Hi guys! I'm so sorry for the delay with updating! But with having a lot of personal stuff going on I just haven't had the time. But now I'm back.

As always thanks to everyone for the reviews & follows. Plus huge thanks every time to the awesome Jelly Bean Jenna!

P.S. The first part in italic is the end of the last chapter. Also this is more a filler chapter.

Chapter 6

Lifting her coffee and making her way back to the stairs, she spotted Boyd walking straight towards her and he didn't seem to happy;

"McNally! Why the hell have you not been answering your phone" Boyd's booming voice caught the attention of a few officers around them but none where really interested apart from Sam. Sam was clearly intrigued as to why Boyd from the Guns and Gang Unit would be interested in Andy. Andy however just rolled her eyes;

"Well hello to you too Boyd" she said in a sarcastic tone. She heard the smirk from someone behind her but never looked to see who it was;

"Very funny. Look when are you going to get back out there. The Mason brother's will be asking questions soon" Boyd said, keeping his voice as low as he could. But not low enough for someone;

"God sake Boyd" Andy moaned as she walked passed him, heading to the stairs but Boyd following right behind her "You said you had cleared me for two weeks, I'm supposed to be with a so called ill boyfriend. So to answer your question I'll finish up the UC in two weeks" and with that Andy stormed off heading for the main door for some fresh air, refusing to be around Boyd any longer.

By this point Sam was standing next to the filling cabinet with papers in his hands but also pretending not to listen in on what Andy was saying. It all started to fall into place though after she stormed off. Andy McNally was an undercover detective working with Boyd.

Sitting in the fresh air was actually peaceful and refreshing, letting the conversation she had just had wash over her. She couldn't think about her UC job at this very moment. She knew she'd have to go back and soon but not now, not yet. There was still a few things to do here with regards to Traci and Leo as well as finding herself a new apartment. Car horns beeping and the sounds of cars coming and going was all Andy could hear until a voice spoke, a voice she thought she'd never have to hear again;

"So it's true, the job stealer McNally is back" came the evil voice. Andy didn't even have to look round to know who was talking. It was none other than Marlo Cruz.

The way Andy was feeling right this moment, she really wasn't in the mood for the cousin she really couldn't stand;

"Yeah it's true, sorry to disappoint you. But I won't be around for long" Andy seethed as she took a sip of her coffee. She pushed herself to her feet, hoping to quickly get back inside before Marlo started on one of her rants. She should have known better though;

"Oh please, you will be back in no time and then trying to steal someone else's job. Just like you did with me" Marlo cursed, deep down she knew this wasn't the time or the place but seeing Andy again after all these months, the anger just came flooding back. What she didn't expect was for Andy to laugh back at her;

"This is getting so boring now Marlo. The job was there for the taking, it's not my fault you didn't get the post. Now just shut up and let me get on with my life" and before another word could be said Andy stormed off, back into the station hoping for a few hours peace before dinner with Leo later.

Finally what seemed like a life time, it was time to leave the station and head out to dinner with Leo. It had been a day of ups and down, mainly downs and all bad ones. She only had just over a week left at 15th Division before she would have to leave again. The thought of leaving brought painful tears to her eyes but she hid it well, thanks to all the training she had received. Looking at the pile of files lying on Traci's desk she knew that tomorrow was the day to start them, not tonight.

Grabbing her things Andy headed downstairs, rushing to the exit as fast as she could before anyone would spot her. She just wanted out to dinner and then home for a long, hot bath. Something she had been thinking about all day.

Just as she was pushing the door open, someone yelling her name, stopped her in her tracks. Turning she came face to face with Sam;

"I'll walk out with you" he said, helping to open the door as she walked through. Too tired to say anything, Andy just smiled her thanks. "So I seen you talking with Boyd earlier and Marlo" Sam said, hoping to start up some conversation with this woman who had, had him intrigued since the mention of her name all those months ago;

"Don't miss much do you" Andy laughed out slightly, she should have known someone would have noticed; "Well I suppose you've guessed as to why I have been away for so long and Boyd is my handler. Marlo on the other hand, is my cousin and we don't get along" Andy stated just as they had reached her car. Sam was shocked about Marlo, the thought of them being related never even crossed his mind. Maybe now wasn't the best time so mention that Marlo was his ex. "Interesting, you seem to surprise me every time we talk" Sam said in a tone Andy had never heard before and just from that the air between them seemed to change. Andy didn't want this the now, especially in the station's car park;

"I don't want to seem rude but I promised Leo we'd go out for pizza. Why don't you join us?" She asked, hoping the answer would be yes. She just wanted and loved spending time with this man. The smile that grew on the face before her was all the answer she needed;

"Sure I'll follow in my truck and it's my treat" and before Andy could argue, Sam was already walking away from her.

In the shadows of the corner of the station, Marlo had witnessed the whole thing. She couldn't believe that her cousin was now trying to steal her man. And that didn't sit well with her at all.

Thirty minutes later, Andy, Sam and Leo where sitting in a local pizza place laughing and enjoying each other's company. There was never any awkwardness or tension, ever between the two of them and Andy had never experienced anything like that before. Sam excusing himself to head to the bathroom broke Andy out of her little bubble she had fell into;

"I really like Sam, he's so much fun" Leo blurted out. Andy smiled at the boy next to her, this was the happiest she had seen him since his mum had died;

"You and me both buddy" she quipped as she nudged his shoulder. Bickering from the main door could be heard as a few people entered, Andy was too focused on Leo to notice until the voice that spoke froze her to the seat. The chilling voice sending shivers down her spine;

"Candice I thought you were going to be away for a few weeks?" Paul Mason asked as he stopped next to her table. She swallowed hard, keeping her emotions in check but also praying Leo would keep quiet;

"Nice to see you Paul and well plans change but I will be back very soon" She said, gaining the waitresses attention so she could settle up and get out of there;

"Well that's great too hear, maybe we could meet the sick boyfriend also once you return" came the questionable voice of the man she had grew to hate over the months. Instead of answering all Andy could do was smile and nod, looking between the till and the bathroom.

"You don't have wait then..." Came the voice of Sam nearly making Andy jump "I'm JD, Candice's boyfriend and if you don't mind we're just leaving" and with that Sam threw a couple of bills down on the table before picking up Leo and taking Andy's hand. Andy felt the eyes of one of the Mason brother's bore into her back as she walked away, she knew there would be hell to pay on her return.

And there you have it, it's more a filler chapter as I really needed to post something!

It will get better & there is a twist in this story also! Be back with more soon!
