On with the story..

Thirteen

"All this room my dad has on this private jet and you choose to sit next to me..." Inuyasha mumbled from under his blanket. They were already in the air and she spent the take off near his father as she usually did. But instead of moving near his mother once they were steady, he smelled her coming his way near the back.

"Mom's sleeping and Sesshomaru doesn't want me anywhere near him." Kagome explained. This was definitely a last resort and she hated flying without real company. She took a deep breath and lifted his blanket to see his face. "Scoot over."

Inuyasha gave her an annoyed growl as she allowed the light to touch his face. He moved over and allowed her a space on the couch to lie down as well. He heard her whisper a small thanks as returned the blanket over their heads. He hugged her from behind in acknowledgement and kept his eyes closed. "You know eventually you'll have to grow up and learn to fly alone."

"I know... Private jets just don't seem as safe as commercial. Wow...I sound like a nut case. You're right. I gotta shape up or Kikyou might hate me." Kagome admitted. "Speaking of which, are you nervous?"

At the thought of Kikyou, Inuyasha finally opened his eyes. Kagome was right. There were a number of things Kikyou would have a hard time understanding about Kagome and the things she gets away with. "What would I have to be nervous about?" He asked. Besides you ruining every chance I could have with her, He inwardly thought.

"Well," Kagome started as she turned in his arms to face him. "You weren't expecting to meet her until December. And its July. We haven't gone through all your concerns you were worried about. Are there any last minute changes you want to attempt?" She searched his eyes as he realized her point. Inuyasha looked her over trying to memorize this moment. He never planned to meet Kikyou this early and doing so would mean Kagome was free to go home. He only dragged her in to help with his initial contact with Kikyou as well as tips with maintaining the spark but he felt like he was about lose Kagome yet again in the process.

"How do I keep you while pursuing her?" Inuyasha asked seriously. Kagome looked at him like she was going to kill him. Was he really stuck on this "have your cake and eat it too" mentality?

"I'm not a plan B Inuyasha. If you need a friend, I'm here. But you need to figure out what you want before putting this poor girl though hell. I refuse be a home wrecker." Kagome whispered harshly. She was rethinking this trip and wondered why she didn't lie and just go with Rin.

"Admit you want to be plan A and that's what you'll become. You've always been plan A princess." Inuyasha said simply with a smile. His heart sped up anticipating her reply. After watching her stare him down he noticed her mood get worse. His heart dropped in his stomach. She turned her back to him and groaned. He looked down at her lost. Inuyasha didn't know what he said that was so wrong and tried his best to think of a way to make her understand but he couldn't make the words come out.

"Just get some rest Inuyasha.." Kagome finally said.

Inuyasha continued to stare at the back of head wondering what the hell just happened. He nuzzled his face into her hair and sniffed to calm his nerves. Her confusing ways were going to drive him crazy.

"Stop," She groaned. "If I was really your top choice we wouldn't flying eight hours to meet your girlfriend. Get some sleep. You look better when you're well rested."

Sesshomaru turned a page in the book he was reading and smiled. Good girl, Kagome. Good girl.

Kagome's mouth drooled at what appeared to be the most beautiful place she'd ever seen. It was indeed spacious and well furnished so she had no objections when Sesshomaru offered to help her with her belongings as they walked to their rooms. "Are you sure this is a villa? This is huge..." Kagome admired.

"That's because mother rented it out last minute. It's actually someone's beachfront home. The original villa wasn't up to Kikyou's status apparently." Sesshomaru explained. He sat her suit case down in her room and proceeded to his next door. Kagome briskly followed behind him.

"Don't tell me she's one of those girls." She said watching him open his brief case to grab his book. She looked down at her casual crop top, jean shorts and flip flops. Please don't let this girl come to Hawaii in heels.

"She's used to the best of everything. Inuyasha refuses to make a bad first impression." He corrected.

"The best huh? And she doesn't want you instead?" Kagome joked while walking towards his balcony to admire the view. Sesshomaru watched her closely as the sun seemed to illuminate her face, his book long forgotten. He considered a cocky remark but instead bit his tongue to calm his demon. She always seemed to work him up and it was getting vexing constantly walking on eggshells. Kagome felt his arms wrap around her waist from behind and she let out a peaceful sigh. He gave her a sweet kiss on the top of head and rested his head upon hers.

"Would you care to meet her? She's downstairs staring at us from below." Sesshomaru smiled.

"Oh was that the perfume I smelled?" Kagome asked, looking in his direction. "You poor poor demons. Come on."

Kagome grabbed his hand and briskly walked through the house following the lavender smell. Despite his amusement, Sesshomaru let out a low "Be respectful" towards Kagome as she approached his brother and girl in question.

"My oh my! The two I've heard so much about finally gracing us with their presence." Kikyou marveled. "You two are as cute as they described!" Kikyou looked them up and down and circled around in approval.

"Us?" Kagome asked dumbfounded looking towards Sesshomaru. He gave her a wink for confirmation.

"Cute?" Inuyasha scoffed. He let out a sneeze and looked around for some tissue. Clearly he would have to later explain to Kikyou that his brother's relationship with Kagome was disgusting and pathetic.

"Now THAT'S cute." Kagome giggled out as she grabbed a tissue near her. She walked up to Inuyasha to wipe his nose.

"I can help you know." She whispered swiping his nose clean. "I'll take her for a quick shower and you'll be good as new."

"Don't you touch her." Inuyasha growled. His fist balled as he tried to hold back another sneeze.

"Watch me." Kagome smirked. She suddenly turned to face Kikyou. She held out her hand in hopes to say a proper hello. "I'm Kagome! It's so nice to finally meet you Kikyou. Thanks for inviting me!"

Kikyou looked down at the girl's hand and back to her face in disgust. "Hi... You don't really expect me to touch you after you touched his snot do you?" Kikyou asked nervously. Kagome regarded the question as rhetorical and inched her way back to Sesshomaru's side with a smile.

"Shall we all go shower and check out the hot tub then?" Sesshoumaru suggested. The question seemed to break the awkward silence as everyone agreed.

"There are actually showers out in the back we can use once in our swimsuits. Kagome, mind letting me get ready in your room? I'll need a little help..." Kikyou asked. She gave Kagome an encouraging smile.

Inuyasha watched Kagome's look of shock melt into a smile. Why couldn't he figure her out? She was such a migraine. He couldn't understand how stealing his time with his girlfriend benefited Kagome. Unless it was simply to piss him off which she did phenomenally.

"Not a problem all! Let me show you to my quarters madam," Kagome giggled. She placed her arm around Kikyou and led the way.

"It'll be fine son. Kagome knows this is important. She'll be good." Inutashio reassured, hearing his son growl under his breath. He turned to his wife who apparently had no comment. Inuyasha looked to her in disbelief. She was his mother! The least she could do was lie when he needed encouragement.

"Getting changed shouldn't take long. Be good princess!" Inuyasha reminded her, before heading to his own room.

"I will!" He heard both girls reply and his heart heavily dropped as they each looked at one another in confusion.

"Tell me that just happened," Sesshomaru teased towards Izayoi.

"This trip just officially got interesting." She whispered back.
