"I'm so pleased by your deeds!" Greta walked away, as her free tentacle wrapped around Bars. "I don't even know how to describe such moment in better words!"
The two Inklings walked out of the room, as they turned to their left.
"Don't sweat on it, girl!" Bars blushed, while chuckling. "Like, it was nothing I couldn't handle!"
The magenta Squid kept observing the two, while leaning against the wall… then, the Squid slid silently after them.
"Whoa!" Greta lowered her head, as her mouth opened wide for a moment. "Are you seeing this?!"
"Like, what?" Bars lowered his head too. "Oh…!"
Their feet were standing on a green ink trail. Greta kept walking in place, as she laughed shortly and loudly.
"Look at that, spongeheads!" She grinned widely. "This form laughs at your puny ink trails!"
"Good!" Bars lifted his Roller on his shoulder, while simply smiling.
The magenta Squid stopped, as the eyes expanded. Greta moved closer to the boy, as the Squid immediately dived back in.
"Although, I was already laughing earlier… in fact, I was laughing more than any of the jokes we pulled on Mr. Shollen!" Her mouth downturned. "If it wasn't for you, my jaw would have been in another location!"
"More like another castle!" He laughed loudly.
"Ha ha!" Greta patted his shoulders, while smiling. "Let's get some move, now! Those squishies might get too many ideas in their minds…"
"Yeah!" Bars lifted his Roller, as he walked forward. "Like, we are gonna throw 'em all out of here!"
The girl kept watching Bars…
"… you are sure a shy one, aren't you?"
"Uh?" He turned his shoulders behind, as his mouth opened. "Ya said, girl?"
"Eh eh eh…" Slowly, Greta turned behind with her eyelids lowered to the middle, watching the magenta ink trail behind. "… what's happenin', little Squid?"
…
"Aaaaaww, look how shy the Squid is…!" She snickered, as her feet began walking over the magenta ink. "… wonder if dived Squids can also be stomped…"
Several sweat drops appeared on the top of the magenta ink trail's tip. The girl was smiling widely… as more sweat appeared on the ink…
Fup!
"How dare you thinking to stomp on me?!" The Squid semi-emerged vertically from the ink, until the bottom part of her eyes, as she frowned. "Are you even capable of having respect towards the others?!"
Greta's eyes expanded, as her mouth flattened.
"Mirii?!" She bended forward, putting her tentacles each on one knee. "What are you doing under that ink?!"
"Excuse me?!" Her irises shrunk. "How do you…"
"Can't you recognize my voice, o' shorty genius?!" She lifted her posture, opening her arms. "That's Greta speaking!"
"And this is Bars comin' too!" The boy stopped on the girl's left side.
The Squid alternate her sight between Bars and Greta…
"Greta… Bars?!" She swum slightly backwards. "… those names are causing some sort of emotional effect in my mind…"
"Must be happiness!" Greta's eyes closed, while smiling. "We are your friends, after"
"No… the effect is anger and frustration!" The Squid frowned. "As if I'm talking with two idiots!"
"… yep." Greta slowly nodded. "That's Mirii alright… not even hypnosis can take off her opinions…"
"Wh-wh!" Several veins popped out on Mirii's head. "Grrrrr! You have earned an exemplary punishment, because of your inappropriate conclusions over my regards!"
She dived back inside her ink.
"Ooooh ho ho! Look at me shaking over a little Squid like you…!" Greta rose her tentacles, as she chuckled with her mouth closed. "What are you gonna do to us? Rub our shoes?!"
…
"… curses." Several sweat appeared on the ink.
"Girl, like… how about you squeeze out some more memories about us…?" Bars' mouth rose. "It can't just be a jam of madness and havoc…!"
"Your names… those are making me uncomfortable! Weak! Pathetic!" Mirii's voice came from the ink. "The more I hear those, the more my patience gets thinner…"
"And what about Hunley?" Greta grins a bit.
Mirii rose back from her ink, showing her enlarged eyes.
"Hu-Hu-Hunley?!"
"Friends of him too!" Greta nodded. "How about thinking of that name instead?"
…
The Squid's face… frowned.
"You are more dangerous than I thought…" Her eyes squeezed a bit. "… it's inconceivable to just back away at this point."
She jumped out from the ink, while standing vertically.
"You are a threat to us. And just like I always do with any threats I see…" Her tentacle pointed at Greta. "… I must exterminate you."
"You got madder at that?!" Greta rose her tentacles in front of her shoulders, as sweat jumped out from her head. "Come on, Mirii! How do you think we know his name?! He is a kind Squid who"
"Show me proof of such friendship, you imbecile!" Mirii's tentacles folded. "For all I care, I'm seeing two unidentifiable creatures who know about my and Hunley's name, while they are attacking the rest of the Squids in here!"
