Greta threw herself on her bed, landing on her bottom and almost bouncing off unintentionally. She was grasping her smartphone, already brought near her ear and releasing its tuuuuing sound. Her back was tempted to fully get down and-
Greta.
"Sheesh, you know that winter is in hibernation for a while…" Her irises rolled.
I have work to do. What do you seek?
"Ah, nothing special…" Greta kept her laughter in. "Just some photos I wanted to share… you know how much you looove"
Greta. The point.
"… sigh…" Her back fell down on the bed, finding comfort on the soft surface. "You know that we went over Nonhappy Squid Land to rescue you and"
She gasped, as her eyes went immediately wide. Her gasp ended in a semi-choke, as she coughed and lifted herself in surprise.
"What dasquid is wrong with my memory storage?! I completely forgot we were trying to save you two in the first place!"
You did?!
"You bet your smartphone we did!" Greta stood up, forming a fist with her free hand. "And I'm pretty sure we also meet up at some point!"
... I recall your voices… but for some reason, my mind is picturing the most heinous beasts ever conceived in Squid kind!
"Ha ha!" Greta grinned, as her left hand slammed and pressed her left hip hard. "Thanks a lot for that, Miss Delicacy! No sea-elephant could have come closer to your crushing results!"
You… you were the heinous beasts?!
"Ha ha ha ha!" A vein popped out from her forehead, as she found another reason to press her hip even more. "Would you like to be called Miss Shorty for today?"
If you dare to do that, I will make sure that you will learn a lesson
"Ooooh, so I'm the student who has to learn from the no-nonsense teacher who can't even hear herself when she talks to the others…!" Some chuckles left her mouth, as she shook her head. "You are lucky that insults make me laugh this much… would have been a snarky, little spongehead who takes offense on names, you would have found yourself talking to the phone instead of me!"
… Greta, you know well that I'm incapable of insulting my friends without a legit reason. If you were listening my words carefully, you would conclude that I was just attempting to uncover the mystery surrounding
"Mirii, the world isn't as obvious as you think." Greta rose her head, as her lungs calmed themselves down. "Sometimes, it's just better to think your calculations in your head rather than mentioning every single one of them to the others… if you can do it, that is." She shrugged. "You follow that and you will notice how many more Squids will come closer to you and start having a chat. A landmine-free one for sure!"
Hmpf! It's not a matter of being 'gentler' with the others… rather, it's a matter of using the logic in all the situations. Always.
"Figured you wouldn't dare to think more about my lesson… whatever!" Her left hand caressed her left tentacle in a quick rhythm. "How are you, by the way? Feeling better?"
I woke up with some back pains… while I was under my other form.
"Hmm?" Greta wondered about something.
Because I have a schedule to follow, I will explain the situation in more details later in the day. Just so you know, Hunley is fine as well… and the whole building is under investigation by the police.
Greta opened her left arm, inhaling plenty of air at the same time.
"What about their"
Nnnnggh! I wasted too much time with this discussion! We must end the call and get back to work! Especially me!
"Hold on, rushy!" She twisted behind, casually grabbing her right elbow. "Don't forget good ol' Greta has some photos for your collection!"
Photos about what…? Wh! Project Neo photos?!
"Ding!" Greta sincerely smiled. "Aaaawww, the little Squid is growing up so fast… she understands everything in less than a"
DON'T YOU DARE BRINGING THAT WHOLE NONSENSE AGAIN!
"Uuuufff!" She brought her free hand in front of her chest, as commanded by her reflexes. "That sense of humor you got needs some cleaning…!"
My sophisticated sense of humor needs to be told in front of a wide public… but for now it must be stored properly, because I HAVE NO MORE TIME TO WASTE ON THIS CURSED PHONE!
"Then, cross the finish line!" Her voice was filled with hope and sincerity…! "Tell me how you want to receive those photos…!"
… meet Chie. She owns a computer who's capable of storing those photos. Let her save the evidence.
"Oh… oooooohhh!" Greta chuckled, as she grinned in proportion of her laughter. "You know how to brew some strategic plans…!"
