"Mirii…" Hun sighed. "… I think you are the one who must decide."
"… hmm?" Mirii's head rose, as her arms folded. "What do you mean…?"
"Mirii… you don't want to keep this stomach ache forever… right?" His hands went behind his back, as his mouth rose.
"Of course!" She nodded. "What use would that"
"And how are you supposed to cure it, then?" His eyes closed. "Did you actually tried to do it?"
"I drank some Power Health, this morning… hmpf!" She grimaced. "It was worthless…"
Hun brought his right hand forward, snapping his fingers and enlarging his eyes.
"That's it! You said it!" He waved his forefinger, as he took two steps in place. "You tried drinking… what was that, again?"
"Power Health. I told you about it, before." Mirii let her arms fall on her sides. "What are you trying to imply, Hunley?"
"Just the fact that you tried to cure it… but it didn't work!" His arms thrusted forward. "Don't you see?! What if you will never find another solution?! Don't you think you should give this place a try?!"
…
Mirii's face went paler, as her mouth flattened.
"Wh-what… wh-what an odd conclusion yo-you reached!" She shook herself, shyly pointing her forefinger back at him. "M-me n-not finding a solution…?! I-I'm a perfectionist f-for a reason"
"Mirii, are you alright…?" Hun downturned his mouth, tilting his head over the right.
"What kind of sign made you think of such question?!" The girl hugged herself, as her face managed to turn even paler. "Nothing can bring down perfection, Hunley! I AM perfection!"
"Stop it, Mirii!" Hun frowned. "You have a stomach ache, which keeps returning again and again!" He swung his arms forward. "You don't even know what to do"
"I just need to drink more Power Health!" Sweat covered her face, as she took one step back. "Th-that's it! Th-the dose needed to be l-larger than normal…!"
"And what if that doesn't work?!" Hun folded his arms. "Will you try to drink even more of it?!"
"If that is the requirement I must satisfy for saving myself…" She turned behind, watching the gate in the distance. "… I will be more than glad to do it."
From the distance, some Inklings were dashing under Mirii's sight. She gasped, as she took some more steps backwards.
There she is!
What's that guy doing?! Capture her!
As the girl twisted back, she saw two Inkling men running in her direction as well.
"Nnnnnnnnggh!" She gritted, looking over her right sight and seeing a path in between two buildings. "Hunley, follow me!"
The girl sprin-
"Hmm?!" Her head turned over her left.
Hun was holding Mirii's hand, as he kept her in place.
"What are you doing, Hunley?!" She shook herself, using all her strength to move over her decided destination. "Don't hold me back!"
"No! Never!" His eyes squeezed, as he bended himself backwards. "You need help, Mirii! I-I can't leave you behind! I will never leave you behind!" He blushed.
Mirii's cheeks went also red, although she kept moving her bust and legs.
"Hunley! HUNLEY, PLEASE! I'M BEGGING YOU!" She gritted her teeth, raising her eyebrows. "HELP ME! LISTEN TO ME!"
The group of Inklings were almost reaching the two…
"This is for your own good!" His eyebrows went also up. "I… I-I can't see you suffer for any longer…!"
"GAAAAH!" Suddenly, her uncaught arm wrapped her stomach. "GAAAAAAAAAHHH!"
Her legs were now bending over themselves, as the boy pulled her over himself. Once near, the girl pushed Hun away: her knees went down on the floor, coughing and yelping.
Quick! She can't resist for any longer!
"GAAAAAH!" Both her arms hugged her stomach, as her forehead also landed on the asphalt. "GAAAAAAAH…!"
Her legs pushed herself forward, as her stomach impacted on the floor.
"… Hunley…" Her eyelids were slowly closing. "… help… me…"
…
…
…
What was that cry?!
PAF!
"Guaaaah!" Mirii bounced back up, as her hands covered her face. "Uuuuggh!"
… tsk… you are just as pathetic as I thought…
"How dare you attacking my face?!" Her hands went down, revealing a red line going across from one point to the other.
In front of her, a purple Squid folding her tentacles and standing vertically on the asphalt.
"I dare… worthless self." She slightly rose her head. "This is what you get for not listening to my calls."
Mirii's eyes expanded, as her right hand instinctively covered her mouth.
"… your voice…"
"Hmpf!" The Squid's eyes closed. "Thought you would need at least one more minute, before your brain would catch up… at least you are not completely useless."
Veins popped out from Mirii's forehead.
"You cannot be me… your mouth is filled with nothing but insults!" She clenched her fists. "You are not worthy to be called"
"Perfection? Unfortunately for you, I am." The Squid showed her back, snorting in the process. "This is what perfection looks like…" Her single left iris pointed over the girl. "… unlike the delusion I'm witnessing right now."
Mirii caressed her right tentacle… with decisive hand movements.
