Three months later Sheldon, Amy and Leonard were all waiting outside Penny's office. Promptly at 5.00pm Penny's two PhD students came out
Penny said "OK James and Michael, I need to go now, send me an email if you have any problems. I will be back at Caltech on Thursday morning. I hope Caltech can cope without me until then."
Leonard "Are you ready Penny, all the luggage is in the car, we need to get to the airport if we are going to get to Nebraska in time."
Penny "I am ready, let's go!"

All four of them has a good time at Professor Schwartz's farewell conference. During the Physics lectures Penny's father Wyatt took Leonard to visit some relatives. Amy took the chance to talk to some of the Nebraska biologists. Penny had a great time at home, she saw her family and was able to be a scientist without any of her Caltech responsibilities for the 5 days of the conference.
Wednesday afternoon it was all over, Penny said goodbye to her family. She told her parents to come out to California and visit more often after Professor Schwartz's retirement.
Thursday morning Penny was back to her endless meetings at Caltech. It took her most of the weekend to catch up what she had missed :-(

Four months later Penny got home at 9pm on Friday night in an awful mood. She was really tired when she entered 4A to see Leonard, Amy and Sheldon.
Penny "Home at last, another 11 months of this nightmare to go :-(" then she kissed her husband.
Sheldon "Welcome home Penny, we have some news."
Amy stood up and took Sheldon's hand "We are engaged to be married!"
Penny's frown turned to a smile in less than a microsecond as she joined Leonard, Amy and Sheldon in a group hug :-)
