Tell Me How To Fix You
Chapter 48
By: The Duchess of Arendelle
The New Girl - Part 2
AN: So here's part 2. Sorry for the long wait, but I've recently become VERY busy. Your regularly scheduled elsanna will be back next chaper. For now, I hope you enjoy this chapter! And sorry for any and all mistakes!
Anna nervously looked around the empty elevator. A few floors back, people began to become more and more sparse until finally there was was only her left in the large steel box. She stared at the numbers as they went up. 59, 60, 61, and finally 62. The redhead held her breath as the elevator dinged and the doors slowly began to slide open. Suddenly a bright smiling face popped into her view, making her jump a bit and yelp.
"Hi! You must be Anna Summers! So very nice to meet you! Come on, come on, we have to get a move on if we want to stay on schedule! This way!" The tall skinny blonde grabbed Anna by her wrist and quickly yanked her out of the metal box.
"Welcome to Southern Isle Incorporated! I'm Honey Lemon by the by, Mr. Fiske's PA. Or Personal Assistant to the layman. Or probably not. Everyone probably knows what PA stands for. I mean, it's not that hard to figure out, especially if it's used in a sentence like, 'Hi, I'm Mr. Fiske's PA' What else would it stand for? Public Announcer? Planting Advisor? Here, come sit here." she placed Anna in a large plush chair in front of a glass desk and then quickly seated herself across from her. Anna's mind was spinning from the breakneck speed Honey Lemon was taking her.
"So Ms. Summers, may I call you Anna?" she asked. Anna slowly nodded her head, slowly regaining her wits. Honey smiled.
"So Anna, let me just say how excited we here at SII are to have such a valuable member added to our team. I know we are going to have so much fun working together, along with all SII staff as we set forward to 'Creating a Better Tomorrow Today!'" Honey exclaimed happily. Anna had to restrain herself from rolling her eyes. This introduction sounded rehearsed, slightly forced even. She could tell Honey had been made to say the same thing hundreds of times to hundreds of different employees. The redhead forced a pleasant smile.
"Thank you, Ms. Lemon-"
"Oh, it's just Honey Anna, we're practically family now." Honey said excitedly. Anna raised an eyebrow and continued with great hesitance.
"Ok, well, thank you Honey. I can't wait to get started on 'Creating a Better Tomorrow Today.'" Anna finished, repeating SII's slogan back to her. Honey smiled wider.
"That's wonderful to hear! So, before I send you up to the big boss man, let me give you a few rules and get you to sign a few more documents. All formalities, really." Honey grabbed the folder that was sitting beside her computer and opened it, pulling out papers and sitting them in front of the redhead.
"There's really only one rule that is required for you to know and understand." she started, growing serious for a moment.
"'LLLL' Loose Lips Lead to Loss. Never discuss company projects or happenings outside of your department or the company itself. This could lead to leaks in projects and theft of ideas and revenue. Always remember 'LLLL'. and we won't have any problems. I hope that's clear." Honey explained.
Anna swallow a bit hard but nodded her head. "I understand." she responded, then smiled.
"Excellent! Now, on to the boring stuff, these documents, yuck right?" Honey joked. Handing the redhead a pen, Honey slid the documents closer to Anna. Anna picked up one of the papers and caught several suspicious words. Non- disclosure agreement. Confidentiality. Confidential disclosure. Proprietary information agreement. Secrecy agreement. She looked back at Honey who was still smiling and waiting patiently for her to sign the papers.
"Um, Honey, what are these documents for exactly?" she asked, picking up another one and quickly skimming through.
"Like I said, just formalities. These papers are to ensure both SII and your best interest." Was all she said, looking away for a second.
"You aren't an official employee until you've signed the papers Anna." Honey finished, sensing Anna's reluctance.
As much as the redhead wanted to take the papers and set a match to them, she had come way too far to back out now. So with great disinclination, Anna quickly signed her names to the papers and slid them back to Honey, who now sported a slightly troubled look on her face that was gone just as soon as it came.
Honey cleared her throat and fixed the oversized glasses on her face. They reminded Anna of the receptionist's down in the lobby frames. With a renewed megawatt smile, Honey stood and held her arms out. Anna stared at the blonde and reluctantly stood and leaned forward. As soon as she was close enough, Honey brought her arms around the redhead in a tight hug.
"Welcome to Southern Isle Anna, I can tell we are going to be great friends, we really are!"
Anna laughed nervously and agreed, slowly trying to work her way out of the blonde's anaconda grip. Finally the blonde let her go when a harsh ringing noise sounded through the office.
