"Uff, uff!" Greta kept panting, while grasping her weapon and walking over the building's entrance. "Come on, Barsy… we have walked in quicksand before! This is nothing!"

"Like…" Bars was following the girl, keeping his Roller on his shoulder. "… wonder if this extra weightin' walking is doing any good on us…"

"Always looking for a positive, eh?" Greta giggled. "At times like this, it would sure come in handy…"

The girl stopped in front of an opened rectangle-shaped entrance, complete with a green carpet.

"… no door entrance?" Her right eye squeezed a bit. "Totally weird…"

"Perhaps a thief stole it?" The boy chuckled.

"Keep being positive!" She snorted, frowning slightly. "Leave the jokes to a natural!"

"Aaaalright!" He shrugged. "Like, shall we go in?"

"Not one step closer, you demons!"

"Ah!" Greta rose her head, as her irises shrunk and her arms opened slightly. "You got guts for trying to"

"In front of ya, girl!" Bars frowned, as he grasped his roller weapon with both his tentacles.

An Inkling man wearing a black kimono, had his right hand holding a katana's handle situated on his side.

"You got guts for trying to trick on a trickster!" Immediately, Greta pointed her weapon at the man. "A trickster who's on your side as well!"

"I don't remember being allied with monsters like you!" The man frowned, as he took off his katana and pointed it at the girl.

Orange ink was dripping from the katana's orange blade.

"Master Hun has already enough problems already… why do you want"

"Hey hey, you are still not seeing the same shirt we are wearing?!" Greta opened her arms wide. "Do you think we didn't utilize the ink pool to reach out this place?!"

"… ink pool?" The man kept his pose, while showing his teeth.

"Yep!" Greta's wrist went on her side. "A nice ink pool to dive into and reach the place of my thoughts… all provided by a good, little girl called Nira!"

"Nira?!" The man's mouth opened wide, as his posture lifted. "Wait… we were told that she would reach the Master's friends and ask for their help. She was also supposed to test out her powers…"

"How would you think we got under such forms?!" Greta nodded. "Her powers would need some calibrations here and there, so Squids wouldn't turn into… this!" Her free tentacle pointed at her stomach.

The man frowned.

"It's true that her powers might lead to collateral effects… but you would need more proof than that!" He bended forward. "All I need is to read your thoughts and see if you have any drenched plans in mind!"

"Like, do I even have thoughts…?" Bars chuckled, as he shrugged.

"You would have gotten too OP, as you would call it!" Greta laughed, as she lowered her Splattershot.

The man's eyes closed.

"… I don't hear anything suspicious… your mind is filled so much with memories about 'fun' and 'food', no Demon Squid could be this determined…"

He retracted his katana, as he bended down on his knee.

"Apologies for suspecting on your behalf… no offense, but those looks of yours are terrifying to say the least!" He downturned his mouth.

"Nothing we can do about it…" Greta shrugged. "… but how about we start things up in this Happy Squid Land fiasco?"

"Sure… I was guarding the entrance, making sure that no more Demon Squids would enter in. There are other allies inside this building… I will warn them of your presence, so they will not attack you." The man jumped upwards, once he stood upwards. "Be careful once inside!"

"Like, with some scares to spare, what could we possibly need?!" Bars chuckled, as he lowered his Roller weapon.

"Legs who don't sink inside our own ink?!" Greta shook her head, as she resumed her walk. "Next time, we will pick up some rubber rings…"

"But girl!" Bars went after her. "It's not like we"

"Ssshh!" The top of her eyes 'smiled'.

The two Inklings went past the entrance, stopping right after. Greta's irises bounced left and right: chairs were down on the floor, drawings were sporting straps and pieces of papers were scattered all over! Ink trails, each of a different color, were present on the ground, on the furniture and even on the walls.

"… this place is even worse than a cold room…" She shivered.

"I think there was a party goin' on…" Bars frowned slightly, as he turned his head around.

"More like a war going on." Greta rose her Splattershot, grasping it with both her tentacles. "Let's get movin', now!"

She walked, while shooting ink projectiles at the different-colored ink trails.

"Like, while we are at it… shall we go get some protein food?" Bars grinned, as he followed the girl and looked at a hallway entrance.

"Better having some groove on the job than food in our stomach!" Her free tentacle waved up and down, in front of the boy. "Now, how about we feast our eyes on that incoming hallway?"

