Hey guys! So sorry it's been a while but I'm finally back updating. I still can't upload so thanks to the awesome Jelly Bean Jenna for doing it for me!
Chapter 7
Constant banging from her apartment door was what finally woke Andy up. The cursing of a man's voice and then the padding of footsteps to the door had Andy racking her brain until the events of last night finally came into her head.
After meeting one of the Mason brother's in the pizza place Sam decided that it would be best for him to stay the night, on the sofa, just to play on with their act. Mainly to be on the safe side and to keep Andy's cover.
Andy cursed herself for letting her guard down slightly and having Leo near such people.
Silence was all Andy could now hear, meaning that whoever was at the door Sam got rid off.
Stretching and moving to sit up in bed was what she was in the middle of doing when she heard Sam's voice from the other side of her bedroom door; -
"Andy, someone from social services is here. She's asking to talk to you. It's about Leo." Sam said obviously still half a sleep with the tone of his voice.
Andy though couldn't think about that and was up faster this morning then any other time. In so much of a hurry that she forgot all about Sam, she threw the door open and went smacking right into a shirtless Sam Swarek. Andy felt the tingling sensation race through her body as Sam's hands caught her by the arms stopping her from falling over. They both stared at each other, lost in each other's eyes. Neither of them could tell you who started moving closer but neither seemed to mind.
The moment came to an abrupt halt when Leo came into the hallway shouting on Andy; -
"Hey buddy, why don't you show Sam your knew playstation game while I go and see who the visitor is. Ok?" She said, putting on the front she had taught herself to have so many years ago.
She smiled as Leo excitedly agreed and dragged Sam into his bedroom. She couldn't help but laugh at Sam asking an 8 year old how he plays the game.
Straightening herself up, Andy wondered down the hall to find a small, brunette haired woman standing in her Dad's living room looking at a photograph.
"Hi I'm Andy McNa..." but Andy came to an abrupt halt with her sentence as she came face to face with the woman who had walked out on her and her Dad years ago.
Claire turned to look at her daughter, she was more beautiful than she could have imagined. This wasn't the way she had planned on having a reunion with Andy or if she was ever to have one. But luck would have it that her job would bring her to the situation they found themselves in now. The tension was through the roof but she had a job to do, she couldn't make this personal.
"Andy, social services received a call with regards to Leo being in your care. I am aware of the circumstances as to how Leo's mum is no longer here. We received an anonymous call with regards to your career and that person feels that you won't be able to care for Leo."
Andy was beyond livid, her mother stood only a few inches away in a job she never thought she would ever see here in. Plus someone has placed a call to them saying that she is no good for Leo. Rubbing her forehead as a headache started to seep into it, Andy knew this wasn't the time for a heart to heart with the mother she never knew.
"I'm not sure why you would have received that call or who would have placed it. But I can assure you that, that little boy will always have a home with me. He will always be loved and cared for. I will always be there for him as well as Traci's family and friends." Andy knew she shouldn't really have a dig but she just couldn't help it.
"I'm sorry to rush this but myself and Sam are due at work soon and I need to get Leo ready for his Grandma. If you call the station later I'll be more than happy to arrange another meeting there with you."
And with that said Claire just nodded, knowing that it was her que to go. Not wanting to cause anymore upset, she placed her card on the table and then left.
Andy watched as her mother walked out of her apartment and the moment the door was shut she could finally relax. With her due back to UC soon, this now with social services was something she could really be done without.
But like always she would deal with everything as it came. Letting out a deep sigh she headed back down the all to the bedroom, passing the laughing and giggling from the 8 year old boy she loved as her own.
Just a little over an hour later Andy and Sam pulled up into 15th division's car park. Andy telling Sam of everything that was said earlier in the apartment on the drive over. Sam couldn't understand why anyone would want to call Social Services on Andy. Sure he hasn't known her for every long but he'd seen the connection between her and Leo, it's a bond that no-one or nothing could break.
"How are you going to deal with it?" Sam asked as they walked through the doors of 15th. It was quiet, no-one really around so at least this conversation nobody would really hear.
"I have no idea. I need to try and find out who..." but whatever Andy was about to say was cut short but Frank's booming voice. Andy had been summoned to Frank's office and with Boyd already in there, this couldn't be good. Before Sam could say anything Andy was already halfway to Frank's office shouting she'd text later.
As Sam watched her go, he made a promise to himself now that whatever was brewing up between him and Andy he'd like to see where it could go and also find out who made the call to Social Services. Sam wouldn't admit it to himself but maybe, just maybe Sam Swarek was falling head over heels for brown eyed Detective.
Just when Andy thought her day couldn't get any worse, it had.
Now she found herself sitting in a car at the back the division waiting on Boyd to make an appearance. They needed her back in the UC as from tonight and there was to be no arguing about it. Andy felt sad for her friends, Sam and Leo because she was once again leaving but at least she knew it wouldn't be for long. Sam sprang to her mind, like he did nearly all the time. Something was happening between them but something always got in the way. She said earlier she would text me and knowing this would be her last chance that's exactly what she did: -
"Sam,
I'm so sorry but I need to leave. Please look after Leo for me and keep yourself safe. Maybe once I'm back we can go out together, just us. I promise I will be back as soon as I can.
Love A.
xx"
Just as she hit send. Boyd jumped into the driver's seat and they were off. Once again she looked in the mirror as 15th Division faded more and more into the background. Only this time she'd be home real soon.
Sam was busy trying to find out the information for the Social's visit this morning when his phone pinged indicating that he had a text. Quickly opening it his heart sank at the words he was reading.
She was gone, gone again and for who knows how long. All the pieces from a couple of hours ago fell into place, why she was called into Frank's off and why Boyd was there. Andy was back to her UC. Running a hand down his face the only comfort was she trusted him enough to look after Leo and that whatever he was feeling between them, she was too.
Sam felt his heart swell up just at the thought of a date with Andy. That in itself was enough to form a small smile. He must have been so lost in thought because he never even heard Oliver calling his name. Looking up he seen his best friend rushing towards; -
"What is it Oliver?" Sam asked, seeing the look of shock and concern on his friend's face, he knew that it wasn't good. Oliver though didn't speak, he just handed Sam the opened file in his hand and waited.
Confused Sam starting looking over the pieces of paper. As he read further on a knot in his gut nearly made him feel sick. If what Oliver had found in Traci's files was true then it didn't take a genius to figure out that once again one of their own was in serious danger and had no backup for safety.
And there you have it. Next chapter up soon. As always I love to see you reviews!
