened and the tight smile he threw his father's way. Oh, so little Hans doesn't like it when daddy makes decisions for him? Anna made a mental note of that.
"It's getting a bit tense. Say something to break the ice." Eugene told her through the ear piece. Anna almost jumped at the sound. She had forgotten Eugene was listening in from two blocks down the street. Anna cleared her throat and smile.
"No, of course not. It's completely fine. I'm sure everything will be delicious. And I'm very eager to taste the red Bordeaux." Anna said 'excitedly.' She looked over at Hans who was unusually quiet and smiled her first real smile since she walked into the restaurant. Hans was still brooding over his father ordering for him. What a child.
Fiske laughed as he took a sip of his water.
"I would hope so Miss Summers. Château Pétrus is considered to be the most expensive wine in the world. Only 30,000 bottles are made every year and each one coast around $2,700 at the least." He bragged, smugly folding his hands in his lap.
Anna made herself look amazed and interested. She didn't care for people who flaunted their money. That's one of the reasons she loved Elsa so much. She never bragged, she never gloated, in fact, if it was up to her, she'd be completely satisfied living the normal life. Anna's chest warmed at the thought of the blonde waiting for her back at her apartment.
Before she had left to get ready for this lunch meeting, Elsa had asked her if she needed any help taking down SII. Anna had declined, telling Elsa that she didn't want her to get involved. Because if anything was to go wrong, she didn't want them tracing it back to Elsa or Frost Industries. Elsa was still very adamant about helping in some way if Anna was to ever change her mind. The redhead smiled and placed a kiss on the blonde's lips, thanking her.
"-don't you agree Miss Summers?" Fiske asked. Anna subtly shook her head and concentrated on Fiske. Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit. She had zoned out completely.
"Uh-" She nervously cleared her throat and took a sip out of her own water glass. Her earpiece crackled.
"You spaced out didn't you? Ugh, God Anna. Focus! Fiske said 'The most important step in defeating your enemies is first finding their weaknesses." Eugene told her quickly. Anna nodded her head and sat her glass down.
"Um, well… actually I believe-" Anna started and Eugene cut in.
"No Anna. Don't say anything radical, just agree."
Anna ignored the voice in her ear and continued.
"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle…" Hans looked confused at Anna's words and Fiske stared at her in interest.
"…meaning, in order to truly defeat your enemy you must first know yourself. Your own fears, strengths and weaknesses must be acknowledged. And then you should learn theirs. But if you don't know yourself, how could you possibly hope to conquer someone else? Knowing of your own flaws and shortcomings first and completely is the only way to achieve true victory over your rivals." Anna finished. Silence fell over them. She could hear Eugene face palm over her com and she almost wanted to do it herself. Welp. The goes the job. She blew it. Idiot! You should have just nodded and agreed!
Slowly, a smile spread across Fiske's face and his eyes shined in approval.
"Hmm... Sun Tzu huh? Truer words have never been spoken Miss Summers. I'm surprised you've read The Art of War. I've tried to get Hans here to read it once, but I guess the words were too big for him." Fiske joked with a hard laugh. Anna laughed nervously too while Hans just forced a smile.
"Oh Mr. Fiske. Please. Stop." Hans practically gritted out.
"It's fine Hans, I'm just having a little fun." He laughed more and Hans seemed to shrink in his seat.
Anna almost felt bad for him. Almost. Well… not really. But still…
Just as things started to get tense again, Anna smelled THE most heavenly aroma she'd ever smelled in her entire life float through the air.
Their waiter from before rolled out their food and sat it in front of them. Anna's mouth watered when she saw him lift the platters from Fiske and Hans plate. The Magret de Canard smelled amazing, and the Gigot D' agneau looked like it was cooked to perfection. Then he sat her salad in front of her and she struggled to stop herself from groaning in disappointment.
"I know you women are always trying to watch your figures, so you'll love this salad." Fiske commented, cutting into his duck.
'Fuck this salad.' Anna thought to herself as she watched as Fiske and Hans dig into their duck and lamb respectively.
She was definitely going to have to force Eugene to take her to the nearest burger joint after this.
