A giant black blob, with multiple eyes in every single spot, was slowly rolling towards the two Inklings…

Ouch! You are pressing on my head!

Don't hit my eyes!

The black ball of Squids was leaving a black ink trail behind, as it hit and flattened each cushion located on its way. Greta took a step backwards, as her irises were as big as dots.

"… you all got nuts just to splat us?!" Her head turned over Bars. "Let's get our feet out of here!"

"But girl… we are invincible!" He grinned, as his arms opened wide and his sight was aimed at the incoming enemies. "Like, that thing is just a ball to kick off!"

"You stupid!" Greta grabbed his shoulders, as she tried to pull him. "You can't let your optimism think that this new attack isn't going to bruise us!"

"Don't forget that this Roller has still some ink in its arsenal." Bars pushed the girl back, as he walked forward. "Like, look at how I'm going to make this thing go boom!" He chuckled.

"Darn it, Barsy!" She stomped, as a stream of tears fell from her eyes. "WHY YOU NEVER LISTEN TO ME?!"

Get that stupid idiot!

I'm going in!

A black Squid jumped off the black ball, as he slid on the floor and aimed at the walking boy.

Come back here!

Bars grinned, as he lifted his Roller high in the air.

That guy is ruining everything!

He swung his weapon, as blue ink flew out of it and landed on the charging Squid: the enemy stopped, completely covered in blue ink. He was moaning, as his irises were spinning out of control.

"Way to go, risky boy!" Greta jumped, as she smiled and threw her fist in thin air.

"Eh eh!" Bars lifted his Roller once more. "Gotta finish the job, now!"

The Squid shook his head, as he watched the Roller pointing at the ceiling. He turned behind and dashed away, before another wave of blue ink hit that part of the floor he was standing on. The Squid was now leaving a blue ink trail behind…

Stop! Stop!

You have a different color than ours!

"Ooooohh, yes…!" Greta grinned, with her eyelids lowered to the middle. "Ha ha ha! A pop-corn moment for sure!"

"The ink is melting me alive!" Small tears formed on the Squid's eyes. "Let me in!"

Go melt somewhere else!

The ball of black ink was gradually stopping… as the Squid jumped over it, diving inside from the bottom-middle part.

Help!

Ow, ow!

You are even stupider than that stupid idiot, you idiot!

Bars was walking towards the ball, while still keeping his Roller upwards.

"Hey Squids… are you ready to meet Mr. Squish-a-lot?" He chuckled. "He has plenty of squishy stories to tell…!"

… hey, I feel better!

"WHAT?!" Greta bended forward, as she frowned.

Really?!

Nice!

Bars swung his Roller, as blue ink flew and hit the black ink ball, leaving a huge blue ink stain on its middle. The ball was pushed backwards, rolling rapidly in the same direction.

"Soccer twist!" Greta shook her fists, as smiled and lowered her eyebrows. "Look at that thing go!"

The ball hit the wall at the end of the hallway, quickly bouncing off it and standing still on impact. All the sudden, black Squids were all sliding off the ball, as the object was melting just as fast. Soon, the floor was filled with black Squids who were groaning and yelping…

"That would teach them a history lesson!" She folded her arms, grinning widely.

"Yo-you aren't done with us…" The black Squid standing in front of the army slammed his tentacles on the floor. "Th-that attack was nothing…"

"Go for it, Barsy!" Greta jumped a bit, as she kept striking her tentacle up. "Finish them off!"

"As you wish, girl!" Bars lowered his Roller, putting it on the floor.

Its nap was sporting a whitish color, showing small holes in lines.

…

"Oh… like…" A sweat drop appears on Bars' head. "… I ran out of ink…"

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Greta's tentacles went on the top of her head, as her eyes expanded and her knees bended.

His weapon doesn't have ink anymore!

It's our chance!

Black Squids sprinted towards the Inklings, while some of them were going zigzag in between the tired allies. Bars kept chuckling, as he lifted his weapon and took some shy steps backwards…

"… mommy." He trembled.

"Hunley… I don't understand…"

Mirii's tentacle was caressing the top of a green Squid's head. He was lying on a small, flat mattress located in the middle of a room, which had a window on the right side of the wall. Lunar rays were penetrating through the window, hitting the two Squids and the floor.

"I brought you the Inkling water you wanted… I brought you in the most relaxing room of this structure…" She sighed. "… why are you still suffering like this?" Her eyes closed. "What else I have to do…?"

From near the room door, Kelly appeared on thin air. Her eyes were watery and her hands were grasping a large brush with the tip colored in blue ink.

"Mirii…"

The magenta Squid gasped, as she turned behind and expanded her eyes.

"Who are you?!" She frowned. "How did you enter inside this room without using the door?!"

The little girl sniffed.

"… I'm Kelly… don't you recognize me…?"

Mirii's eyes squeezed a bit.

"You are one of those fools who keep trying to take Hunley away from me… hmpf!" She slid away from her friend, pointing her head over her enemy. "You better leave us alone…"

Kelly brought her brush closer to her chest, as her mouth trembled.

"… I-I can't leave Master Hun alone… wh-whoever you are!" A tear fell from her right eye. "He's our guide… w-we are lost without his presence…!"

"Enough." Mirii growled for a short moment. "You, Shrine fiends, have kept Hunley away from us for way too long… it's a matter of time before"

"Master Hun needs the Shrine more than your clan of monsters!" Kelly began crying, as she bended forward and frowned. "He is too kind and gentle to be a monster just like you!"

"You disrespectful little creature…!" Mirii's head shook. "Our leader is right… your mouths are filled with nothing but hatred! Your opinions harm more than thousands storms…"

Suddenly, she dashed forward.

"I will not let you spread your hatred towards us, over the rest of the world!"

Mirii jumped, as Kelly swung her brush and hit her on the head: the Squid flew backwards, falling back in her magenta ink.

"You are the ones who spread all this hate!" Kelly showed her teeth. "Hate for everything right in the world!"

"… hypocrite…" Mirii's eyes emerged from the ink. "If there is one thing I truly hate… is an hypocrite like you!"

The Squid emerged from the ink, sliding towards the small girl once more. Kelly swung her brush, as blue ink came from its tip, landing in front of her feet. Mirii stopped, before bouncing up in the air and spinning on herself.

Her head hit Kelly, making the little lady fell on her back. Her hands opened, as the brush flew to the left side. Once Mirii landed on the floor, she sprung immediately after. She resumed her spin, while aiming at Kelly.

The tip of her head hit… the floor. The Squid fell on her back, as her irises were the ones spinning rapidly! Kelly reappeared near the brush, as she bended her knees down and picked it up with both her hands. She began walking towards the hurt Squid…

"One more step and the Squid gets it."

Immediately, Kelly turned her head over the source of the male voice… as her eyes expanded.