Bars nodded. The girl's legs dived inside the blue ink, as she gritted her teeth and snorted during her walk. The boy jumped instead, causing a splash that moved some blue ink around him.

"Barsy!" Greta snorted, as blue ink was covering the back of her shirt for a short period of time. "Do you wanna empty a pool? Go do that on a real pool full of chocolate!"

"Aaaaww, girl… don't give me ideas now…!" He grins widely.

Her irises rolled, as she kept walking through the wavy ink. She reached the end of the blue ink stain, raising from it and stepping back on the floor. As she glanced at the incoming hallway, the girl cocked her weapon and shot some more ink projectiles on her right.

"Get some turf ready: this hallway has the ambushed look all over it." Her eyes squeezed a bit.

Clic, clic.

"What's all that clicking sound, now?!" She brought her weapon in front of her face, as her eyes grew wide. "You are supposed to shoot! Doing all the ra-ta-ta and ownage!"

"It does work fine on my part!" Bars swung his Roller over his left side.

"You haven't even swung that thing once!" Greta sighed. "Oh darn it… as if those wonky legs didn't gave us a hard time already!"

"Yeah, girl… like, how would you call the times when Squid foes are charging at us?!" Bars kept his mouth opened, watching the hallway.

"A darn robbery for sure!" Her sight moved onto the hallway. "… A ROBBERY!"

Three magenta Squids were sliding on the floor, coming from the end of the corridor. Bars wonkily advanced in front of the girl, showing his Roller at his enemies.

"Go get some ink, girl!" He frowned. "Like, I got waves of pwnage to serve!"

"That would be as easy as losing weight, while running and eating burgers at the same time!" Her arms opened wide.

The Squid in the middle accelerates, before jumping against the boy. As Bars' arms moved backwards, the Squid already hit his stomach and pushed him down: Greta got hit on her shoulders by the boy's head, as she fell backwards on the blue ink. The Roller weapon flew almost near the hall's entrance.

"Oof!" He gave a slap to the Squid, pushing his foe away from his stomach. "Get off me!"

Another Squid jumped up, before landing towards Bars and spinning rapidly. Greta emerged from the ink, as she spit some of it and drenched her mouth. The Squid hit Bars' head, bouncing off him and impacting over Greta's chest. Her Splattershot left her tentacle, simply landing on the blue ink close to her.

Bars rose his posture, watching the third Squid jumping over his face. He caught his rival, as he fell back down. He kept waving around, while grasping the uncontrollable Squid.

"Chill out!" He rolled to the right, stopping with his stomach aimed down and pushing the Squid against the floor.

"Ow! Ow!" The Squid squeezed his eyes.

Another Squid charged at the boy, hitting him on the side. The Squid bounced off, watching Bars still pushing down his rival while keeping his previous pose.

"Is this all you got?!"

The bounced Squid turned the head over Greta… observing her taking charging attacks on her stomach, by the second magenta Squid. She yawned loudly, as the attacking Squid stopped and panted loudly.

"I'm a good wall, aren't I?!" The girl grabbed the Splattershot nearby, pointing it over the Squid. "A wall who can also shoot you back!"

"Help!" The Squid's irises shrunk, as she turned behind and slid away. "She is invincible!"

"Like, for real?!" Bars rose his head over-

SLIP!

The captured Squid slid away, immediately turning over the hallway and dashing like mad!

"Let's call reinforcements!" The lone Squid followed the running ones, diving inside the large ink trail left by the two. "Quick!"

Greta pushed her tentacles down, lifting herself off the blue ink and standing on the floor. She was smiling widely.

"Are you alright, girl?!" Bars moved closer to her, as he sported a sad expression.

"Are there any doubts about it?" Greta's arms opened wide, as she chuckled. "Those wannabes weren't even been able to make us retreat!"

"Like, they did pushed us back…" He shrugged.

"Not the same as retreating, since I wasn't even thinking to take cover!" She nodded. "And the same is for you!"

"Girl… how come you said wannabes?" Bars folded his arms.

"Have you noticed something odd about those Squids…?" She rose her tentacle, waving it back and forth. "They were fighting very similarly to a certain friend of ours…"

"Uhm!" He closed his eyes. "They were fighting like Hunter!" He nodded. "What about it?"

"Eh eh! Hunry's fighting style isn't something you can pull off with ease! Also, considering the fact he's somewhere in this building and the same is for those Shrine Squids…" She took some steps forward, passing the boy. "… makes me think that we also have to play as detectives in this land of Squids!"
