First she turned to the left, then to the right. She looked on the floor and stood up, looking over her chair as well.
"Wh-where is it? Where is it?!" She went down on her knees, watching below the chair. "WHERE THE TURF IS IT?!"
"Now what?!" Mr. Calmag opened his arms, as he was about to release more smoke out of his head. "Don't tell me you forgot your phone at home, now!" He punched the chair's right arm.
"IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" Greta stands back up, showing a pale face in front of the man, together with rose eyebrows and gritted teeth. "You see this hand palm?!" She showed her right hand palm, pointing its middle with her left forefinger. "The hand still remembers the moment I stored the darn smartphone!"
"You will find it later." He snorted, as he was now staring at the small group of Inklings. "What are you doing there?! Playing the 'not-doing-a-thing' game?!"
"No no, that smartphone must be found NOW!" She was shaking, as the girl couldn't stop sweating and moving her finger nails near her mouth. "Or else!" She swallowed silently.
"Or else what?!" The man took off his sunglasses, as he stared at her with his little, but cold eyes. "It's just a stupid smartphone!" He pointed her chair with his sunglasses. "Get your bottom back on the seat and don't"
"P-please, Mr. Calmag!" She went immediately in front of him, clasping her hands and getting her eyes watery. "I-I have to find it… st-start the recordings now…"
"Without you?! You are the creative mind for the show's commercial!" He stood up, as he threw his arms forward. "You know what type of message you want to send to your audience! You even went"
"I-I know what I said some days ago, Mr. Calmag!" Her mouth waved. "Yo-you earned all the responsibility over the whole"
"Ooooh, that will NOT be taken!" He swung his arms from the middle to the sides. "If the commercial doesn't bring more viewers, I will be the one who has to pay for that!"
He folded his arms.
"Listen, if you don't stay here and begin the recordings with me… I will be the one walking away! From all the ties I have with the show!" He grasped his arms more. "Good luck finding another producer who's as dedicated as me!"
You are just a buffoon!
We still have to hear your compliments over her acting!
He inhaled the air with his nose, before aiming his sight over the small group of protesters.
"Who said I was a buffoon?!" Puffs of smoke rose once more, sliding his own teeth left and right. "WHO?!"
"Ugh… th-things aren't getting good…!" Sweat kept descending from her forehead, as she looked at Bars. "Wh-what can big boy do…?!"
He was staring back… as he smiled.
"… nothing." Her eyelids lowered to the middle. "He's just good at being strong and… 'videogaming'."
"You have to choose now, Greta." He wore back his sunglasses, as the left lens shined. "The smartphone or the commercial."
"Bu-but I just need 5 minutes…!" She walked in place, as her hands couldn't resist grabbing her tentacles. "It must be somewhere on the sidewalk…! I-I haven't"
"The smartphone or the commercial." His head shook. "Choose."
Greta swallowed silently… as she jerkily turned behind and watched the crowd of Inklings.
"Any of you… can…" Her face went paler.
"None of them can look around the studios!" His eyes were seeing red. "THE SMARTPHONE OR THE COMMERCIAL!"
"Aaaaahh…!" Her hands pressed her cheeks. "Why… WH-WHY YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND?! THAT THING IS"
CLANG!
Immediately the eyes all shifted over the entrance. Mr. Calmag turned in the same direction… looking at Hun standing right in front of the metallic door.
"… ehm…" He waved his hand, shyly raising her shoulders. "… that man behind the door told me that this was the place for… ehm…" He brought his hands behind his back. "… my… my…" He mumbled something.
Greta's hands fell down… as a smile grew on her face.
"… my hero… MY SAVIOUR!" She dashed with her arms open, surrounded by an aura of happiness. "You came… you saw… YOU SAVED MY BUTT!"
"Eh?!" Hun's mouth lowered, same for his eyebrow-
Greta grabbed his shoulders, as she grinned widely and kept stepping on the floor.
"Hunry, HUNRY!" She hugged him tightly. "YOU ARE TRUE FRIEND! A GREAT FRIEND!"
"Gak!" His arms opened, as his eyes expanded. "Wh-what did I do?!"
"You came to rescue me!" She nodded twice. "More precisely, to rescue my smartphone!"
"Eh?" His mouth opened. "Smartphone…?"
"Ha ha!" She gave him a strong pat behind his shoulders. "Catching up with the times, eh?! You are the best, farm boy!"
"Greta, come back here!" Calmag waved his arm backwards. "Stop talking with"
"Wwwaaaaaaiiitt just a lil' sec!" She showed her hand palm at the man. "Watch me shaking off the little pebble I have under my foot…"
"Grina, wh-what's going on?!" Hun shook his head rapidly. "I don't understand!"