Now I have to go. Deliver the photos as soon as possible, Greta… do it now.
"Sure, suuuure!" She let out another chuckle. "No need to keep a weapon on my throat!"
… Grrrreeeetaaa…
"Oooooh, don't turn into a sea-werewolf in front of me!" She threw all her air off in complete exasperation. "Just watch me deliver the photos with style, ok?!"
… hmpf. See you later, Greta.
"Bye…" Her irises rolled, as she relaxed her shoulders.
Her grasping hand also went down, assisting her smartphone's screen turning into a collection of several icons. She smiled a bit, shaking her head in a similar fashion.
"… do it now? Naaah!" She laughed, storing her smartphone away. "It's a such easy-peasy job… I could do it in five seconds!"
She walked towards the door, bringing her hands behind her neck.
"Why all the hurry when you have to solve the heavier stuff first, before throwing off those pebbles? It's so basic… … guess Miss Perfection doesn't live around 'the basics'."
She yakked it up, before opening the door and leaving the door behind.
A car was speeding through the road, surrounded by grass plains and far-away trees. Bars was behind the steering wheel, maneuvering the driving tools while keeping an eye on the road. Greta had her feet on the right side of the dashboard, looking over the flat sea and the few vessels standing by.
"… you wouldn't believe what Miss Perfection told me before…" She rubbed the backrest with her back, looking for a quick sense of comfort.
"Like… she told you to not make her waste her own time or somethin'?" He smiled, seeing Mirii mentally.
"You are getting better at this, big boy!" Greta slapped his right shoulder, laughing loudly.
"Ha ha! She is an open book in front of us." He shrugged.
"You bet she is!" Her head shook, before inspecting Bars' head. "I told her about some photos we took yesterday… and she asked me to give those over Chie from the Shrine."
"But that wasn't really what I said…" His head turned towards her face. "Like, did I miss something?"
"It was basically that, Barsy." Her forefinger pointed forward. "But keep an eye on the road, rather than on my contact lenses."
"'kay!" He returned his head forward, without thinking about it. "Sooooo… I still said the same thing?"
"Consider that as such…" She yawned, scratching her stomach and looking away. "Wish it wasn't recording time, today… but work is work." Her forefinger was sliding on her stomach, forming imaginary circles on it. "Luckily, flexibility is on our side…"
"Yeah!" He nodded more than twice. "Like, we might as well not go inside the studios at all!"
"Ah-ah-aaah!" Her tilting forefinger accompanied her voice tone. "Work is work. If we abuse the advantage, be prepared to see how magic can make all the flexibility… disappear!" Her arms stretched circularly. "Woosh!"
"Ehm…" His face went paler… for just a brief second. "By the way, have you done it, girl?"
"Done it?" Mystery wrapped her thoughts, as she aimed her attention over the boy.
"Whatever task she asked you to do." Nothing much changed from his expression.
"Oh… pffff! That stuff is waiting on a line!" She chuckled, carrying her hands behind her neck. "As soon as our tourist needs are satisfied, you will see"
"Girl, like… you still think we are tourists inside that studio?" He looked at the girl, again, with his mouth downturned. "Didn't you said"
"Barsy." She sighed. "Not now. We have to-EEEEEKK!"
"Whoa!" He pressed a pedal all the way down.
SCCRREEEEEECCH!
The girl managed to retreat her legs, as she pushed her back forward! The car stopped: a large, sea-goat was jumping past the road, landing on the grass and start eating it immediately. Groaning a bit, Greta lifted her posture back…
"Girl, are you ok?" His hand went immediately behind her shoulders.
"Don't you stare at me like that!" Her left hand pushed his back three times. "Make this thing walk already!"
The vehicle began marching slowly, as the two Inklings kept looking at the animal on the side.
"… they sure have done NOTHING about this, hmm?!" She slammed her hips, while frowning. "Guess they will need another visit from yours truly!"
Just behind her feet… her smartphone was sitting on the car floor.