"What do you want from me…?" Her eyes squeezed a bit. "Where are we…?"
Her surroundings were the same… except all the objects and landscapes were covered in a slight-purple tone.
"This place is the representation of what you perceive in the real world… although, it's under a frozen state since I had to bring you in here by force." The Squid slowly nodded. "Actually… I should say that you brought yourself in here."
"Nonsense!" Mirii pointed her forefinger over the Squid. "Why I would ever wish to meet such despicable, hateful, disgraceful creature like you?!"
"… you still don't understand?" The Squid snorted, now shaking her head. "I'm not an individual Squid… I'm you."
"That statement is a clear contradiction!" Mirii thrusted her left shoulder over her opponent. "I would never hate myself!"
"But you do… except, you are not admitting it." The Squid's tentacle pointed over Mirii. "You refuse to see the truth in front of your own eyes."
"I still don't see such fact." The girl's head rose. "Would you like to show me some prove?"
"Sure." The Squid frowned, as she rubbed herself on the floor. "That's exactly the reason why I brought you here, imbecile!"
Mirii kept her pose.
"You keep using that inferior form for almost all the time, while you leave this one for the occasional dive inside the ink… or for a single super-jump." The Squid increased her frown, as her tentacles pressed on the ground. "I had enough of your tyranny… YOU ARE MEANT TO BE THIS! YOU WILL BECOME THIS!"
The Squid sprung away from the floor, as Mirii swung a kick over her.
PAF!
The Squid flew over the left, landing and rolling on the floor. She stopped, managing to point her eyes over Mirii.
"… you have a strong will…" She jumped, standing vertically. "But I have the army!"
Several Squids emerged from below, all posing in the same way as the original. Mirii turned herself around, as she kept seeing Squids everywhere!
"Nnnnnnggh!" Mirii's forehead sweated.
"You cannot defeat us!" The Squids charged after the girl.
"Wh-what I can do…?!" She prepared her legs. "Luckily they don't move too fast… but would my kicks be enough?!"
All of the sudden, the Squids slid as slowly as a Super Sea Snail! Mirii's jaw dropped.
"How it happened?!" She closed her mouth back. "… wait…" Her forefinger landed on her right cheek, as her left hand grabbed her right elbow. "She said we are inside the representation of how I perceive reality…"
Her eyebrows lowered slightly.
"In other words… this world is my own viewpoint!"
The Squids were still marching, despite the lowered speed. Mirii was observing the first of the army, as she lowered her arms.
"I must be confined inside a specific area of my mind… but how did that happened?" Her arms folded. "Why I'm assisting such odd experience…?"
Before she knew it, all Squids stopped completely.
"… yes, I was indeed seeing them as nothing but useless statues." She snorted. "… there is still room for improvement…"
The Squids all vanished instantly. Mirii smiled, as she nodded.
"It appears I have now full control over my viewpoint…" Her eyes expanded. "Control…? … that Squid claimed to be me… … was she an emerging viewpoint who tried to override mine…?"
Her face went paler, as her arms folded.
"Wh-why would I ever want to change my own viewpoint?! Th-that's ridiculous!"
You… you haven't defeated me…
"No!" Mirii looked upwards, while frowning and thrusting her fists. "Impossible!"
Your will is strong… but vulnerable. You just managed to delay your newer opinions… enjoy your childish form as much as you can, because you will soon reach perfection and agree to every single point I say!
"I AM perfection!" She stretched her arms down. "Disappear from my thoughts!"
…
"Just as I thought." She nodded, while closing her eyes. "You are nothing but a fool who is only capable of imitating successful Squids like me."
…
"Now… for the exit." Opening back her eyes, she was staring at the brick wall ahead. "That pile of bricks is nothing more than the exit I'm looking for…"
…
The girl frowned slightly.
"I said… that pile of bricks is the exit I'm looking for." Her hands went on her hips.
…
"I don't understand… why it's not working?!" She walked towards the wall. "I command you to turn into a path! I see you as a path! YOU MUST BECOME A PATH!"
She couldn't keep herself, as she turned her own walk into a run.
"How can a simple construction block my orders?! It's inconceivable!" Her hands hit the wall. "Turn into a path! TURN INTO A PATH!" Her fists threw a punch each. "Curses! I can't lose control over my viewpoint!"
The bricks were slowly changing their textures, as the girl gasped and jumped backwards. She leaned forward, observing the image forming on the wall.
"Is the wall… obeying my orders?!" Her irises pointed the lower part of the wall.
A small bed surface appeared on the middle, surrounded by a clear floor. A metallic door formed in the distance, coupled with a medical wardrobe sitting on the left corner. The girl grew a smile on her face.
"It's working… I-I did it!" She walked towards it. "I'm finally… waking up…"