"Eh eh…" Gently, she turned her head over him. "… can you do me a tiny favor?"
"Now?" His eyebrows went up, as his mouth downturned. "But I"
"THANK YOU!" She hugged him again. "You could fill an entire ocean with your immense kindness!"
"Bu-but I haven't said a thing!" Sweat jumped out from his head, as he began moving his limbs around. "Listen"
"Can you find my smartphone?" She sincerely smiled at the boy, now just putting her hands on his shoulders. "It must be somewhere on the sidewalk… easy!"
"Oh… … but wasn't I supposed to do something here?" His head tilted to a side.
"Your memory is playing tricks again!" Her finger tapped his forehead, as she chuckled. "You are as free as a Squid who just jailbreaked a school!"
"Ah. …" His head lowered, as he frowned a bit. "… why he let me in this building, then…?"
"Details!" She pushed him kindly, as she turned behind and vaguely aimed the metallic door with her arms, while closing her eyes and smiling. "Now go, o' great knight in shining armor…! Make your epic deeds for the whole Squid society!"
"Bu-but Grina!" He opened his arms, sweating uncontrollably. "I-I don't even know what a smartphone is!"
…
"Wait… but that doesn't feel new to me at all…!" His hand went on his chin, as he tapped his foot and frowned slightly. "Didn't I saw that before…? … ah! Yes I did!" He smiled, lifting his forefinger upwards. "That must be one of those bottles who can be refilled and can tell you the time, right?!"
…
"… I was close…" Her mouth waved, as her eyes went watery. "… I was this close to save my butt…"
He pulled her tentacles so much, they were almost touching the floor!
"WHY I HAVE AN IGNORANT FRRIIEEEEEEEEEEENNDD?!"
"Hey!" Hun frowned.
"That's it!" The man threw his arm down. "I quit!"
"No no no no, wait!" Greta dashed over Mr. Calmag. "I choose the commercial! I choose the commercial!" She opened her arms wide.
The boy shook his head, watching the girl bending multiple times in front of the man, while tears and sweat bounced from all over her head.
"What has gotten into her?! That went too far!" He twisted behind, walking back over the door and opening it. "It's just better to stay away from her…"
"Back soon, Hun?"
"… yes." The boy closed the door, as he looked the other way. "No one was looking for me, here…"
Mike was leaning against the wall, while his arms were folded.
"I swear I received the message to let you in…" He picked his smartphone from his pocket, as he looked at its screen. "Let's see…"
Hun looked at the man, as he immediately glanced over the smartphone.
"Oh! Now I remember!" He lifted his fist, while frowning a bit. "That's what a smartphone is!"
"Yeah." The man turned his head over the boy. "You forgot?"
"Yes…" Hun's hand went behind his neck, as he looked away. "Greta asked me to find hers…"
Mike kept staring at him… before putting his smartphone away and pointing his forefinger at the sidewalk.
"She came from that direction. Perhaps you can find her smartphone along the way."
"Well… I don't know if I should help her out…" He frowned, looking over the opposite direction. "She treated me badly earlier on." He dived his hands inside a pocket each.
"She's having a bad day, Hun." Mike sighed. "She is dealing with a super-mad Mr. Calmag, after all…"
"But she said I'm ignorant!" He snorted, folding his arms and closing his eyes. "That's unacceptable from a friend!"
"Hun, do you think that Squids can always keep their cool in front of their friends?"
"… cool?" Hun reopened his eyes.
Mike was looking over the facilities in the distance.
"That's not a guarantee… wish it was, though."
"Uh… wh-what do you mean by 'cool'…?" Hun tilted his head over a direction.
"It means that Squids can't keep their calm if they are stressed. You saw a stressed Greta, today." The man turned his head over Hun, stretching his mouth over his right cheek. "Give her the time to think about her actions… and she will return to you, begging for forgiveness."
The boy opened his mouth slightly. Mike nodded.
"Despite her talent in acting, she is just an ordinary Squid like you and me. Not even her tightest mask can hide her emotions, if they are too strong to handle."
He twisted his head back to the other side…
"Help her out, Hun. You are still in time to do the right thing."
The boy began thinking… chirping sounds were coming from the trees and faraway car noises came from behind. A breeze passed near his ears.
"… I'll see what I can do." He turned behind, as he began walking on the sidewalk. "Bye."
Hun kept walking and walking, without focusing too much on anything in sight. Mike smiled.
