Elsa stared at her phone and let out a long sigh. Today had been hard, especially with Anna away. She wanted to prove to the redhead that she didn't need her to ghost her every move. She wanted to show her that she was capable of caring for herself and being fine alone. But after the news she had gotten earlier that day, she could really use the redhead's presence right now.

EARLIER

Elsa had just ended her morning call with Anna, the redhead had been on her way to meet up with her friends, when she heard her office phone ringing. Making her way to the room, she quickly picked up the phone, answering with a timid, "Hello?"

"Ah Miss Frost, good morning! I hope all is well with you?" said the cheerful heavily accented French man on the other in.

Elsa slowly nodded and then, realizing he couldn't see her, cleared her throat and spoke.

"Mr. Cortier, what a pleasure. I am doing well, I hope you are the same." she responded, straightening her back in an attempt to turn on her "professional mode".

"Very well Miss Frost, very well. I bet you're wondering why I'm calling." he continued.

"Well…" Elsa was cut off as he pressed on.

"I have very important news! The investors would like to meet with you in person next month to go over the new layout changes for the hotel. And then we'd like you to fly out to Adelböden so you can inspect the property for yourself in a few months time." Mr. Cortier informed the blonde.

Elsa fell silent on the other end of the phone. He… he wanted her to do what? She could feel that telltale tightening in her chest as the seconds ticked by without her saying a word.

"Miss Frost? Are you still there?" Cortier asked in confusion.

"I… I… I'm sorry b-but I can't. You'll have to find someone else to do it." she responded, swallowing past a hard lump in her throat.

"But… with all do respect Miss Frost, this is your responsibility. You took it on once you decided to take over the Frost Palace account. The investors, they want to meet with you, not a representative. You have to approve the building site and the construction personally." Cortier explained to Elsa in his always gentle yet firm voice.

Elsa felt like someone took a mixer to her insides and put it on high. Her stomach churned unpleasantly as she tried to imagine herself even leaving the confines of her apartment, let alone board a plane with all those different people and their germs. Touching them? Talking to them face to face? She knew she'd told Anna that she was ready to start considering leaving her house at her own pace but this was… this was too much. A month? No. Absolutely not.

"Miss Frost? Are you alright madame? Your breathing has intensified tenfold. It sounds as if you are hyperventilating. Do you need help?" Cortier asked with deep concern. Elsa tried to swallow.

"No!" she told him loudly before forcing herself to bring her voice to a semi normal level.

"I mean, no. No, I'm fine. I just- I'll need to get back to you on this issue. I- uh, I am not currently able to discuss this matter with you at this present moment. Goodbye Mr. Cortier."

"Wait! Miss Frost-" Elsa abruptly hung the phone up before he could say more. She let out a heavy sigh. What was she going to do?

NOW

She wasn't sure if she could tell Anna about this. All the playfulness and bravado she had with the redhead just seconds ago on the phone was all a front to hide how terrified she was right now.

Elsa had been trying desperately to keep her mind off of straightening up her apartment, after she'd received the call from the French businessman. Earlier she had already given in and cut the frayed string that was hanging from one of the throw pillows. It was bothering her so much and she couldn't resist the temptation. And now, as she heard the sound of a key sliding into the lock and the door open, she had to close her eyes and take in a deep breath to calm herself. The last thing she needed right now was Anna figuring out just how much she was freaking out. They didn't need this kind of drama in their relationship right now.

Elsa heard her front door slam followed by the sound of the redhead's voice calling out a cheerful greeting.

"Elsa! Hey, I'm back!" The blonde smiled as she saw the redhead walk into the living room. She felt the tightening in her chest loosen a bit just at the sight of the redhead. Anna spotted Elsa smiling on the couch and returned it as she rushed over to the blonde, flopping down beside her and engulfing her in a tight hug. Because of their angles it was awkward, but the blonde's smile widened as she hugged her back.

"Did you miss me Snowflake?" Anna asked jokingly.

"More than you'd know." Elsa responded, burying her face deeper into the redhead's neck.

Anna smiled wider then slightly frowned.