"Oh! I need to get that!" she quickly fumbled for the phone on her desk, pressing the blinking green button
.
"Hello Mr. Fiske. Yes. Yes of course sir. Yes. Alright, right away Mr. Fiske." the blonde's entire demeanor changed in a matter of seconds as she went from happy and bubbly, to serious and meek. Hanging up the phone, Honey's smile wasn't as bright as she turned her attention back to Anna.
"Mr. Fiske is ready to see you now. I'll clear the elevator to take you up." reaching a hand under her desk, she pressed a button and the elevator dinged, doors opening up and the numer 63 flashing above the frame.
Walking over to the elevator, Anna stopped when she heard Honey call her name.
"Oh and Anna? Best of luck!"
Anna gave Honey a genuine smile and thanked her for all her help. Honey just nodded and continued to grin.

Fiske's office
Anna stepped out of the elevator straight into a fabulously large office. She looked around in amazement at the large windows looking out over the city and the beautiful furniture adorning the room. It looked more like an apartment then a corporate office. Fiske stood by a unlit fireplace, sipping on a glass of scotch from the well stocked bar in the corner. He was chatting on his cell phone in Norwegian and raised a figure that was wrapped around the clear scotch glass at her, signaling for her to give him a second.
"Hm, I see. Yes. Yes, well, I don't care. I don't care how long it takes just get it done. We don't have room for any slip ups around here. We already have you know whom breathing down our necks. I need to go now. Yes, good bye." Fiske hung up the phone and place it inside his jacket's pocket. Smiling, he walked over to Anna, holding out a hand for her to shake. Anna took the proffered limb, shaking it in a firm grip.
"Anna, welcome. Have a seat."
As Fiske and the redhead sat down, the greying man leaned back in his large leather chair, legs crossed, and both hands intertwined.
"Anna I'm not going to keep you long. I just wanted to tell you how happy I am to have you on our team. I can't wait to see your work and really put you to the test."
Anna smiled as she sat straight as a rod across from the man she was planning to tear down from the inside out.
"Well I'm very happy that you've given me this opportunity, and I can not wait for the chance to prove my worth to you and the company." Anna replied in a happy tone. Fiske smiled.
"I'm happy to hear that Anna." he told the redhead with an easy smile. Anna could smell the alcohol wafting off his breath. It was barely noon. Clearing her throat, Anna smoothed a strand of hair behind her ear and asked Fiske a question.
"Just out of curiosity sir, I was wondering… why business liaison? I know SII has a news division. Newspapers, blogs, even a television network. Why not hire me for one of those outlets? Why business liaison?" Anna asked, wanting to know what Fiske's reaction and response would be.
"Well Anna, the SII news division is located out of state. And I need you here. I need you working on Frost Industries. I need you as my eyes and ears in that place. I need you to continue this 'friendship' with Elsa Frost and tell me what her next moves are before she even knows. In short Anna, I need a good snoop that can help the corporate division of my company." The ever present smirk remained on his face as he gave Anna his answer. Anna frowned a bit.
"But wouldn't my journalism skills be used even less here than at Frost Industries? I mean, I won't be writing articles. I won't be investigating real issues. I won't be informing the people of what they need to know."
"That's not true Anna. Your skills will be put to much more use here. Maybe you're not writing articles or going to the Middle East to report on another beheading or something pointless like that. You're doing something even more important. Don't you think the American people need to know if a company they think they can trust is not as reliable as they thought?" he asked in false concern. Anna fought the scowl that was trying to form on her face and just nodded with another forced smile.
"You're right Mr. Fiske. The American people do need to know. And I'm going to be the one who tells them." she said with determination Fiske believed was for his cause.
"Wonderful. How about you go get started then. You're dismissed. Good day Anna." he waved her off, getting up to pour himself another drink.
Anna climbed back on the elevator and adjusted the glasses on her face. She had been recording from the moment she stepped through SII's doors. Fiske was an alcoholic, close minded ass that was hiding something, and she was going to expose him for what he really was.
AN: I'm so happy I got this out of the way! I wanted to introduce the SSI characters and give you an impression of them and the work environment and now I have. Back to some ELSANNA next chapter thank goodness! But, the story is going to keep rolling. Happy times and hard times ahead. I can pretty much guarantee you I won't be able to upload often for a while. A LOT of things are going on right now, not bad, just a lot of stuff is happening so I have to focus on that, but I will try to update as much as possible.
And yes, Arendelle is a small American town that a lot of Norwegians settled in back in the day, so because of how Anna was brought up, she can speak Norwegian, FYI. And we will get more into that in later chapters!
See y'all!