****************FROZEN****************
"Hahaa. Mr. Fiske, that's hilarious! And then what happened?" Anna asked, bringing her glass of Bordeaux to her lips to take a sip. The wine was literally the only good thing about her entire meal.
"Well, the coast guards had to pull him out. I mean, who would bring a lifesaver to a company yacht party?" Fiske laughed loudly. Anna giggled and Hans scowled.
"I told you, that lady from management bumped into me and knocked me over." Hans replied, taking a long sip from his glass of wine.
"Yes well, you know how those company affairs go. Anything can happen." Fiske finished. Anna truly didn't understand what he was even talking about. She was barely listening to him and Hans trying not to bicker and pretend to not have more than a business relationship with each other. She was saved a reply when the waiter came and delivered the check. Fiske reached inside his jackets pocket and pulled out a wallet. He opened it and handed over an Am Ex black card. The exact same kind Hans had.
"And be gracious with the tip." He told the waiter. The man smiled and bowed.
"Thank you very much sir, I'll be right back."
As the waiter left, Fiske sat up straighter in his chair and turned to Anna with a stern expression.
"Well Anna, may I call you Anna?" he started. The redhead nodded her head.
"Of course sir."
"Well, Anna, I must say that I've thoroughly enjoyed our time together. I can tell you're a very smart, driven, diligent, and industrious young lady. You've impressed me quite a bit with your knowledge of tactics and strategy. That being said, I would like to officially offer you a position at The Southern Isle Industries starting as a junior business liaison. You'll be working very closely with other companies, especially Frost Industries, if you know what I'm suggesting?" he asked with a raised brow. Anna nodded her head and smiled a bit.
"I think I know exactly what you mean Mr. Fiske. And I'd be honored to take on the job." She responded in all seriousness.
Fiske leaned forward, arms folded on the table.
"And you won't let your personal relationship with Frost Industries CEO get in the way?" he asked suspiciously. Anna took in a deep breath and stared Fiske straight in the eye.
"Mr. Fiske. I'm more dedicated to actually making something of myself in this business then some half-baked relationship with a clingy OCD recluse. Not only will I not let my friendship with El-, Ms. Frost, get in the way of me doing my job, I'll use it to all of our advantage." Anna answered with unwavering confidence, all the while screaming, 'I'm sorry Elsa, I'm sorry Elsa' in her head.
Hans looked back and forth between Anna and his father. This lunch meeting had been torture for him, but it seemed like his father had really taken a liking to Anna. After a long pause, Fiske finally smiled and stuck out his large hand.
"Anna, you've got the job."
"YES!" she heard a loud voice scream in her ear and she winced a bit. She covered it by laughing and shaking Fiske's hand. Hans smiled brightly as well.
"Congratulations Anna." He leaned over and whispered to her as Fiske rose from his seat.
"Anna, I'll get your number from Hans and someone from SII will contact you with more info. I want you on the team as soon as possible. We'll talk more later." He told her. His phone began ringing and he quickly answered it, walking away from the two without another word. Hans tried to discreetly roll his eyes but Anna noticed. God, was he always THIS obvious?
Hans stood up next and offered his hand to help Anna out of her seat. The redhead pretended like she didn't see it as she grabbed her clutch. Ignoring the outstretched hand, she stood from her seat. Hans looked slightly perturbed, but hid it behind a smile.
"So, where to after this?" he asked as they walked towards the exit.
"Oh, um, well I actually have some things I need to do. You know, prepare for the new job and all." Anna responded as she walked ahead. Hans hurried and opened the door for her.
"Right. Of course. Well, I'll um- see you later then?" He responded, rubbing the back of his neck. Anna threw a small smile his way.
"Uh-huh, maybe. See you later Hans." Anna dismissed, walking away.
"OHHH! Ice cold Anna!" Eugene cheered loudly in her ear.
Anna smiled, glad to be out of the presence of both Fiske men for now.
"Shut up Eugene. And get ready to drive me to the nearest fast food place in your junky van. I'm starving."
AN: WE WILL NOW RETURN TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDUELED ELSANNA NEXT CHAPTER. Sorry I missed an update last week. My goodness, preparing for the new semester has been SO stressful and it took up most of my time. Anyway, hope you enjoyed this chapter. Shade thrown at Hans from all directions!
