Bars was lying on the bed with his arms stretching sideways, his eyes closed and his mouth wide open. He was snoring loudly with saliva coming out from below his mouth. His socks were balancing on the bed's edge, only being pushed accidentally by Bars' feet.
Knock! Knock!
Bars answered with a louder snore, keeping his previous pose without hesitations.
Knock! Knock!
The boy flipped on the right side, rubbing the bed some more before relaxing and continuing his sleepy activity.
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
"Open the door, Barsy! TELL ME YOU ARE IN THERE, BARSY!"
Greta's words penetrated inside Bars' mind through his ears, as his eyelids opened just as fast.
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!
Bars lifted himself up, mumbling something during the process and watching the sligthly visible door with suspicion.
"TELL MEEEE..!"
"Girl! Like!" Bars expressed a frown, throwing away all the sleepiness lurking on his face. "Hang in there!"
He kicked the air, before jumping off the bed and running after the closed entrance. His hands leaned on the door handle as a last-stand grab, before opening it wide and revealing the sobbing girl, showing herself in a pajama attire.
"What's going on?!" His inspecting vibe drew him into analyzing the calm and elegant hallway, containing a stone statue of a jumping Squid.
He received a hug before he would know it. He felt her warm arms pressing on his shoulders and her head who found comfort on his chest.
"You..." Her eyes closed, sighing in enjoyment. "... you don't have any idea how much happiness is getting through my veins, right now..."
"Ha ha ha!" Bars chuckled it up, as he patted and caressed her soft head. "Like, considering the circumstances you are hugging me this much... I would say that I know pretty well how to bring you a smile!"
"Barsy!" She distanced herself from the boy. "What was that ship all about?! You really think to manipulate Greta as easily as your precious, little weights?!"
She folded her arms, lowering her head and still looking at him with anger in place.
"Pfui! Give me a break!" She briefly shook her head. "Even after centuries, you are still the same porridge-brew numbnut I met in the high school days..."
Bars reacted with a raised mouth, as his mind mirrored his sight.
"... the same porridge-brew numbnut I would never leave behind."
She closed her lips, sending her mouth over his cheek and forming a kiss that made her blush like mad. With feline instincts, she backed and casually tried to hide her flaming passion running strong on her face, with her bare hands.
"D-don't get any mysteries out of this unexplainable event..." She stopped herself for a second. "Sending request of faceless mask..."
She thought and thought...
"... request overruled by me not wondering enough!" Her hands pressed even more, exposing the brightness of that red color running amok on her face.
"Like… what can I say?" Bars shrugged. "Wish all mornings start with a kiss from you." His mouth failed at hiding his sincere smile. "Guess I will take your gift for what it is…!"
"Thank turfness your easygoing nature still runs strong in your style!" Her arms opened, ready to bring another hug. "It might not look like it, but it can really come in handy when Greta pushes the pedal a liiil' bit too much…!"
"Speaking of pedals, when are we gonna cruise through the roads?" His arms folded, somewhat channeling his question. "The big beast is considering the garage as a prison, you know…!"
"Our heads are called in another location not too far from here." Her arms changed their minds, now simply letting her wrists resting on her sides. "We can't leave a black screen on tonight's TV screens across Inkopolis!"
"That's right." He nodded with full certainty. "But girl, having fun is a primary need we gotta satisfy!"
"Yes, yes... it's not like our schedules are super-tight or something! In the old times, I could only dream about such versatility." Her forefinger waved in front of the boy, as her thoughts composed a different speech. "But in any case, have you seen the news on today's TV news report? The one led by the Squid Sisters, believe it or not!"
"Hmm..." Bars began searching through his memories. "... not really..."
"No?" Greta waved her hand during her speech. "They were mumbling something about a happy Squid land who got some destructions in place..."
"Happy Squid Land...?" Bars wondered even more through his memories. "Like... wasn't it the same place where we had another journey to add in our list of crazy stuff happenin' in this country?"
Greta enlarged her eyes, nodding in approval and pointing her forefinger as a result.
"So, that's why my legs feel all that tired up!" She chuckled at her own words. "They did their work!"
"Yeah!" Bars joined the laughs, as he added a thumb up. "Although, what was it all about...?"
"Probably a collection of details who shouldn't be considered..." Greta's forehead felt ticklish, as her forefinger was almost tempted at touching it. "Really, we were like some sort of repulsive rejects who tried to save the world!"
"Which we did!" His optimistic grin shined through his mouth. "Wasn't that fresh?"
"You bet it is!" She leaned forward, exposing her fully-flexed 60 degree back. "Although, we were better off playing walls with those wobbly legs..."
"Like... how we turned back into normal, anyway?" The thinking young man scratched his working head. "That's like... the non-remembering detail we still have to sort out."
"... good question for a Squid who just turned their computer on!" She shrugged, although the desire for laughter was crawling out her lips. "For some reason I remember... us running away from the nightmare we were living through. After that... I remember seeing Squids being captured with nets and stuff."
Bars received the girl's words, mentally formulating the only, possible way to answer such vague memory...
"... wild!" He nodded in confirmation.
"That particular event will need some mystic consultations... together with a relaxing hot bath." She smiled at her idea. "But for now, let's just check on ourselves and see if we are in good shape enough to pay another visit to the studios."
"Good idea!" Bars was seeing nothing but agreements, waiting patiently before focusing completely on weights to lift... "How are we gonna do that...?" His hands were itching, with the fingers almost bending on their own.
"Leave it to me!" Greta patted his shoulder, as her smile emanated that feeling of charming leadership she often uses on her friends. "And while I'm at it, I have some Project Neo package to send over a certain Miss Perfection that really wants to complete her collection of evidences..."