"Ask me anything about him!" Greta swallowed silently. "I'm betting my contact lens that I will"
"No questions… just facts coming from your poisonous mouth!" Mirii growled. "Now!"
Greta turned her head over Bars… as Mirii's head shook.
"My patience has reached its limits." She fell on her back, pointing her head at Greta. "No more information-gathering from such primitive animals… have at you!" She dashed towards the girl.
As Mirii jumped, Greta ducked: the Squid passed above her, as she landed on the floor and flipped behind at the same time, leaving behind a magenta ink trail. Mirii slid on the ink trail, diving inside it and moving in the direction of Greta while forming ink waves around her.
"Do I have to stomp her, girl?!" Bars jumped in front of Greta, opening his upper limbs wide.
"Do more stopping than stomping!" Her tentacles went each on one of Bars' shoulders.
Mirii bounced off the ink, hitting the boy's stomach.
"Oof!" He puffed his cheeks.
Mirii fell back inside her ink, as she quickly emerged and had her irises spinning out of control. She shook her head and blinked her eyes. Bars swung his Roller over Mirii, as blue ink hit the top of her head: she yelped, springing backwards and sliding away.
"I said stopping, not splatting!" Greta pushed his shoulders, while frowning. "You almost got her!"
"But girl!" Bars frowned too, as he turned behind. "What if she remembers us once we splat her?"
Mirii stopped near a closed door, turning her sight over the two Inklings.
"Do you wanna risk that?!" Her fist knocked his forehead. "Might as well hitting her with a hammer: she 'might' get her memories back, while being a paper Squid!"
The Squid squeezed her eyes… as she slowly began sliding over Greta.
"But who said she's gonna be a paper, girl?!" Bars pushed Greta a bit. "Like, talkings can't get her ears to open more, ya know!"
Mirii's sliding speed accelerated, almost touching the cushion on her right side.
"And you are believing that beatings will make her resonate more instead?! She will grow more reasons to hate you!"
She kept accelerating more and more… until Mirii hits Bars' back, as he impacted on the girl and fell down with her.
"Ouch, man!" His eyes squeezed.
"Gggghh!" Greta's tentacles were trying to push him out of the way. "Get off, Barsyyyy…! Coff coff!" Her tongue stick out. "Your affection is flattening meee…!"
Mirii jumped on his back, as she stomped with her head's tip after each jump.
"Ow! Ow!" Bars rose his posture instantly.
The Squid bounced off the back, as she bended on herself… and dashed over his legs! He lazily turned behind, as Mirii passed in between his legs and was now aiming at Greta, while her eyes expanded. The girl's shoulders were already lifted, as she observed the incoming Squid.
"What the shell!" Greta lifted her right leg, hitting Mirii from below.
The Squid glided past Greta, landing in a roll and hitting the wall nearby.
"Nice shot there!" Bars grinned.
"Shut up, Bars!" Greta lifted her posture, now sitting on the floor.
Mirii was moaning for a brief while, before shaking her head.
"… this is far from over, you imbeciles!" She slid the opposite way. "I will be back!"
"No you don't!" Greta sprung herself on her feet… only to stumble and falling now on her stomach. "Darn those leeegs!"
Mirii turned on the distant right corner. Bars walked closer to the girl, grabbing her and lifting her up on her feet.
"We couldn't have a form who offers a bit more mobility, hmm?! What a ripoff!" Her free tentacle shook off her clothing. "And now we are back to square one… no wait, it's square zero actually!"
"Like… why?" Bars scratched his head.
"Because our friend thinks to see enemies instead!" Her right eye closed, waving her tentacle at him. "We gotta find the source of all that madness reigning over her mind!"
"… and… we…" He turned around. "… we check all those rooms in order to do that…?"
"We simply reach the madSquid who caused this whole mess!" She patted his shoulder once, walking past him. "Got it, big boy?"
"I sure did!" He quickly walked after her. "Can't wait to find some of those protein foods to chew on, though… this whole action just racked up some hunger in my stomach!"
Th-those fools… their invincible form is the only reason why they survived my precise attacks! They are absolutely nothing without it! They are absolutely nothing… … which is why I must find a conceivable way of getting rid of their ridiculous advantage!
But how?! Their slow movement doesn't help my case at all…! Should I lure them somewhere? Where I could bring such prehistoric beings…? … my back is still hurting… actually, I'm hurt all over the place. It wouldn't be a bad idea to heal myself… if th-those close-minded Inkling-wannabes weren't around this building!
How those insolents were called anyway?! Bars and Greta respectively?! … Bars… … Greta… … their voices do not sound new to me too… … what's this impression I'm witnessing?! Did I… met those two before…? … I'm not sure… … maybe Hunley knows them… this might be a great occasion to talk to him about them, while healing myself back. I wonder if he feels better, now…
