The woman's jaw was down and her eyes were wide. Mirii was holding a paper with her hands and her irises were sliding left and right, while looking at many phrases. A familiar, upbeat music plays from the woman's pants… as she picked up her smartphone and brought it on her ear, after a quick swipe.
"Pol?" Her hand began sliding on her tentacle rapidly. "What is it?"
Hun yawned, as he sit on an oval chair nearby and began looking at the woman…
"… a horde of couples are coming this way?!" Her fingers went on her mouth. "Don't joke on me, Pol! Th-that doesn't happen as often"
Her mouth sealed, as her irises shrunk.
"… k-keep them out for a second, ok?!" She aimed at Mirii. "I have a particular customer to deal with!"
"Particular would be your senseless way of doing your job." Mirii lifted her sight away from the paper, now frowning at the woman. "You chose to"
"Listen, I give up!" The woman shivered, while lowering her smartphone and almost bowing down. "Yo-you can enter without showing me your ID cards, ok?!" A stream of tears came from her eyes. "Th-the boss is going to fry me, if I receive complains about my slow working-speed!
"... slow working-speed?" Mirii's head rose.
"S-so!" The woman's hands went above the keyboard, while sweating. "How about you tell me which course you want?! Like… the standard one? The full one?"
Mirii's eyes squeezed a bit, as she puts down the pile of papers.
"Since you gave up on your bet… I request the full course for half the price." She folded her arms.
"N-no… wait…" The woman whispered, as sweat covered her whole face. "Yo-you can't ask me t-to apply s-such price cut…!"
Mirii frowned a bit more, while lowering her head and still staring at the sweating Inkling.
"You clearly said that the bet's prize"
"Bu-but I-I gave up because of the incoming couples!" Her hands clasped. "B-be reasonable with me, p-please!"
"… I'm going to report your little habit of betting with the customers…" Mirii's head turned left and right. "Where is your boss"
"Ok, ok! Half the price!" The woman began tapping on the keyboard. "I get it! Please, be quiet!"
Mirii snorted, as her hands went on her hips.
"She truly needs a lesson… but I had enough of her stupidity." Her head shook. "She seems quick on the keyboard, for someone who claims to be slow at work… perhaps it's just an impression she has on herself and thus, she will finish in less than 5 minutes… yes, I'm sure of this." She nodded, as her eyes closed.
"Ah, darn it!" The woman's hands pointed at the monitor, while her face raged. "Why the computer is restarting everything?! How can I stop this thing?!" She began pressing the mouse buttons, almost slamming them. "Aaah, I hate this!"
Mirii kept her pose and expression for a brief while…
Mirii groaned, as she leaned on the wall and stared at the woman, as she was still pressing the buttons on the keyboard. The girl's eyelids were lowered to the middle…
"… she keeps on ranting about that computer…" She sighed. "That's why she's taking this much time… how could they"
"I did it!" The woman smiled, as she went down. "I finally did it!"
"Good." Mirii walked away from the wall, as her arms folded. "Now, let us show those documents."
"Documents?" Hun stands up from his chair, as he stretched his arms and back upwards. "Didn't you said"
The woman rose back from behind the table, while holding two papers and putting them in front of the boy.
"It's 1000 coins each!" Her hand opened. "Do you use a coin account card for the payments?"
"2000 coins?" Mirii reached the counter, as her hands picked up both papers and began reading their contents mentally. "Cheaper than I thought…"
"It was supposed to be 4000 coins in total… but because the computer verified the delay of service offered, I have applied a fee on myself in order to not let this machine send a notification mail to my boss and thus, saving myself from receiving a double fee right from my boss!" Her mouth downturned.
"I see…" Mirii put the papers back to their places, as she took a plastic card and showed it to the receptionist. "Wouldn't those couples in line be considered part of the service offered? Are you receiving even more fees"
"No, my responsibility starts when I work directly on the computer." The woman picked the card from the girl's hand, as she smiled and looked at Mirii. "Which is why I'm hoping to see much less couples, once I'm done with you two…"
Her mouth sealed, as she turned over the computer screen and resumed her quick button-pressing with only her free hand.
"So, you wouldn't risk receiving any more fees and complains, because of your 'slow working-speed'…" Mirii's head rose. "Which is more about your uncontrollable rage over mindless machines…"
"You can catch on with the situation sooner than it looks…" The woman glimpsed over the card for a second, before aiming back at the monitor. "… by any chance, do you happen to frequent an university as well?"
"Unfortunately, I do not… but I'm following a course." Mirii smiled a bit. "I'm almost done with it…"
"After that, are you going to matriculate?" The receptionist brought the card back to its owner.
"We will see about that." The girl grabbed the card, storing it away. "So, can we start this course?"
"Just keep the documents with you and reach the changing rooms." The woman pointed her forefinger to the left side. "Tonight the changing rooms are there just to store valuable items… keep all your belongings inside the free lockers and start exploring this building to your hearts' content!"
"We cannot store items, if we don't possess any key system…" Mirii's eyes squeezed a bit.
The woman's irises began turning left and right… as her right hand was already holding another plastic card, which was white on both sides.
"Take this universal card key." Her right eye closed. "It doesn't have any label on it, since it's supposed to be kept in between the staff… but because you and your boyfriend are not identified, I cannot give you a card key who has your names on it."
She shrugged.
"What I have to do about it? I can only hope you are not going to cause any trouble, nor you show that thing at staff members…"
The girl captured the white card as well, saving it in the same spot as her previous plastic card.
"If your colleagues discover your card key in my possession, your boss will definitively punish you…" Mirii nodded.
"He's going to fire me directly, because of that!" The woman's hands clasped, as they shook back and forth and her eyes were releasing streams of tears. "S-so, please… please be kind Squids who do not backstab good-willing allies like me!"
"… we will not." Mirii's hand rose, stopping near her head, as her left arm stretched alongside her body. "Guaranteed."
The door opened, as several Inklings were marching outside the hallway. Mirii turned behind-
"Take the documents with you!" The woman lifted the two papers. "Go now! Please!"
Hun pulled the papers out of the woman's hand and marched past the girl.
"Hunley, don't rush like that!" Mirii frowned, as she dash-started after the boy. "You do not know where the changing rooms could possibly be! Hunley!"
He dived right after the turn on the right, as the girl mimicked his previous movement in a similar manner, once near the relative corner.
…
Kelly slowly appears in the middle of the hallway. Her mouth was forming a ^, as her arms were swinging back and forth without much energy into their pushes…
"I can't peek over them, if they are venturing inside a changing room…" She turned behind, watching a line of Inklings forming under her eyes. "… but should I really follow them around all the time? I don't think they would mind much, if I decide to explore this place for a bit…"
Her head lowered, before raising back up. Her mouth formed a flipped 3.
"In faaact… if I do just that AND I find out something useful… maybe I can use my findings to make Mirii admit her mistakes! She might learn a valuable teaching because of me!"
She smiled widely.
"Master Hun would be sooo happy to see me helping out his love interest… and perhaps, I would snatch a promotion if he thinks that my deeds were as good!"
She chuckled, as she began dancing in place.
"I looooove iiiiit! I so love it…! I'm so happy too! Welcome back, nice mood!" She laughed. "So… where should I go first?"
Her eyes closed.
"I must ponder about this, veeeerrryyy carefuuuulllyyyy…" She nodded slowly.