"Is everything alright Elsa?" The redhead asked, voice gentle and laced with concerned. Elsa's breathing hitched slightly and she swallowed before responding.

"Everything is fine, why do you ask?" The blonde's voice was quiet and Anna broke the embrace to look at Elsa.

"Well, just… a feeling I guess. You seemed fine on the phone but now… I don't know, I guess I'm just getting this nervous vibe from you." Anna explained, checking the blonde closely.

Elsa stayed silent for a second as she mustered up another smile. "I'm fine Anna, really. Just, I'm glad you're here is all. Is that bad?" she asked, nervously fiddling with her braid. The smile was back on Anna's face and she leaned in to place a light kiss on the blonde's cheek.

"No, of course that's not bad. I'm glad I'm here too, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."

Elsa looked away for a second as a light blush rose to her cheeks. She felt slightly bad for deceiving Anna, but she technically wasn't lying. She was tremendously happy the redhead was there with her, she just, she couldn't bring herself to tell Anna what was going on right now.

"Hey." she heard the redhead call her attention back.

"Wasn't their talks of pizza and AHS going around?" Elsa let out a shy laugh.

"I'll pull Netflix up, you order the pizza." she commanded. Anna fake saluted.

"Aye aye Elsa." The redhead laughed as Elsa rolled her eyes. She got up to grab a drink from the kitchen and order the food.

*Ping*

A text from Rapunzel popped up on the redhead's screen.

7:23 P.M: PUNZ: Drma yet?

7:24 P.M: ANNA: What? No, I just got here. I haven't even brought it up yet. And complete sentences please.

7:24 P.M: PUNZ: Fine. You chickening out? :P

7:24 P.M: ANNA: No, just… these sorts of things have to be finessed you know...

7:24 P.M : PUNZ: WOW. You're gonna choke aren't you? :/

7:25 P.M: ANNA: NO! I am not gonna choke! I'm gonna order pizza, we're gonna watch some t.v. and were gonna relax. Then BAM, I'll tell her that I think she should talk to Jane.

7:25 P.M: PUNZ: Maybe you should talk to Jane first. See what she's like.

7:26 P.M: ANNA: No, I have a plan and I'm going to stick to it.

"Anna?"

The redhead let out a yelp and jumped slightly. She turned around and saw Elsa looking at her with concern.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. I just came to see which season you wanted to watch." Elsa said apologetically. Anna shook her head.

"No I'm sorry. You just… snuck up on me there." Anna laughed nervously. Elsa still looked concerned as she glanced at the cell phone Anna was grasping tightly in her hands and back at the redhead.

"So… Coven then?" Elsa asked unsure, glancing once again at the phone as Anna hurriedly held it behind her back.

"Coven? Sure, yeah, sure. Sounds great. I'll be there in a minute." Anna smiled too widely and the blonde stared at the redhead for a moment, slightly opening her mouth as if she wanted to say something and then closing it. Changing her mind, she walked back towards the living room in confusion.

Anna turned back to her phone and checked the barrage of texts Rapunzel had left her within those few minutes.

7:26 P.M: PUNZ: i dnt kno, U prob should check her out frst

7:28 P.M: PUNZ: Dude, respond.

7:30 P.M: PUNZ: Is this about the txt speech?

7:30 P.M: PUNZ: Fine I'll write in complete sentences.

7:30 P.M: PUNZ: Wow, way to ignore your favorite cousin Anna.

7:31 P.M: PUNZ: Dude, why do you care about grammer so much?!

7:31 P.M: PUNZ: I hate writing in complete sentences. That defeats the purpose of a text. Texts are suppose to be short, quick messages. Might as well write a friggin letter!

7: 33 P.M: PUNZ: Anna?

7:33 P.M: PUNZ: Annaaaa?

7:34 P.M: PUNZ: Grammer natzi.

Anna rolled her eyes at the brunette's antics and shot back a simple text before closing out of her message and dialing the number for Pabi's.

7:37 P.M: ANNA: You misspelled grammar, twice.

AN: I wanted to write more to this chapter, because I have more Elsanna fluff I'm going to add before the drama, but I also wanted to update since I haven't updated in forever and a day. So more to come. :) Happy Halloween!
