Chapter Eleven

Kagome did her best to busy herself in some last minute posts for work. Every question she answered angered her as she felt like a hypocrite who couldn't even handle her own problems. She looked up at the boys competively playing basketball when she heard Rin blow her whistle for the third time in the game.

"What? It's defense!" Inuyasha yelled out. He couldn't believe how off of his game he'd been lately. A good game with his friends was supposed to be simple and fun but here was Rin, throwing in unnecessary rules. He ran his fingers through his hair trying to keep the sweaty mop out of his face.

"It's a foul dumbass!" Rin shouted over him. "Hiro gets two shots."

"Fuck you that's a bullshit call! He's not even bleeding." Inuyasha growled, glaring at Rin. Sesshoumaru sent a warning growl Inuyasha's way that immediately checked his attitude. What was with every one lately getting on his back? It had been like this for the past two weeks and it was quickly getting annoying. And since when were Sesshomaru and Rin in agreement?

Inuyasha shook his head and called Akashi over to sub for him as he walked towards the patio. He ran his fingers through his hair once more.

"You mind braiding it for me?" Inuyasha asked, plopping on the bench next to Kagome. She blinked at him and gave him the laptop to begin braiding his silver locks into one big messy french braid.

"Can I answer some of these?" Inuyasha was already half way through a response typing away at her laptop. Kagome merely shrugged her shoulders and continued to braid. Inuyasha peeked over his shoulder quizzically at her. She really wasn't going to fight? That was no fun.

"Oh come on. Not you too. Everyone else is already treating me like crap. Talk." Inuyasha pushed.

"I don't really have much to say...hmm... shall we do another so-called lesson today?" Kagome finally replied finishing up the braid.

"Not much to say? Cut the crap Kagome and just talk to me already. I know your head is swarming with things to say to me... you just don't know where to start." Inuyasha simply said, still typing away at her keyboard. "I swear I do your job better than you do. Half of these people are hopeless."

Kagome stood up silently and headed inside towards her room. Inuyasha was so into his written response that he almost missed it when she went inside. He closed the laptop and followed her. He noticed how briskly she tried to walk as if he wouldn't be able to track her scent even if she could go faster than him. How cute.

"Stop running away. Just fucking talk already." Inuyasha whined while closing her door. "Look. No ones around to judge you. Just talk."

Kagome laid on her bed and groaned. "You seem to be in a chattering mood. YOU talk. Since you do my job so well, tell me oh great one. What do I do with this mess you've dragged me in?"

"You want lemonade?" Sesshomaru asked as he offered Rin a glass.

"Is it poisoned?" Rin cautiously took a sip.

"I don't need lemonade to poison you Rin." He smirked.

"Noted," Rin said before taking a larger gulp. She took a seat. "What was up with you taking my side today? And even the other day when he and I fought over the Range Rover. Are you getting soft?"

"Would you prefer me hard?" Sesshomaru teased.

Rin glanced at him and hopped off her barstool. "You're doing it again.." She sighed while walking away. It was time to go. She never thought a little teasing could get this far. She was sure they were both just mutually bored but times like these always made her question if boredom was still a valid excuse.

Every time Kagome would approach her asking what the deal was between her and Sesshomaru she kept it honest. They hadn't done anything sexual and it was all purely entertainment. But every day it seemed they got closer and closer to crossing a line that either one had yet to define. She could hear him following her.

As she approached the hallway near the library he pinned her to the wall. All she could do was watch as he descended to the right side of her neck. "Is there something else you'd rather I be doing then?"

Rin fumbled with her answer internally. She couldn't understand how she kept getting cornered so easily with no way out. Week by week she found her body betraying her mind's orders.

"Yea.. just admit you like me so you can go back to being normal." Rin smirked. She tried her best to display as much control and confidence as she could. Never did she want him to know how much he made her lose it.

"Normal?" Sesshomaru questioned. As far as he knew he hadn't slipped out of character even for a second. For all she should know, this WAS normal. He kissed her neck briefly before gazing in her eyes to comprehend her statement. Rin bit her lip to stifle a moan. She watched his lips form into a seductive smile that made her inwardly curse. He could smell her arousal and there was nothing she could do to hide it.

"Come on," she whispered. She grabbed his hand and led him to the nearby bathroom. He pushed her against the counter and pulled her in for a kiss and she bit his lip in defiance as she always did. He growled in annoyance. That was one line Rin did her best not to cross.

"Why do you always pull back when you know-"

"Why can't you admit you have a thing for me?" Rin interrupted. "A month ago you could care less and now-"

"And now what?" Sesshomaru asked annoyed. He tried to lean in for another kiss and she flicked the light switch on. Sesshomaru peered into his reflection. His eyes were blood shot and his instincts were in complete control. He stared at himself confused trying to remember the exact moment his demon took over.

"..you're doing it again. You're losing control."

"I'm not sure of anything anymore." Kagome groaned. "How are you so calm about this?"

Inuyasha just kept spinning in the computer chair. It wasn't that he was calm. He was quite the opposite but unlike Kagome, he's had practice at hiding his feelings from her. Years and years of practice. What was he supposed to do? Assume she held no animosity towards him and just go for it? Or stick to the plan as agreed and get her out of here as soon as possible? He was becoming dizzy and stopped his movements.

"I don't want you unhappy princess. And every outcome I come up with in my head leaves you with some form of sadness and I am sick of holding that burden as its usually my fault. When you decide how you want to proceed, let me know. Until then, I have no choice but to be calm." Inuyasha explained.

Up to me? How could that asshole dump this entire decision on me? Kagome inwardly screamed. Was this supposed to be just fun? Or was it supposed to build into something more? They both had their involvements as well. Kagome wasn't sure she could make such a selfish decision.

"What is it that you want?" Kagome finally built up the courage to ask. "Honestly."

"Oh princess, I don't think you'd want to know. Let's just leave this up to you okay?" He chuckled. "I HONESTLY would prefer your happiness opposed to my wants."

"I can handle the truth, Inuyasha. What do you want?" She tried again.

"To have my cake and eat it too." He smirked.
